Oh my gosh, this was the BEST! We laughed and smiled SO MUCH rewatching this 😂 Me and Jenn applying chamois butter together, Jenn's bee stung looking face, our foursome ice bath. As a lifelong Iowan, I was so pleased to see your adventurous spirit brought you to our fair state. Personally, I have had zero desire to ever ride RAGBRAI but I love the spirit of those who submit to the challenge! My husband and I watched every one of your Loop videos and you guys always do such a great job. The only negative to this one though? No Ollie!! Wishing you all the best. This has to be your best video so far.

The best thing about doing last year’s RAGBRAI is knowing it will never be more crowded than it was (as it was the 50th anniversary, so there were a lot of extra riders) and it can’t possibly get hotter*. (*one would hope!) Last year was the hottest RAGBRAI - start to finish - in decades. So if/when you do it again, you’ll not only know the basic do’s and don’ts, but it can only be cooler and a few less thousand people. 😅

I've been a big fan of your looping adventures. I was doubtful about how much your adventures off the water would hold my attention. However, you two are just so nice and kind, and your videos are so well done, that I think I could enjoy watching you mow yards or paint fences. My wife and I (married 33 years now) really appreciate how kind and supportive you are to each other. In the words of some old 80's story, "Stay Gold..."

About halfway through watching now. Ice cream churns powered by 1 cylinder engines. Older ones called hit and miss motors! Great job. You know Le Tour starts in a few days, think there are ways to ride each section either before or after the professionals do it. You're ready for it! Bucket list for next year? Congrats Team JAKE (and everyone else who was along for the ride). Glad you guys didn't have any injuries (except for sore butts). While riding in this heat, wear white or light-colored clothes. Calories? Don't worry - you'll burn them off! How many riders were there? At one point Jenn, your face looked blistered - OUCH!!! Welcome to Tornado Alley (I live in Tulsa). Just wondering: Jenn were you screaming because the water was cold or because you were sitting in Elliott's lap? (43:30). By the end, I was crying - not only because you guys finished the ride, but I realized just what I was missing with my trike being in the shop. Bike riding has really changed my life!

I remember the loop reference now. When you were passing someone you should have told them you were going to pass on the 1 or the 2. 🤣🤣🤣

- 2017 RAGBRAI alum. Was a bucket list item. Did it on a recumbent. My posterior is still thanking me. - If you enjoyed on a smaller scale you might like Bike Virginia. Or if you want a more wine and cheese crowd Pedal Across Wisconsin (PAWS) this group also does some winter tours in Fla. - Enjoyed your ride.

Elliott...hopefully you tightened your helmet straps! If they are loose like that, your helmet has a good chance of not protecting your head if you crashed

Congrats on doing this event. I did something similar like 40 something years ago in Georgia. It was called GASBE, or the Georgia Across State Bike Event. No more GASBE. Now they have both mini and the BIG BRAG, (Bike Ride Across Georgia.) This same organization has several other events, one is the Tour of North Georgia which goes through the North Georgia Mountains. That has to be something. There are some serious mountains in Georgia. I didn't look to see, but I'd not be surprised to see if they go up to Brasswell Bald, the highest point in Georgia at several thousand feet. The Big BRAG goes from Atlanta to Savannah. They also have a spring tune up ride. The organization also has a Loire Valley ride in France. Sort of a mini Tour De France. Are you guys going to do this one again or do a bike event in another state? You could do the Big BRAG and really challenge yourselves. Looking forward to the video featuring your new adventure. I do kind of wish that the video was released much closer to real time and not almost a year later. I know you guys are busy people and it takes a long time to put hours and hours of video together into a coherent and interesting narrative. Your production schedule is pretty much on par with the production of TV series and short doc films. There is a part of me though that wishes the events are closer to real time. I'm not being critical, just sort of frustrated about the lag time, I suppose. I'm sure that when I get a boat and start doing some cruiseung, if I decide to shoot video for RU-vid, I too will wind up being a year behind as well from the time of the trips until the videos get posted, so I'll give a pre-emptive mea culpa on that. One thing interesting about me doing something in Iowa, after leaving the service in 1987, I went back to college to finish my degree. I was on my university's National Mock Trial Team. The competition was held in the chambers of the Iowa Supreme Court, put on by Drake University in Des Moines. Our team won the competition and we redid our "trial" before all the members of the Iowa State Supreme Court. My role was doing a direct examination of the defendant. I made it through my five minute but, which is a wonder because I was so sick with a nasty flu. I am originally from the "other Iowa," AKA Ohio. Both states are very similar in nature. I'm very well experienced in dealing with Midwestern Thunderstorms and Tornadoes. Now I deal with hurricanes AND tornadoes down here in Florida. Take care y'all and have fun.
