@@josemeridian1239 Very true indeed. We should not take the word of inadequate people. We should act based on the facts and evidence. It is also true that a thing should be accepted based on the what is said and not who said it. All of that is true and very good. However the point is that some people cannot be argued with because they don't know enough and even if they did know the facts they can't interpret the facts in the correct oder. And science is not about being obnoxious and clumsy. It has nothing to do with making fun of others. It has nothing to do with talking to the public. It doesn't even have anything to do with speaking the truth either. Doing what you think is good falls under Political. "Polity" is Greek for city-state( state's were very small back then). Politics is concerned with taking action. Politics does not mean CPM, BJP, etc. For eg. some people even use the expression "office politics" to refer to the power struggles that go on within a department. Politics is concerned with action and this action is proportional to power. Even you're science admits to the nature of the relation between action and power; it is in Modern Physics where they discovered the equation for Power. But we generally use the word Influence. The most powerful man on India is Modi because he has the ability to make this happen, to make changes, etc. Mr. Ravi Chandran is trying to make changes in society. And a person can have one political opinion, an another can have another political opinion. For eg. I think religion does more good than harm and that we should encourage Christian Churches to continue their work to help the poor and the sick. And Muslim aid organisations from the UK in their efforts to help the malnourished parts of the Islamic world liie Afghanistan which is now sadly under the rule of the Taliban. Afghan is also one of the biggest producers of a certain kind of drug. Mr. Ravi Chandran do not have inherent qualities to be a scientist or a philosopher. The word "science" which wr borrow from English actually comes from the Latin verbum: "scire"( which simply means "know"). So in summary Politics is about action and Science is about knowledge. It's important not to confuse science with people like Ravi Chandran; some scientists are nice people. I find geologist and certain kinds of biologists to be nice scientists. There are also Archaeologists who are pretty cool. Ofcourse many of these fields are so specialised. I actually don't know many sciences but I plan to familiarise myself with some. I know some sciences that are not accepted by other scientists who work in a different field. For eg. I tried to be familiar with "parapsychology"( which studies ghosts, and cases of huntings, etc. And other unexplained things) but it is not a good science, but there are many books on the subject; I want to read some if I get time. A Physicist will try to deny many "parapsychology" but a Botanist may not, they'll simply say I don't know. I'm probably wasting my time here. Much of this is mattter of people's opinion, and problem with people lile Ravi Chandran he'd too ambitious, unlikely to get to a point to where he can begin to realise how delicate things can be. (Anyway, this is the what they say about Power. Youcan use this to understand Power with in Politics. Politics studies power with respect to social sphere. But in Physics the same word/expression, "power" is Work Done divided by time. So what is "Work Done"? "Work Done" is "Force" multipled by "Distance")

There is an evolution tree for a butterfly and a flower, same goes for our nose which can smell that flower and our eyes seeing the butterfly. Science is a tool to take away ignorance and to look at things rationally. Putting in terms like "infinite consciousness" or another word 'god' simply blinds you from searching the actual truth. Simple advice - understand what's evolution. Even the basics of evolution solves these simple doubts of yours. Smell of the flower wasn't placed there by anybody to attract the insect. Rather the Plant species with flowers that smell survived since it attracted the insects for pollination . Flower species without smell perished or evolved into something else with different survival tactics. Previously lightning was thought to be god's wrath but now we know lightning is just lightning thereby moving 'god' to the next gap in human knowledge. All gods and your " infinite consciousness" can do is keep moving to the next gap until science fills that too.

Evolution doesn't hold. It fails to answer the notion quality aspect found between man and the monkey. Quality is that which makes a thing what it is( this is the quality as spoken by Aristotle in his account of four causes or answers to the question "why"). Going back individualan per individual man, we find at a certain point the qualitative difference between man and the monkey has to be taken to be given from an unknown source. People who tend to believe in evolution believe they are explaining everything by having recourse to "accidents", "chance", "dumb luck", etc; religious in general can be found holding to the view that "there is no such thing as an accident" or more common ( with respect to hollywood movies and modern culture) "everything happens for a reason"( which is really a permutation of saying "when God closes a door he opens a window". We can expand the account of evolutionism further than the men and monkeys, and it will be found that it the first life form also formed from as an accident ( in volcanic ocean floor where particles collided with each other till one specific combination achieved life, and then a combination that achieved life also achieved the ability to multiple) Evolutionism is also in discord with the 2nd law of thermodynamics which states that forms undergo corruption over time. The research reveals that the first humans were a lot smarter than modern ones, so thT would indicate that opposite of evolution may actually be taking place. The brain size if taken as an indication of mental power then they had bigger brains. And before the agricultural revolution, man was self-reliant and and was using his senses and his powers to more( I get this latter point from that famous book by by that Israeli author and titled "Sapiens"). We can take evolutionary hypothesis beyond animals to the cosmos itself and it is found that the everything started from a "big bang". This is the same argument that the a budhhist sect, notably in Nagaarguna argued, which is called by learned men as "shunya vada"( aslo those Buddhists arguments are far more sophisticated than modern atheists, which can be taken as more evidence for the loss of form with respect to society, and culture or education in general and the seriousness or lack there of with which man took by these matters of foremost importance then as opposed to now, when it is taken as a form of amusement)

gireesh neroth I guess on a scientific preface we can say the probability exists for other life existing somewhere, that’s inside our universe. The scope for the study gets bigger as we explore further. There’s an explanation for every life form on earth. Just to add, we are searching for the same. But all this never answers anyone’s childhood stories or handwritten books or the so called local god.
