Dude, that is a typical Maine hunting experience, anticipation, excitement, you just never know. I'd rather do that, than sit and watching 5-20 or more deer a day out of a hunting shed/blind and trying to decide which one to shoot. In Maine, every interaction is a win, whether you harvest something or not. Keep up the good work!
I'm surprised to see you not hunting on your new land. Equally as surprised that you would hunt where others hunt. I'm just stoked that you finally got a nice buck. Can't wait to watch that hunt. I wish for you and your family to have a safe and fun Holiday Season!
I feel ya Jeff, hunting New England is tough especially Maine , Vermont and NH where I live. I put in 11 solid hunts this fall and saw a total of 5 deer, three were bucks but none offered a shot opportunity, that’s hunting in the Northeast . One of the reasons I love hunting with my buddies over in Missouri every year besides just hanging out with my good friends is that I will see more deer in a single sit than I usually see all season in NH. All that being said , I love this part of the country and will probably never leave , plus we always have the possibility that we can get a tracking snow and then the real fun begins. Keep putting out the excellent videos whether you kill one or not , I never find em boring when you’re portraying the reality of hunting. If people want to see a kill every time, they can head over to RealTree Outdoors and watch all the canned hunts they want. I prefer to watch the guys that hunt more like I do. Have a great Christmas.
Were I hunt I see alot of deer & shoot a lot of deer but this year I had a baby the weekend before bow openers & I just got done moving. I didn't get to go out much but when I did, i didn't see the deer I'm used to seeing. Bow openers was 9/17 & I didn't see or shoot anything until 11/15. So it has been a crazy year for me. But for you I think it's like you said, you just need to get to know the land & how the deer use it.
Nothing wrong with a "real" video of maine hunting, I only saw 2 deer this year. One was opening morning 100 feet from my stand but my daughter couldn't get a good shot and the other one was too close to a house.
Still like your videos even if you don’t see anything. During my hunt in NH this year I only saw one Deer. Luckily everything lined up and I was able to connect with him and make it happen but I know it could have just as easily gone the other way.
