I can do an LDR one. When the dumper suggests "taking a break" he or she usually does so to soften the blow. Unless you amicably agreed you would stay apart due to the physical distance, all I can say is wait and see. If everything was okay in the relationship, the distance shouldn't break you up.

The real break-up already occurred on the day he proposed a break. All you can do is give him what he wants - space. And if he does come back, you have to be really careful how you accept him back. If he thinks he can walk in and out as he pleases, the same event is going to recur.
