This guy is worthy of working for you maybe part-time tracking things down and making things happen. He obviously loves motorcycles, and evidently he's got it goin on! This guy is no joke.✊
This was a really enjoyable tour of this interesting gentleman's collection. This is the kind of YT content I enjoy, not some fake ass trying to be TV crap. Just real people, real stories to tell && knowledge to share. Couldn't have asked for more. Great stuff. Amazing bikes, flawlessly maintained & impeccable taste. 10/10
Unbelievable!!! I've had more than 220 motorcycles so far but am still envious of his choices. This gentlemen is a Gem !! Love the Cb1000, the xl600, the ZRX etc...true enthusiast. Thank you mr Kaplan for sharing with us.
Just unbelievable ! Those big bore air cooled honda's look so dam good! My dream pick would be someone's buell collection of nos bikes! Well I can dream😴
Wow just wow. Thanks for giving the time to the seller to give a small explanation of each of the bikes. I really appreciate talking to you older guys, seems like your area has a lot of passion for motorcycles still!
Ken, I know you! You owned that great Motorcycle Museum! The New England Norton Owners (NENO) had one of our monthly meetings at your museum; what a excellent place! I didn't recognize your voice because we have never met, I made the connection when you turned the camera on yourself. You Sir are a man of taste and refinement; I'd love to shake your hand. Too bad you shut down your museum, that place had a great collection of MINT motorcycles! It's good to see that you are still active with motorcycles! You are a great steward of vintage motorcycles and motorcycling. Excellent that you passed your love of motorcycling on to your son. This is a thing of beauty. It's no surprise that I like your videos.
As a long time subscriber love this channel and its content never gets old with every video these are bikes most of us grew up with as kids and admiring Kaplan Cycles best on RU-vid..👍🏾
I wish I would have kept every single bike I’ve had. Unfortunately I had to sell every single one for financial reasons. 1993 Katana 600, 2001 SV650, 2001 KLR 650, and a 2008 R6. Been saving for my dream bike since high school 2004 ZX10R. This guy is legit living my dream. Thanks for the motivation.
That Vulcan 1500 I had one just like it I loved that bike man I would love to find another one and get back on it again I've been riding for over 35 years I just quit recently about 5 years ago now about to get back on it because I miss it so much I'm currently 56 years old your never too old to get back on and ride again fantastic Channel great content thanks Mr. Kaplan
To the seller , Much Respect to your attention to detail on those bikes, its the little things that add up to having something that is a true collectors item, I really liked the Honda Patriot XL 600 and the fact that you appreciate ATC's, we have that in common, To the Kapster, Thanks for letting me/us see this part of the Motorcycle Enthusiast World. you always create entertaining videos.
I had no idea they made the KE-100 for that long. A kid down the street from me had one when I was growing up, I think it was the first dirt bike I ever saw in person. Cool little bikes, especially in that kind of condition!
First time watching one of your videos . I really appreciate His and your passion for these bikes . Watched every minute and loved the vintage dirt bikes in mint shape .It took me back a few years . Thanks .
Man that Kd100 brings back memories lol, buddy of mine got 1 for Christmas and we all used it to get our motorcycle license lol, it was his Christmas present and he shared it with 4-5 people for about 2 years we would all use it to run around, pick girls up, living it up when we were 14 👍✌️
@@Cody_4 My best friend had one of these. 1999 model, but anyway, he rode his everywhere, even on the frikin highway! But his was always breaking somehow. His spokes kept stretching and needing tightened until they punctured the tube, the header pipe somehow got a hole in it, the case cracked...
@@DRZrider07 lol we never took it on the highway but we definitely rode it everywhere, we use to ride 3 people to parties, drop 2 people off go get 2 more lol ah to be young again lol
Wow that ke 100 is a definite keeper for the museum don’t see any of these bikes anymore was a great little bike too 👌🏻😎 takes me back to the days when I was learning to ride myself 😳
My Dad got me a used XR-75 for X-mas 1986, I would ride it every Sunday for 4 years, I would ride n ride until poor old Dad got too cold..! Still running when we sold it, No suprise I ride Honda 35 year on. Thanks guys, Great memories.
For real though, Justin, you have my respect. As a guitar guy, I know you pay a premium for Fender/Gibson custom shop to "relec" a brand new guitar. Unless you are trying to recreate SRV's #1, I'd prefer to "relec" my guitars through normal playing- and I baby my guitars like you baby your bikes.
I have to agree with you, i just cant understand relic ing a guitar. Ive loved guitars, motorcycles and surfboards since i was born i guess, never heard of relic job. I use them but dont tear em up, to me they are art. Form and function, i couldnt do it or buy one. I was a painter and detailer so my stuff allways looked super good. I dont know if that was a reply but i agree with you, put the wear on em yourself.👍
Got to have a lot of respect for a man with this type of mentality. Awesome bunch of bikes. The xl80 was an awesome piece to see in the collection. Good memories.
thanks a bunch kaplan america a real first class show you show em al watch em looking forward to more of the same cheers and best regards J.Y. at 73 !!
Ahh the KE100, takes me back. I'm 46 now, but when I was 17 years old I went to my nearest town to help my mother with her shopping, and came home with a 6 month old white KE100 - L registration (1993/94 UK) that an RAF pilot had owned for its first 6 months on the road to gain a bit of confidence before upping his game after passing his riders licence. It had about 600 miles on it and was in mint condition. My mother had to sign as a guarantor on my first ever finance deal and I rode home from our shopping trip with my first ever legal road bike. Better still, my friend had a green J reg (1991/92 UK) and we road the wheels of them. Total freedom ! I've never been without a motorcycle since and currently ride a ZRX1200r in green (the fast colour 😝)
That is the nicest collection I have ever seen and i have seen a few I build custom street rods and rat rods so I have met many car and bike collectors and restors this dude is 1000000% up there wow !!!!!! And Im the same way I buy parts NOS xtra alwYs never know what ull need and it adds value to bike and collection Super impressed and would love to see avideo of his complete collection Thanks for video Kaplan so great
I agree, I knew a ke100 and 2 175s from the day, if I remember they where more of a dark green and filthy muddy. But to see a lime green one that clean, it really pops out
I remember when some of these gems were ten to a penny the memories of joyriding around young and free god bless America 🇺🇸 god bless Ireland 🇮🇪 love the content man keep the videos coming ❤🙏
Hi Ken, i think the term for the Yamaha custom paint scheme is…….speed block, It started with Kenny Roberts racing Yamah’s and was synonymous with all his bikes. That gentleman has an awesome collection of bikes, every one is a stunner.
What an awesome collection!! You did good on that one Kap! The second I saw he had the oil cap wired, no doubt he is super anal about upkeep on his bikes. All great bikes! Great minds think alike! CB, ZRX, ZX11, SV 1k, all bikes Im very familiar and love! The 86 and 87 XL 600s in white, blue and red and IMHO were the coolest of the XLs ever. The red white and blue XL 600s will always hold a special place, two of my childhood friends were killed on one in 1991 at the age of 20 ripping around doubles on one at a summer party. Guy collects and builds ATCs too! Give that man a beer!
back when I was 240lbs (200 now) I took a KE100 on a 600+ mile round trip to watch the eclipse. I had my ruck sack full of camping gear plus a gas can. 50mph the whole way baby!
I bought a '93 early release xr650l in the fall of '92. I was a Navy guy stationed at Biggs Army Airfield in El Paso. I used to ride with some Army "tankers" who were on a kx200 and 250. It's not that I was so good, it's that they really sucked. I rode their wheels off! That 650L had the best forks I've ever known. I sold it 6 months later to get a 500R, but, 30 years later, it's still the most memorable bike I've ever had. The XR motor is bullet proof. God Bless Al Baker.
I have watched many of your videos, but this one and one I saw earlier hooked me! I’m now a subscriber and a huge fan of the older dirt bikes like I used to ride. I had a mid 70’s Husqvarna 360 C.R. motocross bike, a mid 70’s Penton 250 Hare Scrambler, Yamaha 360 D.T. just to name a few. Keep up the good work and God bless you and your family and all your workers.
Glad they are people like this guy who put some of the old bikes up So the next generation can see how and what we played with as youngsters Which I still have quads and last year Honda 125 but love seeing bikes from my youth
I just sold my 05 kdx 200 looks like that klx which I almost bought one the day I got the kdx I rode both and kdx was lighter and more my style I wish I didn’t sale it
The suspension on the dirt version of the klx400 is the same as the dual sport but the dirt only version had a thinner head gasket and made a little more power. The drz400sm was the only one with different suspension and swing arm, the sm had rm250 suspension and renthal fat bars.
I Became an Addict in 72. The Smell of Two Stroke! & Salt water! Intoxicating! Been Struggling with My addiction since age 14. 63 Now! & its STILL a Rush! Be well God Bless.
I thought I saw an episode with a Yamaha RT 360 in it but didn’t have time to watch it, do you have a video with the old 360 Enduro? That’s what I learned to ride on at 10-11 years old
i have a '79 Kawasaki KDX400, an '72 Suzuki TS185, and a 1980 Kawasaki KE175 in the shop waiting to be restored and ridden. this channel really gets me motivated to get them done!
Well the KE100 is phenomenal and my two doors down neighbor picked up a minty restored '80, i believe, KE100 in red and is riding around the block with it. Really nice to see the old two strokes still gettin it.
You’re just great! My ex boyfriend introduced me to your channel and I recommend it to everyone. You are knowledgeable, wise in your choices and you make me laugh too. I hope you stay on top!
That 1986 XL600r 😍 I was shouting at the video thinking you were going to skip looking it over 🤣 getting parts for these is no joke especially clean undamaged fairings never mind NOS ones
“Runs like a sewing machine!” That’s a great way to put it! Had a KE 100 as a kid. Blue one. It had a weird 2-stroke oil pump and tank. Pumped into carb. I’ll take the 83 CB Custom... 😳🤤 WOW!
Hello. Love the bikes and it's awesome that you share. Came across some old Kawasaki 750 triples. It would be cool to see them in your shop. Want to share with you.
Man.. omg.. Kaplan man I know you guys have to make money but man these bike and all the other vintage bikes you guys restore (like they should be) the bikes for smiles that you spread ... it's on my bucket list to see the museum...
How much for the cagiva boss 500? Really wanting to get a 500 and love the boss 500 you guys have. Either that or a kx500. Do you guys have any of those for sale also? Thanks.
I use to have the same XL80 when I was a kid. I use to use it to pull Mack my dads Harley drag bike. I loved that bike. I gave it to my best friend for his son.
