Thanks for watching everyone, on Patreon there is an extended reaction that's 5 minutes longer with much less audio editing and longer clips of the film. You can also find a full-length version where you can sync up the movie and watch along with me. patreon.com/will_watches
Great reaction. I think one of the reasons why they might not know about Heroes is because the story takes place in the early ‘90s. Even though David Bowie is a popular musician, the only way you could find music was by going into the stores or hoping it would come back on the radio.
The way this film treats trauma is very well handled. They didn't even glorify the violence in the fight scene in the cafeteria: it was very clear that everyone including Charlie was frightened of it.
It's one of the best changes from the book, the violence is a little more glorified in the book, he blacks out and beats someone else up at the beginning and Charlie speaks about how his brother taught him how to take out bigger guys by going for the eyes and throat, he also remembers all of the cafeteria fight instead of going black out
Even if they had showed it, that wouldn't be "glorifying violence." Someone using violence in such a situation, where it's necessary, is honorable, courageous and a display of strength as a trait.
And yeah, Ezra Miller is a great actor, it's such a pity that he's a bit... well. Sad if we're not going to see him any new movies in the future. Not that his latest movies are that great, couldn't care less about any superhero movies but his older movies are definitely worth watching! Especially We Need To Talk About Kevin and Another Happy Day.
Everyone wake up, Will uploaded a new video 🗣📢 This was one of the first movies that I actually loved and enjoyed as an early teenager so it has a big space in my heart with the book as well, love to see you reacting to it ^^
Lovely film, I remember it coming out when I was around 15 and it definitely provided some solace. Also, Will, you HAVE TO watch The Fall by Tarsem Singh- you'll love it!
Honestly, even tho as freshman making friends with seniors can be a good thing cause they can help u with a lot of stuff since their smarter and just give u advice for modern day high school , and just like imo as freshman u can have more fun with seniors cause u can do a bit more with them . But that’s where charlie messed up. He kinda came into high school with zero friends , gained a great group of friends but their all seniors , so essentially as soon as they left for college he would be back at square one . But still it’s a great movie , one of my favs . As someone who graduated in 2021, its prob the best interpretation of a modern day high school experience
