Just celebrated my 78th Solar Return, I've witnessed, been around a lot of musical artists, but this girl, this girl stands alone for countless reasons. Choosing to sing seasoned, strong, influential black womens' music is paramount to me. Born in 1945, growing up with those women, empowered me and women of my generation. I cannot wait to buy Ani's music and attend , with my grandaughter, her concerts. And, the fact her name comes from Swahili roots warms my heart.
