Grubby: *explaining the intricacies of high level, competitive Warcraft play* Me, whose idea of "competitive" is dueling my childhood friends 20 years ago, both agreeing on a 20 minute ceasefire at the start of every game so we can build our armies in peace: "mhm, very interesting indeed 🤔"
If every GameDev would connect their game and their audience as well as you, I would not need life anymore. Probably the highest quality of content I've ever witnessed: Stylistic, informative, mechanical, strategic, ... Keep it coming!
-Cool looking horses -Lots of AOE -Fireball as auto attacks -Always have mana for your team -Best hero names (Conjurus Rex is lit) -Best beard of Lordaeron -Water type pokémon -Best looking ult -INFURY FROSTATIS SEDAA Do you need any other motive to pick him? I think not
@@philh2932 Oh no, my water elemental was dispelled! It's gonna take me a whole 4 seconds to recoup the mana cost of that, truly my stocks will never recover from this damage.
A (very expensive)trick with archmage (and other summoner heroes) is to retrain mid-combat. Archmage level 5 can cast 2 rank 3 water elementals, wait for the 20 second cooldown and then respec to rank 3 blizzard. You have a large power spike for the first 20 seconds where you have 2x rank 3 spells.
This is awesome, the WC 3 manuels are still wet from printing and we already get an indepth analysis of important units. Great Job! For real this brings WC 3 in best game ever territory, enabeling not only new players but a complete new generation of actual humans to play this game competently.
Another great one Grubby! Not sure if you’ve already done it, but it would be super interesting with one video per race, strengths, weaknesses, identity, common strategies, how to counter and so on.
I've been loving these so far, very very awesome videos! The quality is honestly incredible. I'd love to see Keeper of the Grove, he's almost always my starting hero lol but any hero would be cool tbh, I just hope we see all of them ;D as long as you're having fun making them of course. Also I saw some other comments asking for race spotlights, and I must say that would be pretty damn cool, especially for us new players. Cheers ❤
Dude!!! First of all let me say from your whole community, we absolutely adore you❤❤❤ Secondly, You're so smart and quick on your feet when you're talking about things like when you do the bronze league heroes videos and you come up with the funniest jokes on the spot about every single thing.I literally pee my pants every time. 😂 Lastly I think more of these videos where people can learn and apply real time strategies and maneuvers that they never thought about would be super useful and encourage them to play the game more. Basically keep wc3 alive. Well I think you've already been doing that anyways but i'm sure you get my point. Anyways, from one wc3 is my favorite game of all time to a fellow wc3 is my favorite game of all time person lol I just wanted to say thank you for all that you do. (Sorry for the long message) love.
This is your best content so far. I check for the next one daily. I like when I can listen without watching, so I can clean up or fall asleep. Sometimes you also comment bronze games like sports radio and that is great too. Tinker or panda would be nice, but I would listen to them all
haha, i loved the lore part. just threw me back, when my dad bought me warcraft 2 and i basically lived in the lore parts of the manual book (remember when games came with a thick book with explanations of the mechanics, illustrations and lore?!). I always liked the wizard nation in warcraft
Good shit! I'm torn -- I want to see Keeper of the Grove next, but I also wonder if it isn't better to save him for later, in case there are more suggestions to improve the series....
What I got from this vid: - Archmage is cool - In the icon of water elemental, there is a skull at the end of the wave.... I always thought that it just was a regular water wave... also cool
13:25 The lower base attack time makes him better at using damage items too, not just attack speed items. It just means how fast you attack with +0 attack speed which scales with attack speed but it also scales with damage
Great video! Would love to see some of the more niche heroes picked first. Pit Lord was cool, so continuing in that fashion with heroes like Crypt Fiend, Blood Mage, Shadow Hunter and T.C, maybe going over their potential as starting heroes, why and why not that might work.
Let's do Demon Hunter next Is he really just an Auto Attack Bot that shits out Mana Burn? Or is there a little more nuance to, "The" _Mister_ Night Elf
As a human player since War3 was released, my fav sneaky trick with the am is sneaking him into the enemy gold line to blizz, taking a staff of tele. Creep your mk while doing this. Get lvl 2 blizz 1st, also works with bloodmage - enjoy.
I have several heroes I'd like to see next . . . but since we haven't yet done Night Elf or Undead (actual Undead -- Pit Lord doesn't count), let's do the staple heroes Demon Hunter and then Death Knight.
Grubby, you are amazing. The almost childish level of jokes and puns did not feel at all patronising. On the contrary, you match the most valuable level of theatrical talent akin to great masters of history. Your kids you'll be absolutely beguiled by your charm and character. Never change
Please do Warden next! I never played competitively, but Night Elf is my favorite and she has been my all-time favorite for her ability to just remove enemy heroes from the fight ever since Frozen Throne came out.
Ok... that explains exactly why Blizzard's damage always felt somewhat weak to me - because I always tried to hit all the possible targets. Still, it is splash damage, which is always useful. Summon elemental - I find it to be incredibly strong - fantastic creeping tool, a solid additional AND free unit. The only problem is that it gives xp to the enemy. Brilliance aura - probably THE best ability in the game, IF you are using units and heroes that need a lot of mana. And with humans it is pretty much given. It allows you to pressure the enemy MUCH more consistently and cheaper than the enemy. Most have to spend money on mana pots. Not an army with an archmage. A lot of the abilities become spammable - Sorceress' slow, Priest's heal, Mountain King's various stuns - all this can be used far more frequently. This also helps with army's sustain - priests can top your army off with less of a time delay AND still have mana to cast other spells for example - meaning you can enter virtually any battle in top shape if you play it right.
Surely Demon Hunter is next. Illidan is such a hood classic WC character. Even in a late, balanced state, Mana Burn has always been a scary, game defining ability. Metamorphosis can turn a game instantly or often force GG. For meme NE choice, Warden is such a fun hero, and always felt like she needed a meta 2nd hero companion strat. I'm surprised there's not more tricky Warden strats in any level of play.
Hi Grubby given that you haven't done an undead hero I would like to see you do Dreadlord next, I feel like he has always been an unorthodox first pick standing in the shadow of the Death knight, however when I started playing Reign of Chaos I always started with him because he was the cool vampire guy, and getting his rare ult off was always super satisfying (even if the games where you got it were probably always won).
Hoping to see Lich next, that Nova has been terrorizing games for decades. That being said, it's hard not to pick Archmage in any WC3 scenario as at some point, I run out of mana and start wishing I had Brilliance Aura.
