Rachel is amazing. She spoke on my online summit this year. I'll be traveling to Alabama in November to speak at Daryl's herb conference and there are a lot of really great speakers there. I just ordered some rabbit tobacco seeds from Prairie Moon Nursery. I am praying they germinate. 🙏

Oh our sweet gal, you’re one in a million! I was born in the wrong century too! My love is of old things and the old ways… Yes, we do fit ourselves in with the present, but yearn for our ancestors’ knowledge of making it on a little of nothing and surviving! Love your videos! It’s hard to know how a space will work for you unless you just try something and it’s smart to pivot so the space works better. I think you are making wise choices. And as for you moving and gaining more land, I can’t think of anyone who has used the space they have more efficiently. That is a good way to qualify for the Lord giving you more. I like your dress!

As to the copper. I have several pieces that belonged to my mother. If you are interested, you may have them. I would be happy to give/ship them to you. They have hung on the kitchen wall for over 40 years. As for cooking, a good cast iron dutch oven can be used in so many ways. Get one with the short legs. It can be used on a grate, directly in the coals, etc. Stay away from enameled types. They are more suited to traditional ovens. Invest in some cast iron loaf pans. I can use all of the above to cook in various venues. A standard cast iron dutch oven can also be used. Get a tripod or make one. I make bread in a cast iron dutch oven over a fire. Raised beds are a bonus for gardening. I still have an inground section, but that will be going away. The pro's are earlier planting and less stooping. Some weed control. They con's are the initial expense, but upkeep is a five or more year rotation for replacement. The wood cookstove. Everyone knows Lehmann's. Great products, but can be pricy. Look into camp stoves. They can be used for small places and you can do a lot with them. Get a duel fuel oven. Yes, they are small but can be used with either biofuel or 6 hour gel fuel canisters. You could easily make an outdoor oven. There are so many plans available online. I love this video. Thank you for sharing your future dreams and plans. God Bless.

Heather at Sage and Stone Homestead has a horizontal bee hive as well. I believe her husband built it for her. She has so elbow issue and needed something she didn’t have to lift as much. I’m not a beekeeper so I have no idea if it’d be difficult to build tho!

We have the best luck with raised beds also. We have tried to do traditional gardens but I swear the previous owners of our house just dumped in fill to make it even. We have even found bricks and metal buried in the yard!

I have some Balm of Gilead I got from health store. It has tallow in it and it's good for dry/eczema skin. I use it on my heels. Sooo good.

Enjoy watching! Would you share where you sourced the boneset? My mom would talk about boneset tea that my nana would make all the kids take and just how horrible it was but it worked! I have never heard of anyone else speak of boneset. I had no idea it may have been an herb! Thank you!

Thank you! I actually grew it this year, I sourced seeds from strictly medicinal but did see you can find it dried from lots of herbal websites. Starwest botanicals and frontier had it!
