My boss in Roanoke told me he got his start in TV at WBOC in the art department. He later went on to be in charge of all on-air promotion at WMAR-TV in Baltimore.
At one time, WBOC-TV 16 in Salisbury,MD waa affiliated with all three networks-CBS, NBC and ABC. Now it is strictly a CBS network station. This is from the late 1960s-early 1970s.
Also, that opening TP (initials courtesy the Worldwide TV-FM DX Association and, before that, John R. Meagher's RCA "Pict-O-Guide" books), in color, would have had the colors in the wedges thus: - Center upper left: Crimson red - Top upper left: Dark royal blue - Top upper right: Amber/banana yellow - Center upper right: Lavender pink - Center lower right: Peacock blue - Bottom lower right: Pink salmon - Bottom lower left: Forest green - Center lower left: Dark violet
Good stuff! But, like others have noted, this cannot be the "early 60s" as the Salisbury Mall did not open until October 1968. My guess for this clip is c1969/1971 timeframe.
Looks like the WBOC test pattern dated to c.1962-64. RCA TK-60's (introduced 1964) were in the studio so yeah, it couldn't have possibly been "early '60's."
