I got my ASE Master Tech cert back in '91 so I have been doing this for a minuet or 2. Nice to see theres still shops out there that do repairs right. Unfortunately you guys would starve here in SoCal. I worked in the $250k+ gross per month shops for years. And I was the "train wreck" guy or production manager. For trucks its check for diamond, pull for length, pull sway and then level it. Can't spend any more than 3-4 hours on the rack. Always hurry up. Theres 5 more cars needing quick pulls. Can't say that I miss it one bit.

That's a purdy fancy machine you got there. As a backyard mechanic I've straightened frames before with a stout tree trunk, chains, a come along and my "eye-crometer"!!

Funny stuff. I have never seen a semi-painted. (love the blue) Does the paint get much dirt in it since you don't have a paint booth for it?

Yes it gets dirt in it I use a static gun that reduces dust but still has it! One day I will get a semi booth !

Robby, why use your magic to remove a damaged fender? Just snap your fingers and make all damage repairs complete and repainted. You could save a lot on labor, tools, parts and materials! 😂 😂 😂

Can't wait to see the Chevy/GMC Duramax truck finished! I'm still surprised that the insurance authorized repair. Had to be close to the overall value of the truck? Only thing that saved it was no blown bags. You guys do some amazing work! Keep it up!!

I would say the current value of used vehicles and the lack of new inventory are making the work worth the expense. A deer dented a car of mine, Robby could've fixed it on his lunch break and the Insurance company totaled the vehicle...I don't believe the same would be true today.

Never seen a frame rack in use before, very enlightening and thanks for the Show and Tell Robby. My Ram truck was hit in the same location as the black Chevy and the collision company and the insurance deemed it necessary to put a whole new frame under it and do a complete swap of body and all components as opposed to frame straightening. I'm not complaining, it just seemed odd and very expensive. Thank goodness the other guy's insurance is paying for it and not mine.

Can we assume self made damages by people rock climbing etc.. can't be covered by insurance. Guess it takes deep pockets to pay you cash,/checks for those repairs? Umm you forgot the part of showing us a straight frame, don't need parts for that?

Actually, you would be surprised how many repairs from off-roading are covered by insurance and, even better, you don’t need any type of special coverage. Wranglers are marketed and sold as an off-road vehicles by the manufacturer and most major insurance companies have established policies regarding offroad use of these types of vehicle as ‘reasonable and expected’ use - thus the damage associated with that use is often covered under the vehicle’s insurance policy. I have never personally filed a claim, but I’ve filmed many flops and rollovers where the footage was submitted and the repairs were indeed covered by insurance (or in most cases with extreme rock crawling totaled out).

I’m kinda interested in that too. You’ll notice some of the more extreme rear bumpers have a pretty large gap between the top of the bumper and the tub and that’s because the frame will flex quite a bit and contact/damage the tub. That’s also why I don’t run one of those fancy aluminum radiators…turns out the stock radiator flexes better with the front frame rails whereas the aluminum tends to crack 🙃

I tell all.. Between robbys family.. Fabrats, Matt's off road recovery, the freedom Factory, VGG, DDE, 1320video, Adam lz, Taylor Ray, T. J Hunt.. I believe RU-vid would be a boring site to see.. It's all love and smiles in miles. If you're interested in the good car action it's all you need.
