Wow, in my 20 years of rving, I have never heard of a dealership swapping out an rv after the sale. Kudos to Crestview. Too bad we're in South Carolina. Good luck in your future travels.
We have a motorhome (not fifth wheel) so take this with a grain of salt. But, for your safety, I don’t think you want to be between the fifth wheel and the truck when he’s moving forward. If God forbid y’all forgot a step and the fifth wheel wasn’t properly grounded, you could have all of the weight crush both you and the truck.
It’s happened with the RV OD Couple RU-vid channel. It’s a scary and nasty situation. We bought a used 5TH wheel for 6 months in Missouri and 6 months in Arizona, which we just moved from. I was watching that video. I’m very leery of hooking it up. Safety first. I am used to towing 30-40’ boats, this is just a lot different when hooking on the tow vehicle. Stay safe and never rush 🥰🥰😇
As a fulltime Boondocker/Rver I'll tell you this many people love all those electronic gadgets auto leveling fancy electric steps etc etc. I promise you all that stuff is not made to last and will continually have issue after issue after issue especially with fulltime use. I went back to all non electric everything nothing worse when one of your Jacks or steps malfunctions and is stuck down 200 miles away from any civilization. Its nice not to have a bunch of manual stuff to do but for everyday rv living the more things not electric the better just my personal fulltime opinion!! 1Luv and Goodluck on the Journey
Sorry guys! Been there, done that! After 2 brand new top of the line fifth wheels that kept malfunctioning we finally bought a used 2006 model that works every time and is totally paid for.
Your experience with a dealer is truly unique. They were amazing although how those issues got by them is also questionable. Your video just popped up in my feed and your video quality is great. My wife and I are retired and travel about half the year in our Solitude fifth wheel. Looking forward to following your journey.
I just found your channel. We just recently bought a 2022 Keystone Arcadia 3660rl. We are absolutely in love with it. We are full-time RVers also. I keep pinching myself everyday is this really my home. It seems like a dream come true. I do Handicapped Accessible campground reviews and products that can make a Disabled Person's life easier and everyone else.
You better put plastic things down they hold the support of the weight and you need to have plastic things down that are thick plastic or thick rubber. That’ll help with the balance.
Thanks for keeping in 100. It's unfortunate to know that most new RVs come with defects while you're making that huge investment in a product as such. However, really like your attitude when dealing with adversities. Great stuff guys!
I'm so glad that you guys did a video about NEW RV's and Motorhomes. IT IS such a painful and disappointing experience buying a new RV. Been there, Done THAT! How these RV retailers get away with it is unreal. I will never buy new again....look for 1 or 2 year old units that have been through the shake-down period. And NEVER, EVER buy from Camping world unless you bring your own jar of petroleum jelly!!!

Believe it or not we had a swap out after 11months after buying it ,it does happen and yes it wasn't, camping world thank goodness, glad to see they made it right, happy travels !!
Congratulations on the new RV. My wife and I bought our Arcadia 3250RL in August 2021 to live in full time. We instantly knew we wanted this trailer after looking at RVs for weeks straight. The floor plan and design didn’t seem like typically RV style. Happy travels!
Hey! Just watched with your new fifth wheel! Nice unit! Please do not get under that when unhooking!! Also with the ax on and it’s new you’ll get crap out of it. Last year I bought a brand new class c, same thing for a short while. Been doing this for awhile so get handy, carry tools, electric stuff, spare fuses, multimeter, and pex tools. Trust me there will come a time if you don’t already know. Best on your adventures and stay safe.
We went through the same thing last year. It’s a bitter sweet feeling. We did the same said goodbyes and thank you for being so awesome to our TT and hello to our 5th wheel. Great hitch we have the same one. Nice video thanks for sharing!

In a few months we are purchasing a fifth wheel. And going to do full time living. We plan on getting a full inspection. We heard during covid era manufacturers had a skimp on a bunch of stuff because of high demand and lack of employees. Happy 5th wheel living❤
I would like to encourage you to watch RV Street. He believes in preventive maintenance awesome at maintaining. Given me ideas on things I was not told about or told don't you don't need to worry about that.
I got a good laugh from your video, my wife and I bought an Arcadia last year and plan on going full time. Love everything about it except the quality. We had the exact same issues plus our TV fell off the wall day 1! We mostly gave up waiting for the dealer to fix things so I’ve been doing most of the work myself. Hey Jeremy, our latest problem is water leaking from the water heater. I’ve confirmed it’s not the hot or cold lines, or the anode rod or pressure relief valve. Could it be anything else other than a cracked tank?
@@MikeAshDid you open up the wall in the cargo compartment and check all the water lines? If all the lines and pumps in that area are dry, it’s could be a cracked water heater given that it’s ceramic.
My opinion always buy a few years older a lot cheaper and the previous owner has already fixed everything that’s is very true I haven’t stalked to anybody who has every bought new and was pleased all had issues and especially if you’re out deep boondocking not a very good pleasant experience out in the middle of nowhere with bad things happening

Where is the quality control on these new units...seems like they get slapped together and nothing is tested to ensure it works before it hits the dealer's lot.
Dealer didn't do a walkthru with you all hooked up before you drove it off? We bought a used TT (2020) in 2021 - one owner wanted to live FT and decided it wasn't big enough...used 9 mos. But, no warranty...We drove 4.5 hours to the dealer and they had it hooked up to water, propane, electric...a/c was running, fridge (12V) was COLD, no leaks...so far, we are very very happy with our rig. Being seniors, we decided to choose a model that we could live in FT when we can no longer handle our 27 ac. farm. Oh, and native Texans here!
My wife and I bought the 2021 wish it had the solar. We had a few minor problems also. Just a reminder when auto leveling always leave your steps up or you'll rack the door. We had stickers all over the wall by the stove, had to paint the wall. If you own an RV you will have problems. Hope you enjoy your travels.
I totally feel your pain! We bought a new 5th wheel in July, had multiple issues. Took it to the shop in August, just now got it back after 8 months later and hardly anything was fixed. It actually had more wrong when we got it back 😕
You received no instruction ? Once auto level is pushed, do not touch anything. 1st, chalk wheels, then disconnect. Still congratulations, you have a lot to learn.
They say when you go to a fifth wheel you’ll never go back to a trailer!! It’s so true!! If you go to a Motorhome when it breaks down you are without a home.
lol that did make me laugh when you first used the autolevel. The same happened to us on our first attempt but ours was due to our own ignorance! We did a swap from a TT to a new fifth wheel and thank goodness (like you) we had a great sales team and service center to work with us on issues. 6 months later and couldn't be happier.
I notice dealerships moving RV with the slides open while on the lot. Then when you get the RV in your possession and the slides won’t operate correctly
This is the reason my wife and I decided to think twice about a purchase. Costs of trucks !!!! And crap quality of builds !!! Good luck with your new RV
We had some of the same problems with the new 5th wheel we bought, also the guy at the dealership who was moving our camper out of the garage bay crashed the camper into my truck crushing the cab, breaking the window in the back and having the inside of the top drop. Then first trip our frig was bad and needs replaced, the slide in the living area leaked on the first rain and none of the canopy's would work. among other items like things coming of the walls.
Sorry to hear about all the issues. I have always wanted to jump in a new fifth wheel but we just have ours set up exactly how we like. We have a ram 3500 so I needed to lift the trailer up 2” I also wired in solar and mounted to the roof everything is hidden (no wires) we are not full time but the wife and I travel cross country. I just couldn’t justify the new cost of these trailers nowadays.
If you have the money change out the tires on the 5th wheel. They all come with junk and when one blows it does a lot of damage to the side of the trailer. You have one of the best hitches on the market, did you really need the slider or did you get talked into that?

Congrats! Any RV you get will have problems you are working with the dealer which is good and you have to be handy and that will come down the road you guys try to enjoy yourselves. Having a good dealer that will work with you is top notch, I have a Jayco 2019 and almost day one the dealer suck so now I want be going back there again. I told the guy that we were planning on buying a 2022 Pinnacle but I want be bring our business there again ever.
Hi Mike & Ash. The same thing happened to us only we didn't get the next year up and the salesman we liked and bought a n RV from before got fired because he wanted to give us the next year up. When we got it home and filled the water it all went in the under belly and we had to cut it open and get all wet to drain it and they had glued the wrong side of the panel in the bathroom so they just glued the other side and put it up so we had one panel with glue on the outside. I asked the dealer if the trailer was made on a Friday and everyone was on drugs. Good luck on your journey.
Sounds like the dealer maybe did the right thing in the end, but walk-thru, cleaning, - all of the above - should have been done before taking delivery. Rare to just pick up a fifth-wheel RV and haul it away with no prior checkout, walk-thru, instructional, tutorial, etc. That's a really bad dealer experience in my view. Appreciate the candor in the video and showing all of the issues you when through.
fyi.. i was reading on another site that at the convention for rv mfgs , that dealers across the country have complained about atrocious quality in ALL trailers being made during this pandemic.. Several are ashamed to even have to sell them they are so bad! Make sure to check everything out very well , every nut and bolt!! I think you may be puting a little to much faith in your dealer. I;m glad hes doing well by you , but honestly he at least should have caught the AC issue at the least!!I wish you best of luck with the new unit!
Put some F-26 on anything you dont want to come off.. that stuff makes liquid nail look like Elmer's glue.. best of 🤞🍀🍀. 😂 Awesome. Make sure you check everything before taking delivery..
I’m sorry, we have been in search of an RV for a couple of years, upon an almost purchase, the great switcharoo happened to us and we cancelled the order. There should be no downside to getting a new RV except depreciation. The dealer has an obligation and they don’t take care of that obligation. It is their fault if they say they have done their inspections and you have all those issues. That’s just how I feel. Best of luck to you.
Never much cared for the 5th wheels, I've got a motorhome my wife and I bought in 2020 when nobody was sure what was going on with the world so we went out west in the middle of nowhere land and we even met Tom hanks out there in his sprinter van. Great video nonetheless though I'm almost a year late lol.
So lucky Crestview swapped yours out. It sounds like you made a deal on a different model year…that should have been a whole diff price point! Better to have swapped it out than fix what was wrong and try to give you money back. Hubbs put this video on and watching you all move out of your travel trailer and into your 5th wheel made me cry too…we loved out 24’r but as full timers & me working from home it made more sense to upgrade -we’re in a 41’ 5th wheel (@longlongadventure). I do miss the simplicity …a lot! (Le sigh) But it is nice to have actual rooms and a table instead of a booth…can do yoga w.out touching the ceiling…more room to cook in the kitchen. Your model is reeeeeeally nice! Less slides = less things to maintain! We sub’d to see how things go! Welcome to your new home! 🌻🌻🌻 P.s., Whaaaat is that second monitor Mike uses? great video life has its ups and downs but you still keep on going congratulations on the new truck and 5th wheel and just as a suggestion write down the height of your RV plus AC unit and put it on your dashboard that way you will know how high you are when you go under trees under passes and bridges Exedra McKinney Falls State Park is really awesome I don't live too far from there actually I live in Cedar Creek Texas which is close to Bastrop Texas and we also have to state parks near us safe travels and happy camping
I can tell you did not have a 3rd party inspection to find all the problems. I would not have taken delivery unless everything was working. You should have known the air conditioner did not work. Backplash issue, well you did not buy a quality unit. Sorry for your troubles, hopefully you know what to do in the future.
As our great President Trump would say….C H I N A.. LOL. Happy for you both there is no more QA with manufacture plants this is with all of them. My neighbors spent over 90k on a new one and have a plethora of items on the repair list. I am a home builder and having that knowledge has been priceless for maintaining and repairing my 43 footer. Its been a pleasure owning a fifth wheel so far for my family, plus I purchased a lot with full hookups on the Texas coast. No towing and its always ready when we come down for weekends. We were at this same exact campground just a couple days ago! What a crazy world! Congratulations on your new rig! We have a fifth-wheel and the first drive and parking was quite hard.
I'd like to know what percentage of new RV parts are made in China. I own a 1974 Winnebago 29' Custom class A and everything still works perfectly. The fridge is ice cold and so are both AC units. Even the original Onan 6500 watt generator still purrs. Nothing from China on this rig 👍
Congratulations on you new fifth wheel! We just upgraded as well. Our auto leveling system was a pain at first but i think i have the hang of it now. Thanks for sharing
That dealership was a joke. They clearly never did a PDI. A non working AC, or auto level system should have been easy finds. The year is clearly discernable from the VIN. I wouldn't trust them at all.
