The Unimog , the ultimate 4x4 off-road... yep.... Camper.... I hope that is open for discusion... :-) and it seems.... I had one with a staircase on the under part of an electric door , I slept above the cabin, so the living unit tilted backwords to let the tilting cabin pass and to be not too high, the roof above the bed moved electricly 25 cm up. a sandwich construction box with a one layer, one piece polyester/glassfiber so, no plates fixed togheter, For me, it was not specialy enough to put it on RU-vid. And I had no young, good looking woman for the clicks... :-) Now I have an other box on it and drive on recycled biodiesel... looks stealth now...

Hi all, I am a new subscriber and I am looking into buying either one of these Unimog's or going another type of overland vehicle route full -time. I do not have tons of money but I am very interested & would love to know what was the final cost of the Unimog ( if you don't mind) including the box & shipping since I am on the east coast of the US. I appreciate it very much this would help me greatly understand if I could afford one of these. I dont know if you mentioned it in this video but I appreciate it.I understand the price varies on the unimog (depending where you buy (auctions etc) but I like the thickness of the walls &* the box in general is really nicely made. I amseriously considering one of these ? Also, how is the Gas milage? Is it around 10 mpg? I sincerely thank you for the response.

Nice, that is a good moment I can related to, we waited almost 2 years to get our MB 1120 AF back, we had a little more done of course (painting and tool boxes). AV really know their stuff when it come to building subframes on MB trucks! So this was a really good decision in my eyes. It will also help when/if it comes time to sell it. BTW, the switch if for the diffs, all Mogs have permanent 4 wheel drive connected with about a 60-40 distribution unless the central diff is locked.

In the mid 80s, when I was in HS, graduated in 87, everyone could drive a stick. Now, it's hard to find anyone under 30 who can drive a stick.

What do y'all do with the vehicles y'all have built in the passed? Keep them? Sell them? I love watching your videos alot.

I live in a 32 ft fifth wheel with two slide outs but I do not travel since I don't have any way to pull it mobile home RV Park have lived in RVs for probably close to 20 years this is the third one from where I'm at now I have a big good size yard they let me in close it with a wire fencing that actually can be removed and rolled up I laid down grass I'm on my own yard I have flowers everywhere I wasn't supposed to plan any trees but by accident what I thought was supposed to be a peony bush but I guess it died out and I ended up with the tree I don't know how that happened but I thought I was going to get a bus and I have this big huge tree that's taller than my fifth wheel now the only thing I don't like is the fact that I'm in Idaho. I'm about 25 miles from Boise. It wasn't a really big town but in the last couple of years all around me is just developing I did have a lot of Farmland across the street there was a big pasture with horses in it now that's gone and it's Apartments so it's kind of a bummer businesses are moving in all around me but right now it's the cheapest place to live and I am able to do what I want because it's not a regular RV park which they have too many restrictions the rules here because it does still have a few mobile homes in it the rules are like if I had a mobile home. I do have seven cats my oldest one is going on 17 years old recently something developed around the inside of her eye around her eyeballs so we ended up having to remove her eye so she's just getting used to it now for my cats have never been to a vet I've been very lucky with them and they're like 9 years old I had their mother so that means I had them she was a stray and lived outside I couldn't catch her took me a couple years to catcher finally.

How do y'all find parts and mechanics for the unimog? Is the top speed 70mph or is there a way to achieve that? Thanks! Great channel!

@ourwaytoroam watching this video was so amazing i almost cried. I went through a lot of what you guys did, moving out of an RV into an expedition vehicle I am making on an M35A2. It’s my first truck and I felt all those emotions picking it up and learning about it in these past months! I’m on my way to pickup my composite panels next week, good luck to you two ✌🏽
