Congratulations on a very sensible purchase, just as I'm selling my one! I can confirm they're a giggle once you get them running, though very difficult to drive on the roads. If you've got any questions, or would like an ENGLISH service manual ping me your contact details.
Is that offer open to not-yet-owners too, by chance? I don't yet have a SKOT but I definitely love the idea. Don't have the money, and worse: the space, for one yet but would love to have a SKOT in the future. And banging my head against the Polish/Czech user manual definitely is more painful than useful. 😂
I would like an English service manual for mine as well. I have the giant 'bible' parts book that unfolds and shows every single part of the OT-64 in exploded diagrams with all the original part numbers, and a service manual in Czech, but not much else in English (just a simple operators manual).
My dad operated this during his basic military service 1987-89 in Czechoslovakia, at the border first unit, the last inaugural year, which had his entire service during the Cold War.
I haven't laughed so hard for long time 🤣🤣🤣. If you two invested in supply of McDonald's I could explain to you how to work this beauty out. Its been two decades since I worked on one but it is like riding the bike, if you done it few hundred times you will never forget. Good luck with it and if you check all door seals, this like you called "coffin " swimming 🏊♂️ nicely 😉
now i'd say that's the perfect crowd control toy to go christmas shopping in - no fighting in Tesco car park, any dipsh1ts park in the way, be warned, this may take more than one car space when parking
It's a tad over 2.5m wide, and it's over 7m long. Definitely uses up more than one space! But like you said, if a dipshit parks in the way it isn't going to stop an OT-64. :D
The good thing about these vehicles is that it has ( or should have ) a tire inflation system . So if that works properly the only thing you have to do is run then engine to get them aired up again. And unless you inflated them it seemed to be working because between when it sat on the trailer and on the shop floor they looked like having more air in them. That also gives you a clue that your gearbox must be working
Blokes never read manuals. They leave that to the wives so they can say 'Ah well what you did wrong there was ....' Manuals are an aid to a long marriage where the wife thinks she knows best and the bloke knows she doesn't.
Pretty interesting. With 8 wheel drive, high low gear box, plus propellers, self inflating tires, armor and gun ports this would be perfect for Uber use in Chicago. Was this built by Skoda?
Most of the available vehicles date to 70's and 80's, so you can get the DMT to register them as historic vehicles! Just I form your bank way ahead if you want to visit. They may be a big nervous.
@@fittermat I'd call that a feature, rather than a failing. ;-) I'm a mere novice, with an old BSA M20 but when the new garage is up next year, it'll be joined by a Ferret or similar motorised money pit. 😁
That starwars omage at 22:10. Gallons of tea. Should have been quarts of Vodka. Voltage and Air pressure was a given. Just follow the hard line in your video. You didnt see that 10ga wire nor that hard line air. Awesome vid! hope you get a gopro soon.
Good Lord what next! You're worse than an old tom cat bring home all his nightly captures and leaving them on the doorstep! LOL! I love it! Cheers and Merry Christmas from South Carolina USA
good lord learn to use a drill bit properly, and learn to sharpen them. at that size you should have your whole bodyweight on the drill , at almost the slowest speed itll still rotate at. and I apologise for being one of those people.
At beginning you say that tires are deflated and clutch is not working.... All that i knew about skot is that it had tire inflating system and "half automatic" (preselection) pneumatic gearbox. So guess it's problem with air. My father never fully wrapped his mind around gearbox when he rode it in his army days.
If the brake bands inside the gear box - will you get traction then at all ? I don't think so. The band actuators inside needs enough air pressure too..
If you was a kiwi you would have no trouble fixing this these are perfect for new zealand #8 wire find a tail light and build a car around it mentality merry xmas from kiwi land
Polish armored body was laid on TATRA (Czech) V8 Diesel Truck with gearbox . That what the OT64 SKOT is.... The gearbox back than it was technical advantage without electronics of today auto capability, water propeller propulsion on each side and x 8 wheel drive.... Clearly you don't know fully with what you R dealing with yet.....
@@jbuckley2546 I will get to it! To be honest it’s been parked up in the yard since I got it home, tanks and general boring life stuff keep getting in the way, I will crack on with it soon though, summer can’t be that far away and it needs to be work ready!
well Hitler invaded Czech first with blessing from the UK to be clear, ironic part is that Stalin was against, one of the Hitler goals was also Czech weapon industry including Skoda tanks, Hilter tougt that they were a top tier before WWII, however this engine isnt from Skoda
I think the term "PROPPER JOB "springs to mind IF you don't bring this down to next years "tanks and guns" show I PERSONALLY will be VERY upset !! That IS IF you can find a truck driver than knows how to drive and reverse!! ( aka this years Fiesco !! )
Cool thanks for the heads up !! Only 1h30 from me ! DEFINITELY put that in the diary 👍 HOPEFULLY we will see you there ! PROVIDING this covid crap allows it !!
Love, how obviously you guys knew nothing about the vehicle, or how it is built.😂 Haven't watched the video yet, but my guess would be, that either the valve on the right hand side of the gearbox went bad, or the bands inside are stuck, or too loose.
the number of "politically incorrect" jokes (some in poor taste) make me think these people aren't very intelligent, or just don't care enough to get it right,
@@matthiasflam1472 ; All variants should be based on the Tatra engine from what I read. Except the KTO Ryś which uses a modern Iveco engine. Also I stand corrected, the camo shows that this is a former Czech one, OT-64C(1).
In my opinion lads since it is your channel you can swear all you want . Those who can't stand a jolly good round of brittisch swearing can just buggar off and watch something else then eh.
It is the general idea of having a business, buying, selling and repairing. Means we can keep getting plenty of interesting vehicles to make content on
between you starting the OT-64 and the chieftain tank its bang goes the ozone layer and any survivors can expect covid to pop the rest, As it's been announced we are to become carbon neutral by 2040 so the clocks ticking because I think you have your work cut out...At least for the next few years and I was so looking forward to my retirement. PS just how are you going to convert all your toys to electric/ hydrogen?
