Build an emergency fund 5. Save to invest, it's a proven way to get richer. Very important to financial success
Gem, when you went in the garage you mentioned it smells of fish, I work in property management and that can be an indicator there is an issue with the electrics we’ve had it in our new build properties before, please get them checked and stay safe! ❤️
Funny you said that. I lived in a new build and the hall smelt of fish. It took months to find out where the smell was coming from and it was the light. Interesting.

Gorgeous home Gemma, years ago we had a drop down bed installed inside a cupboard in our spare room that we used as an office it was really useful on the odd occasion that guests stayed over so yeah I think wardrobe room come guest room just makes more sense than a whole wasted room good luck with the whole move x
You absolutely must put doors into the wall between the Front room and dining area. That view is outrageously good!!!! Hopefully you will not lose the view and get built out! The hidden drawer in the kitchen was a great idea too. So many ideas, looking forward to seeing the house furnished and the garden landscaped..

Gorgeous house and the road is so far away you’ll grow accustomed to the light lull and you’ll stop noticing it. Live in it through this first year and experience all the different lights throughout the seasons before you change it structurally. You have time! I am thrilled for you both. I would put the rooted Christmas tree in the back yard so you have the back ground of the field in the winter behind you. Not sure if y’all get snow there but I think that would be beautiful!!!

Beautiful house. With Jamie.. Willow tree. . Use landing cupboard as airing cupboard. Yes, spare bedroom is a waste of space unless you use it all the time. Sofa bed makes more sense. I have the same stairs to my loft.. Gemma lofts are not scary. My loft is insulated, completely boarded, white painted walls, 2 roof windows and a bright light. I put down pine-floor looking linoleum and I have put up basic pine wooden shelves which have uniform, labeled, clear big containers (with lids) I bought for them. I keep everything up there. Eg holiday stuff (skis, snorkeling, camping), Xmas, Easter, etc decor. Suitcases, kids stuff from my oldest I am keeping for my youngest child, and long-term document storage. It's fabulous for storage and looks good because it is light and bright and due to the shelf/clear box organization😊. Definitely open up the wall.. The living room is to the dark north side, front of house, road.. I would want my "relaxing/living" room facing out to the green tranquil garden. Especially once it is landscaped..and a real oasis.
For underneath the stairs you could put in built in storage from floor to stairs, but have it set back slightly to create that mini cubby/snug feeling. With over head twinkle lights and a glass/Perspex inbuilt book shelf/storage around the seating bit. Then the area around can have built in drawers and other storage for things to grab on the way out, maybe outdoor shoe storage and a small closet for your coats, umbrellas etc
This would seriously be my dream home 😍😍 but I feel an arch with the same bricks as the fireplace would be sooooo extremely beautiful!! I feel like it would just be so much more cosy than the glas doors. But no matter what you are doing, it always looks stunning!!!!😍😍

The glass in the staircase keeps the open feel & the light coming in is lovely. Facial recognition will work if it’s a beautiful mirror. Never Ever Ever learn to load or unload the Dishwasher. Never. The outside kitchen & BBQ needs to be near the kitchen & the Hot Tub near the high fence. Your house is lovely. Had you thought of asking the builder for a quote to put the glass doors in the living room before you put furniture in?
What a beautiful house! I love that log burner and I love the oak staircase! Love love love. Do be careful about panelling everywhere. It’s really chav to panel a new build and is quickly becoming out of fashion. The issue is that it’s a nightmare to remove. Accents of panelling would be lovely. The dining room view is amazing. I agree you should knock it through as you’ll only use the dining room a few times a year. I love my dining room as it always looks perfect but in many ways it’s a wasted room! X
The door from the utility room could be great to walk into a walk-in pantry if you converted a little bit of the garage! Adore the house so happy for you both!!
The house is beautiful, so happy for you both. I personally wouldn’t put the double doors or knock through the living room, think you’ll regret it, plus all you’ll see is your dining room chairs. It will also make your lounge look small. Before you do it-do a 3D virtual picture of it. I would also name the house and get a plaque on the top of the porch xx

So exciting!!! I had a weeping willow tree growing up, i love them. And i think the kitchen bar lights are cute!! But you both will make it even more beautiful through out!!!! Ive never seen a living room with a door on it. In the U.s.a. they are usually just an open room, french doors will look great! Also you can get a dresser with a pull out bed in it. It would look like a piece of furniture!

Gemma I cut open the wall between my dining room and living room with sliding French doors… which hide inside the walls when you open them… this way the doors don’t get in the way. It’s life changing and makes the house flow better and seem much bigger. You will LOVE IT!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Love the new home 😍I wouldn’t knock the lounge wall through to the kitchen though ... it would lose the cozy feel to the lounge and also lose wall space xxx
Beautiful home. Making an opening from the living room into the dining room will make a huge difference! UK homes tend to close off spaces or put doors everywhere for some reason. Seperate wardrobe rooms are so luxe.👀
Understairs: high back bench with storage & coat hooks... Cat scratcher condo... Kitchen/living rm wall: sliding pocket door or barn sliding door. Regular doors will take up space when opening into dining area... Spices & Seasonings could goin drawer under cooktop...
