I ran into a similar situation, my family had what I call a Maine Blue ie Maine Coon/Russian Blue mix. He passed away years ago yet there was a stray, a female who looked and acted a lot like him. She came up to me one day and seemingly acted like she knew me. I could not help but wonder if that was what happened. I took her in and has been with me since.

I had a situation like that. We lost our beloved Édouard to a urinary blocage. I didn't know the symptoms and the first vet we saw messed up the diagnostic. By the time he was treated by a vet who took a minute to examinate him, it was too late. Precisely a month later, someone rings at the door and two town workers are there, with a kitten. Long story short, we kept him and realised he was a month old. We say either Édouard reincarnated or he sent him to mess with us, as he's a very energetic, spicy, dingus cat. He'll be three in september. His name is Merry and, yes, he has a Pippin.

My sister in law had this happen! Her cat Monti had to be put down due to blood cancer. Her cat she has now named Dan was born around the same time Monti passed! They look so similar as well!

Cat person: I found this mother cat and her newborn kittens in my house. I don't know how she got in here, but now I have 4 cats.

My cat Trance passed away in the summer, the way we got him was that my mom was smoking a cigarette on the porch and some kids had a kitten following them around. Apparently, none of their parents would let them keep him. Well, my mom was like "sure, I'll take him" and he just walked right into the house once the door was open. He was still extremely young, but he was already a TNR cat (had a clipped ear). Got him treatment for fleas and got him cleaned up from all of the sticker burrs on him. Also dealt with it when he was running around the house backwards because he was scared of his own puke. 💀 He was a sweet cat with his lil tiny teeth. He was fluffy too.

I only last two weeks after the passing of my 17 year old Sunny girl…. I couldn’t stand sleeping alone and rescued another precious furbaby who loves to snuggle 🥰

After my sweet dog passed away I got a new dog, a adult rescue who was abused really badly and is now very anxious because of it. I figured if my sweet girl could give me so much love and support all her life, the best thing I could do to honor her kind heart was to open my home up to someone who needed a kind loving place to be. My girl always welcomed everyone with open arms and lots of licks, whether it be a new kitten sibling or a friend visiting. Even though I miss her dearly and always will, it does my heart good to know that this new boy is safe, loved, and cared for. I’d know if she was still here she would’ve become best friends with him, would’ve supported him and helped him when he’s scared/nervous.

Similar happened to me Had a 3 legged fluffy grey calico cat, she passed. When we got a new cat, she ended up being a grey calico. We thought she was a shorthair, but she grew a lot of fur. They look very similar.

Years ago my daughter was staying in my spare room while searching for another place. She came home from work one night with this starving cat. Under a year so technically still a kitten. We had lost our oldest cat at 20 then her two daughters when they were 19. I hadn't had a cat in three years. Tried to find her owner even taking her in twice to be scanned. No luck. In the meantime she became my cat. Ordering me to bed by 11. Running to the door meowing like a dog barks when someone was at the door. Haven't been without one since.

@@anitasimpson1522 I have a cat that used to do that, picked him up from the local shelter when he was 3 weeks to foster him (very much a task failed successfully, he never went back) and we wouldn’t let him outside for ages because he was just a little guy so he started ‘barking’ at the door and acting like a dog (I have 2) I think he was trying to convince us he was secretly a dog and that we could let him outside

@Savannah S I did, went to all the neighbors and places where I found him and nobody claimed him. He had no collar on, and wasn't chipped when we got him to the vet.

Our fuzzy ones want us to be happy (for the most part) I have 3 cats usually they are being cats. Then sometimes they are extraordinary. When you lose a beloved pet it can be hard to love again. I lost my guinea pigs to a dog attack when I was a little girl and it took me roughly 10 years to 1, not start crying at the thought of them, and 2, to be able to love again. The cat that opened up my heart is still with me today and I'm so grateful for him, he's my baby 🥰 Time healed the wound but he faded the scar. ❤❤❤
