When my sceptical friends talk about ancient man being simple or primitive, I think about how many of us could run a farm. Most of us had a grandfather or great grandfather who planted and harvested crops, had cattle or something, etc. These guys are engineers. Repairing and building their own tools, inventing machines and techniques. How many of us are as smart as men and women of the past. We should have no doubt about ancient peoples ability to navigate and cross the oceans, build impressive objects.

I'd like to see someone, the grade academic or not, look into migration to the west from northern tribe Northern peoples in Europe coming across the Iceland Greenland on to the Americas. My reason is because of early photographs of gathered Native American tribes and their teepees. The animal images on these TVs are almost exactly the same as the artwork in Altamira caves in Spain and the lascaux cave in France. BOCES cave systems were not discovered until around 1952 so the native tribes back at the turn of the century when these early pictures were taken had no idea that the caves existed.

It appears that the European compiler of the "Red Record" also did not ask the native peoples and was guilty of even more than just "assuming, guessing and outright lying": "In 1994, and afterwards, textual evidence that the Walam Olum was a hoax was supplied by David M. Oestreicher in "Unmasking the Walam Olum: A 19th Century Hoax". Oestreicher examined Rafinesque's original manuscript and "found it replete with crossed-out Lenape words that had been replaced with others that better matched his English 'translation.' In other words, Rafinesque had been translating from English to Lenape, rather than the other way round".[8] In general, he found a variety of evidence that the Walam Olum was not an authentic historical record but was composed by someone having only a slight familiarity with the Lenape language. Oestreicher argued that Rafinesque crafted the linguistic text from specific sources on the Delaware Language published by the American Philosophical Society and elsewhere. Further, he said that the supposedly "Lenape" pictographs were hybrids from published Egyptian, Chinese, and Mayan sources.[1] Barnhart concurs, stating that "the pictographs are in no way comparable to the figures found on the stone carvings or petroglyphs found in Lenapehoking, the traditional homeland of the Lenape.[27] David Oestreicher asserted that the stories were a conglomerate assembled from numerous sources from different cultures that spanned the globe. Barnhart was of the opinion that Rafinesque created the Walam Olum in hopes of winning the international Prix Volney contest hosted in Paris, and Barnhart thought that Rafinesque wanted to prove his long-held theories regarding the peopling of America. Oestreicher's findings were summarized by Herbert Kraft in his study, "The Lenape-Delaware Indian Heritage: 10,000 BCE to 2000 CE", and by Jennifer M. Lehmann in "Social Theory as Politics in Knowledge"."

@@PortmanRdabsolutely! It explains why people build pyramids in every continent or other stone structures that have been built with basically supercomputers to follow stars despite man being "primitive". For some reason the Bible also has the history of the empire of Alexander the Great and the successive 4 kingdoms written about 200 years prior to Alexander's existence. It explains why fish fossils are on top of mountains, or why DNA is duplicated with 3 Terabytes of data 10 trillion times every 3 months in human bodies without so much of a loss of a single bit of information despite it being a CHEMICAL PROCESS. It's mind boggling how good the encoders, decoders, and compilers in each cell are able to read the Code stored in a microscopic cell capsule.

My daughter found a large pottery sherd that was identified by a pottery expert as Mid-Late Woodland 5:55. She found it in Lake Michigan, WI. It’s 1/2” thick, red clay fabric with fine inclusions, lightly salt-glazed or rubbed, fired mostly entirely all the way through. There was a slightly-curled lip and it was fairly wide, so it had to have been a great shipping vessel for seed or grain or the like. From about 1 and 1/2 “, there are three bands of equally spaced, small, punctate stabs and slashes, with a horizontal, continuous fine line around what would have been the perimeter of the lip/opening. It’s amazing to own something so old. I debated having a First Nations expert identify it and then I would donate to their affiliation but I am Native American, and it was given to me by my daughter when she was a young girl, and I cherish it. ❤

The Vikings were here on the east coast by 1000 AD and to think the Delaware came about 900 AD is almost mind blowing. Love the historical content and connection to migration over distance. One recommendation: instead of drawing migration lines from arrival point back to point of origin, using an arrow to indicate where the tribes came from, I think the visual conflicts a bit with change over time, to explain migration with clarity. I would recommend drawing migration lines from point of original to next destination/final destination area, with arrows indicating where the tribe arrived later, rather than using the arrows to indicate start point. Learning new information with complex details is difficult enough to retain, and if visual aids do not flow outward from point of origin to latter destination, then it's more difficult to sort out and retain information accurately - especially in regards to changes in position or formation that occurs over long periods of time. Just a suggestion, but overall, great work here in this video.

This is a great video. I’m glad there is someone doing this. I have known for a few years that there are stories told by different nations or people that have been totally glossed over or blatantly, ignored previously by archaeologists and anthropologists, especially when they were being funded by the Smithsonian or other institutions of so-called higher learning. They continue to uphold and push forward, the narratives of people like Powell , and don’t bother to just asking hey… Where did you come from? One thing I will add is that some of the information that you have about the Navajo called them selves the Dineh… is incomplete. They say that the old people tell them that they came originally from the east. However, there were other people that were from further up north, and already living there out west that were absorbed into the Dineh. So I’m going to differ with you about the whole they came from the north narrative. There is an elder by the name of Walter Brown who has recently come out and started putting this information out into the public. There are other people in his nation who are not happy about this, but the truth needs to be given to people finally. a lot of things are not what we think they are. People who are now in the south started out up north or out west and people who are now in the north or at West ended up coming from somewhere else. Some of the people who lived in south, and Central America came up into North America and conquered and pillaged, and took slaves and returned back down there with those slaves, or in some cases, some of them stayed in North America and settled in the area and became a part of the bloodline here. It’s very confusing and complex. We may never get all the answers but it’s good that you have done this video because that’s a step in the right direction.. the number of first nations, absorbed other peoples that were decimated by war, disease, or encroachment of other groups of people that took their land just like the Catawba nation down in my neck of the woods. They are made up of many other peoples and tribes that were absorbed into their nation. If you ask the history books, they will tell you that many tribes went extinct. This is not true. They were absorbed into other groups, and given shelter and protection, and became one of the clan or the family. This is how people used to do things in ancient Europe as well. Most European Americans do not know their ancestry or where they came from or anything about their ancient ancestors. The North American peoples do remember. Some of them wrote it down. Others inscribed things upon stone or slate or left engravings upon metal. The rest have simply carried the stories down as an oral tradition.

Actually, what's happening is that a young Earth creationist wrote a book, rather than going through the proper scientific channels and publishing his work in a relevant, peer-reviewed journal, and creationists are getting all excited and giddy about it because it confirms their beliefs. The book will soon be forgotten, as it contributes nothing to the science of genetics or any other field for that matter. I don't have a dog in this race; I think it would be absolutely amazing and awesome if Nathaniel Jeanson's work was legit, but it simply is not. There are plenty of geneticists who have pointed out the many errors in his book. The info is easy to find online.

Being a Great Lakes resident, it's interesting, the evolution in pronunciation of "Ojibwa". Because the "O" is so muted that it's almost imperceptible, the "jib" sounds more like "chip" and of course ending in "wah". So the closest phonetic pronunciation is "Chip-wah", which is why the Europeans called them "Chipp-ew-wa" (Jibwa).

Especially once you have as much as is humanly possible concerning the people's of the early part of this land prior to and up to, say, the early 1900's. Such a book would be not only of great interest but an incredible read, not to mention educational. I for one would love to have such a book! Please consider it!!

Nathaniel Jeanson..? Good Lord.. people praising his work as if it's some sort of amazing scientific breakthrough or something, meanwhile, all the man does is write books. Until he publishes his work in relevant, scientific, peer-reviewed journals, he can be rightfully ignored. This is just absurd. His books will lead to absolutely nothing. No further studies, no collaboration with other geneticists moving forward, nothing. His work will be forgotten, because it adds nothing to science, because it is pseudoscience.

Only missed it by about 130 years. The Kensington runestone shows that at least one time there were Europeans that were visiting as far west as Wisconsin or Minnesota I'm trying to remember where Kensington is. I think it's in Minnesota. You also should already have read the observations of William Penn who stated that the Hopewell tribesmen had a unique tendency to follow every single Hebrew customer had tradition that exists within Biblical scripture and known Jewish practices. As for the Hopewell tribe, there is a narrative of their origin. The white man just doesn't seem to know how to walk to them and ask them specifically. Because no less than at least two of the tribes said that they came in boats from the East. And settled in this country and expanded from there.

I am a descendant of Odawa and Ojibwe bloodlines. A number of my maternal great-great-great-grandparents were pure blood natives. One, Paw-zhe-daw-naw-quot, was a chief of the Beaver Island Band of Odawa Native Americans in Michigan prior to the Latter-Day Saints takeover and attempted Christianization of the Natives on that island, resulting in many families leaving. I largely descend from Odawa blood, but it is all mixed. According to tradition, the Odawa, Ojibwe and Potawatomi were once a mighty people known as the Anishinaabe. We came from the east and were known by our neighbors as the "People of the Dawn Land". Our ancestors say we were a part of the Abenaki people or dwelled among them. Then seven prophets appeared to the people. The First Prophet told the people that in the time of the First Fire they would have to leave their homes by the sea and follow the sign of the megis. They were to journey west to strange lands in search of an island in the shape of a turtle. This island will be linked to the purification of the earth. Such an island was to be found at the beginning and at the end of their journey. Along the way they would find a river connected two large, sweet water seas. This river would be narrow and deep as though a knife had cut through the land (St. Lawrence River). They would stop seven times to create villages, but they would know that their journey was complete when they found food growing on the water. If they did not leave, there would be much suffering and they would be destroyed. They would be pursued and attacked by other nations along the way, so they must be strong and ready to defend themselves. The Second Prophet told them they could recognize the Second Fire because while they were camped by a sweet water sea (Niagara Falls) they would lose their direction and that the dreams of a little boy would point the way back to the true path, the steppingstones to their future. The Third Prophet said that in the Third Fire the Anishinaabe would find the path to the lands prepared for them and they would continue their journey west to the place where the food grows upon the water (Canada, Michigan, Wisconsin). The Fourth Prophet was two who came as one. The first told them to expect a race of people who had light skin. The future of the Anishinaabeg would be known by the face the light-skinned people would wear. If they came in brotherhood (the French) there would be a time of wonderful change. New knowledge would be joined with the old knowledge and the two peoples would join to make a mighty nation (Canada). If they come carrying a weapon and if they seem to be suffering, beware (the British). Behind this face is greed. You shall recognize the face of death if the rivers are poisoned, and the fish are unfit to eat (America). The Fifth Prophet said that in the time of the Fifth Fire there will be a struggle between the way of the mind of the light-skinned people and the natural path of spirit of the many nations of natural people. As this fire loses its heat there will come among the people those who promise great joy and salvation. If the people accept this promise and abandon the old ways, the struggle will continue for many generations. This promise is false, and it will nearly destroy those who accept it. The Sixth Prophet told them that in the time of the Sixth Fire it would be clear that the promise accepted during the Fifth Fire was false. For those who were deceived by this promise will take their children away from the teachings of the elders. The elders will lose their purpose in life and many will become sick and die. Many people will be out of balance and the cup of life will become the cup of grief. The Seventh Prophet was younger than the others who had come when there was a glowing light from his eyes. He said there would come a time when the waters had been so poisoned that the animals and plants that lived there would fall sick and begin to die. Much of the forests and prairies would be gone so the air would begin to lose the power of life. The way of the mind brought to the red, black and yellow nation by the white nation would bring danger to the whole earth. In this time, there will be a new people who emerge from the clouds of illusion. They will retrace their steps to find the treasures that had been left by the trail. The stories that had been lost will be returned to them. They will remember the Original Instructions and find strength in the way of the circle. Their search will take them to the elders and the new people will ask for guidance. But many of the elders will have walked the Path of the Souls to the Star Web. Many elders will have forgotten their wisdom and will not be able to help. Some of the elders will point in the wrong directions and others will remain silent because of their fear. Some elders will be silent because no one has asked them for their wisdom. If the New People will find trust in the way of all things, in the circle, they will no longer need the selfish voice of the ego and they can begin to trust their inner voice. Wisdom will be once again found in dreams of the night and of the day. The sacred fire will once again be lit. The light-skinned people will be given a choice between two paths. If they choose the right path, the Seventh Fire will light and the Eighth Fire and final fire of brotherhood and sisterhood. If they choose the wrong path, remaining on the path of the mind, then the destruction they brought with them will come back to destroy them. The people of the earth will experience suffering and death. Along the Great Salt Water in the East, life was full and rich for the people, the Anishinaabeg. After the Seven Prophets came to them, there were many large gatherings to discuss their predictions. Many people did not want to move away from their homes with their families and begin a long migration through strange lands. Some unselfishly supported those who believed in the power of the prophecies and were ready to follow because they thought it was in some way part of the Creator's Plan (Possibly, the earliest Ojibwe). One group supported the plans to follow the Megis into the unknown lands of the setting sun, but they pledged to stay and care for the eastern fire of the people. These people were the Wa-bun-u-keeg', (Wabanaki) the People of the Dawn. Five hundred years later they would be among the first to be caught in the death and suffering by the light-skinned people that had been promised. By the time of the Fourth Fire, their homes, families and villages were torn apart and they would be scattered, lose their roots and their dominion. Today, these people are the Abenaki. These are my people. The U.S. government does not recognize their sovereignty as a tribal entity. Many Abenaki have moved to Wisconsin and Michigan to rejoin their lost relatives in hopes to start the Seventh Fire. Today, the O-dah-wahg' are the called the Ottawa, or Odawa. They were responsible for providing the people with their food and supplies and were known as the Keepers of the Trade. The O-day'wah-to-me are called the Potawatomi. They were responsible for tending the fire and hearth, they were known as the Keepers of the Fire. The Ojib-way are called the Ojibwe, commonly known by another name, the Chippewa. They were known as the Keepers of the Faith. As a proud descendant from the Ojibwe, we have kept faith.

If you put aside dates, looking at your map and the description for the Talegus in the red record. It is a match but not for the Cahokians, for they are too far south. The Talegus or moundbuilders cities and forts were near the great lakes region according to the red record. The only moundbuilders around 200+CE was the Hopewell who are gone by 400CE. The Lenni-Lanape say they inhabited the lands of the Talegus near the great lakes which is Hopewell land. After the Hopewell there are no moundbuilders around the great lakes. The next moundbuilder nation shows up south, down the Mississippi, where the Lenni-Lanape said they drove the Talegus. It all fits, The Hopewell, your map, oral histories of Native Americans, and the red-record.

actually the potawatomi go back with their ottawa and ojibwe brothers back to one anishinaabe people thats why ojibwe says boozhoo but potawatomi says bozho. if you go deeper the anishinaabe came from a mixture of the cree and abenaki and if you go deeper than that.. cree, abenaki, blackfoot, shawnee and the others go back to proto algonquian because they call a river sipi or how potawatomi likes to say it zibi or zibé because in languages you can swap s and z or b and p and so you see this in the word for river
