Hi Guys,
We hope you are all doing awesome, On this video we will take you back 3 years from when we first bought this beautiful rustic island house, to the lengthy renovation and now our finished dream island home. What a transformation; 3 years in 60 minutes. Before and After Renovations of our Portuguese rustic home. We also used some time-lapse on this video. C
So much happened during this period, not only when it came to our project, but also what was happening around the world. We felt that it was important to share all our highs and lows during this life changing project and period of our life's. We hope you enjoy it!
If anyone of you are considering buying & renovating a home in Portugal/Azores, then this video will give you a very good idea of what it's like. We learned so much not only about this experience, but also about the island, the country and ourselves.

Love it, although I would prefer a warmer colour in the exterior of the house. It seems that in the Açores all the houses are white and grey.

There is a fundamental rule that should govern us in life and in everything that surrounds us, which is the "Pareto Principle" which was created by the economist Vilfredo Pareto. In other words, this rule orbits the famous 80-20 conjunction and not the 70-30 as mentioned in the video. the Pareto rule is a tool that can be used to improve project management efficiency on a daily basis. Of course, this rule can be applied to a larger territory such as Canada, but it can also be extrapolated to more micro territories. Well, that's easy to say, because there are a series of factors and variables that cannot be completely resolved because they are beyond our control. Ultimately, in this microcosm, we do what we can with the suppliers that exist locally. The alternative was to send people from outside to do things, but the price escalates. And the budget doesn't stretch. However, the result they achieved with the amateurs was spectacular. My congratulations. Well...don't forget that after the work is completed it starts to age the next day. Result: It is necessary to carry out preventive maintenance, to delay this aging since the climate there is relentless!! "Our" Vitorino Nemésio wrote a book that is very current these days "bad weather on the canal" where everything is written about the local climate where there are 4 seasons in one day!! But when the weather is bad it really is!! And often for days at a time!! But on the other hand, there are also very Good and Pleasant days. It's like everything in life!! Congratulations again on the result achieved.

From a simple color change on the exterior wall at stairs leading to front entrance to taking down interior wall, and old stove oven section, to building patio and wall, and, and, on and on for all good decisions resulting into a beautiful cozy, and comfortable home while enhancing the Pico part of the Azores * And through this reno it made my numero uno bucket list must visit spot on our planet * But this decision was actually made for me in the very early videos, in other words it didn't take long to have my mind made up * So i thank you both for this one. . . :>/

Congrats on finishing your Reno😊 The old owners also liked Sporting CP lol what a difference a it shows how much hard work you both put into it. I remember when the Backhoe came to remove the wood oven and the chimney are but it was a great choice. All I can say is stunning and beautiful once you go there you’ll never what to leave.
