I enjoy your content. I must say that going from "in" to "by means of" to "by" seems like an inappropriate choice. I think Paul means "in" and there are several ways to think of this. In this context I think it means in the name of Christ or under his covenantal rule we have been created, but also in the very person of Jesus himself we were created. Just earlier it was said we were made alive with Christ and raised up with him. Jesus resurrection was a rebirth or recreation event and arguably the beginning of the new creation. So since we are united with Christ, because he was raised up so are we, because he was reborn so are we, and because he was recreated so are we. That's why it says if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. This is why Colossians says what it does: Colossians 3:3-4 *_For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory._* The new creation life that we will ultimately become has already been recreated in the resurrected person of Jesus, whom we have been raised with, and when Jesus, whose resurrection life is our life, appears we will participate fully in his life and glory.
