Here are some bits and pieces taken from a "Late Late Show" (technically, it's the "Late Late Show 2," according to the announcer, meaning the second of two late-night flicks) airing on WCBS channel 2, the CBS flagship in New York City.
I couldn't pinpoint a date, but it's definitely from 1985. The movie before it (on the VHS tape I found it on) was recorded on December 20th, and there's a "Merry Christmas" station identification slide in here, so it's safe to say it was within days of (if not on) the holiday.
First there's a news promo with the tagline, "Because anything can happen in New York." There are many cool scenes of everyday life in the metro area, and Carol Martin is seen on a television (but I can't think of the name of the other reporter seen with her). A "Late Late Show" bump follows, then a title slide, and then the familiar package open.
The opening seconds of the movie go right into a promo with WCBS patting itself on the back for their United Press International award for "best local newscast in the country." Superlative anchors Rolland Smith and Jim Jensen are featured.
"Quincy," the hour-long drama with Jack Klugman as a sleuthing Medical Examiner, was beginning a syndicated run soon, as shown in a cleverly edited promo. The Christmas ID I mentioned, and the title slide again, close out the video.
No rights held or implied. (If you'd like this video removed for copyright reasons, please contact me rather than notifying RU-vid, I will gladly take it down from this channel.) This is on compilation 70 at oldtvads.blogspot.com...

To bring out the movie “Remember When” was supposed to be the 50th anniversary of a made for TV movie starring Jack Warden. And Jack shared the same birthday as me. Even though he passed away back in 2006 due to cardiovascular disease. And he was a a New Jersey native back then.

This was from Christmas Eve/Day 1985. The schedule was: 11:30 - A Season Of Joy Midnight - A Christmas Eve Celebration 1 AM - Late Show "All My Darling Daughters" 2:40 AM - Late Late Show "The Stranger Who Looks Like Me" 4:10 AM - Late Late Show "Remember When"

Excellent, thanks for the info! My collection of TV Guides and Newsday TV Books spans the 70’s through ‘83, so I can’t use it to check these videos (my unique collection of tapes is generally from the mid-80’s). A sub to newspapers dot com is a little steep for me, so a little help from those in the know is always appreciated!

The Late Late Show 2, I didn't think there was such a thing. It would normally be The Late Show then the Late Late Show. WABC in the 90s would also sometimes have a "Late Movie 2". This is the kind of stuff I always love to see, especially when there's an announcement about the next movie!
