Subscribed! Been wondering if you kept this rig, looking forward to some good WD21 content, there's not enough out there! I have an 87 2-door Aussie version with the 4cyl. Best car in the world.

A lot on the way! Thank you so much for the sub. Expect some mixed content as I do Corvette videos and other "car guy/truck guy" related stuff. The pathfinder vids are coming though, very shortly...everything I mentioned in this vid and then some.

Just picked up a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder, 4 door 4 wheeler with 33” under it. 5 speed of course! You lace and josh have inspired me to show my daughter the landscape we live in! I recently overcame a nasty alcohol addiction and took up over-landing, in part because of your videos. The excitement you all share is something I’ve been lacking! Thank you for your videos! Keep them coming! - theflooringguy

Thats a great thing man...a real great thing. Josh...that really hits home with him, trust me. I'll let him comment on that if he wants but...glad to hear that you faced those demons and let me tell you...it opens the door for new experiences and memories ahead. Lace also has connections to that, as a daughter...seeing people fight for their family and future...its a great comeback story! Awesome to hear that!

Great video. I have a 1990 Pathfinder SE 4X4 with the sport package (automatic) and it looks just like yours right down to the color. I purchased it from the original owner's estate a while back and it's a one of a kind. Original owner was a single woman in AZ who rarely drove it and kept it garaged and dealer serviced it's entire life. It has 51,400 original miles, zero rust and looks like new inside and out with stacks of service records, original window sticker, original floor mats, etc. Had it completely serviced, timing belt done, drained/changed all fluids, hoses and belts and put BF Goodrich TAKO2's on it. It's so sweet in it's original condition that I probably won't do much more to it. I liked your advice about judging the capabilities before doing any mods and this truck works well for me as just as it is. I love this little truck but will probably sell it because I have too many vehicles right now and am mooching driveway space from neighbors plus I rarely drive it and it deserves to be driven. Looking forward to more videos on this great little truck.

Wow, that sounds like a real cherry of a find there. Wish you were in Vegas, wouldn't mind doing a vid on that. Shame you cant keep it but hopefully someone will pick it up that will both enjoy it and also not molest it. Clean examples like that are the long term keepers from here, for sure.

If you're going to use a terrain tamer (outback)clutch think twice. It's great for grip ... But it's hell on your box as a everyday driver. It's so good at grip I have to double clutch my old Girl so it don't grind the gears. And my box only had 90,000kms on it when I upgraded the clutch to do a big trip towing a DIY trailer (1300kgs). As for spring upgrade ... I used 2003 Isuzu trooper HD 50mm raised spring's. I have my 2nd battery (120amp) in rear along with spare,air compressor, recovery gear , 45litre fridge. The car has a twin arm steel rear bar and like I said tow 1300kg trailer (fully loaded) When I do long trips I put on two boxes on the arms ... They Carry 4 Jerry cans of fuel, 2 of water..... (80 litres of fuel 40 litres of water.)

Just watched your other newer update vid and happy to see you still have her. Simple engine mods I have done - e3 spark plugs, K&N Air Filter, get rid of the pea shooter to the air box and the little plastic boot into the fender., remove the rubber shield behind the driver side head light for fresher air, headers are still available, silicone blue or red wires, fresh fuel filter cap and rotor and timing belt, 1030 Valvoline mixed with Lucas Oil additive. Do water pump while your in there. Last but not least keep on wrenching.

Still debating on an engine change. With the Xterra transmission, really also looking at going to the xterra motor. This motor needs plenty....lol.

Good on you for going with the build. I had a 93 SE that had the auto trans go out and I got rid of it. I regret it. There is something endearing about these rigs. The view out is amazing and they are roomy enough inside. Hope the build goes smoothly!

Hopin it goes smooth myself...lol. Truck is real clean underneath so, that shouldnt be an issue. Just hope everything comes apart well and no drama. Ready to get back out there. During all this covid bs, getting out off road and out in the desert is a great thing.

I love my 92 square dash. Bought it from first owner. Lifted with a calmini 4 in. Enkei 15in with 33s. I have taken this vehicle to some trails that I have never thought about making out from. I’ve had ppl watch me with bigger and tougher rigs go up trails that they wouldn’t even dare. Best 1800 I have ever spent. Oo let’s not forget the $150 timing service that was done the first day of spent ship. Unlimited Tahoe, Yosemite, Utah trips, and also takes me to work from Monday to Friday’s.
@KnightDriveTV
@KnightDriveTV 3 года назад
Man you are right about that. I have gone up trails that people didnt believe I had gone through in a stock Pathfinder. They have pretty good factory clearance and short overhangs. I went through trails around Vegas that Jeeps on 33's+ were getting stuck in and dragged out of. With the small loft and new 31's I got, I am hoping to add a little more capability. I am considering a 1.5" body light for center clearance next then will be fabricating custom bumpers and sliders and roof top tent integrated into the truck.
@panoramama
@panoramama 3 года назад
@@KnightDriveTV that’s exactly what I tell everyone. The engine is really weak but I guess is the advantage of short wheel base and high ground of clearance eventhou stock suspension. This goes to show you that you don’t need to go to your nearest dealer and spent 40k to have fun. I can’t wait to see your build. My patty has also been going through an over lander make over. I put a tent on it about 1.5 years ago already. I always wanted to do a kitchen in the back but then I’ll be left with no storage room and also once again the vg30 is a pig. My idea still holds to do a swing out table for my stoves on the rear tire rack. If you ever do anything please let me know or make a video. Another thing that I’m sure your going to do is the dual battery conversion. Ppl say that the stock alternator can’t take it but I’m not sure about that. Two battery apperantly got side by side in the engine bay? I was thinking under the frame by the rear axle or something.

I have a 93 SE with a vg33e swap. Plenty of torque. Please keep us updated with the new engine swap. Best of luck man!

VG33 no doubt a huge step forward over the 30, but...idk...I drive Corvettes all day...they have an abundance, so I feel like I need MOAR...lol. The Pathfinder is apart as we speak. Transmission out, rear suspension, etc. Video on pathfinder custom 2020 bronco inspired mods releasing today also. Thanks for watching! We're gonna try this LV3 swap for sure....

Keep us posted!! I'm looking forward to seeing your results. I've been up and down RU-vid and i'm glad i came across you. I have a few of the same concerns with my 95 XE-V6, however i just dropped some money on a decent roof set up to accommodate for two dogs lol. Ive got a few trips planned here this fall, if I have some time for tire carrier mods i'll definitely share my experience with you if you are interested?

Im waiting to see the results and how the car will be lifted. Im from Saudi Arabia and i got 92 2 door wd21 with ka24e 4 cylinder manual transmission it is good engine but very low power and it drive really slow. Hopefully soon i will be able to get the vg33 on it and also do the lift. Nice video and thank you for sharing details on build keep going 👍👍
@KnightDriveTV
@KnightDriveTV 3 года назад
Doing it as I type this. Going to lift in two stages. First is just the basic suspension lift like shown in the last vid and install happening now. Then next step will be a mild body lift, but I am considering custom making it. I will then be doing one-off flares to replace the OEM's.

I’ve got 2 of these 1st gen pathfinders, one i got from my grandfather, it’s a 1988 4x4 5 speed with some front end damage but it runs/drives and the other is a 1989 4x4 automatic with a sunroof/power windows etc. but it’s sat since 2006 and has some type of fuel issue and no title. Not sure which one is more worth it to fix up
@KnightDriveTV
@KnightDriveTV 3 года назад
Anything that sits is generally going to be problematic from lack of use, seals going bad, etc. Depending on the wreck damage I'd lean that way but...if not maybe scavenging good parts from the running one over then doing the "vermont trick" will get ya rollin. Look up titling old motorcycle through vermont. I've done it for motorcycles and busses, very easy. Just need an old registration card or even just a bill.of sale written out to you with the former owners name. Vermont will issue you registration then you can use vermont registration to transfer to your state and get a title. Easy, cost small amount but makes thing easy

You mention wanting to swap in an "LS", but too difficult. What is this "LS"? (I'm guessing not the same as a limited slip dif?)
@KnightDriveTV
@KnightDriveTV 3 года назад
Its an LS GM based engine but its a V6...called the LV3...used in 2014+ Silverado 1500s. Mega torque, V6 package, cyl deactivation, etc
