This week we hop aboard our first sailing catamaran, a Seawind 1160 Deluxe, to complete the Survey, Haul-Out and Sea Trial of our new home! While my Marley (golden doodle) is big but nothing like Winston. You pave the way I’ll take notes for sure. Yes the dinghy ride will be enjoyed by all. Fair winds and following seas.

Thank you!!! We are still enjoying the days on the water and not ready to sell yet. 😆 This was huge because it was the biggest step to a new lifestyle.

Happy for you getting a boat. Nice to see you're friends of the Kelly's, I've been following them for years. I'm rather close to where they're from. They live in Portland, Oregon and I live in Washington State about 90 miles north. I'll be following you folks as well, have fun.

We originally thought it would be years before we started living our dream but took the plunge and we realized now that nothing could really prepare us for this. We've learned so much, yet still so much to learn. Are you planning to buy a boat? Do you want to begin sailing? Or do you already sail?

Bought a Catalina 25 to learn on. Deciding whether I want a Catamaran or typical boat when I go bigger.@@pdgadventures

@@DellaDeLobos well, we'll be honest here, we've always been monohull sailors and the catamaran definitely handles (and moves) much differently while underway so that has taken some getting used to. And, yes, you do spend a lot of time on anchor when you're out cruising and catamarans handle the anchor life very nicely in both livability and comfort on anchor.

@@dd214veteran we are thinking about doing a Bahamas tour this winter/spring of '24 and high tailing it north (like Canada north) for the summer. What kind of boat are you looking at?

Yes, but an apartment that can point to 35 degrees and still sail at speeds comparable to a monohull of 10-15% greater waterline on that same point of sail. So there's that.
