This tools set are great for kids. I bought similar for a 5 year old. He can do stuff around house and is very proud of owning tool box.

as a child I got a good gernam tool kit (sure cause I´m german, and german tools were the best). don´t frustrate your kids with chines trash, buy a real one!

Back in the 80’s I bought my first tools from a surplus store called Hood’s near my house. They were cheap tools made in China or Mexico. Within 5 years I think all but a couple of screwdrivers had broken. So then I bought Craftsman tools. I still have them, but the few screwdrivers from Hoods have since broken.

I bought a mexico set for the exact reason of welding them to broken taps or bolts and unscrewing I managed to weld them to the insulating copper but they just wouldnt weld to steel

The "Test Light" works when you put the flat part in a live plug or anything with eletricity and put your finger on the metal butt of the tool making the ground, and then, if there's eletricity your fuse should light.

The electric check screw driver works by putting it in the power outlet and put you finger on the metal end. If the light comes one that's the power, if not then it's the ground wire. Used that all my life and never heard of accidents.

Perfect tool set for a budget car restoration. Find one cheap beater, pick up a harbor freight paint gun or just rattle can spray paint, crappy tools to reassemble the car and see how far you can get :D

Here in Germany, most car workshops use 1/2 and 1/4 inch ratchets. The 3/8 is not that common here anymore. As Compromise for space and weight saving, I have 3/8 Rachet Set in my "Crash Kit"

The 301pc Pittsburgh tool set is a good tool set for money but that's my opinion. I have used the 301pc set at a shop I worked at and never had any problems with any of the tools

Here in finland 3/8" sockets are not a thing.. I mean if you want them you can buy those from pro shop or order online, but mostly we use 1/4" and, 1/2" tools and those are commonly available.

Kid's bike you need an allen key set, maybe an 8mm spanner and a pump. You can get (very) good examples of all of those for less than this kit total. If you need any more specialist bike tools, this kit still doesn't have them. Hanging a picture? Same story. And you'll still have change after both. Just buy what you need as you need it, but get decent quality every time. It'll be cheaper in the long run. If you need a lot, try 2nd hand. Some old stuff is nearly indestructable, just not so shiny.

The thing about a collection like this is it doesn't matter how many pieces there are if it's unusable it's crap. Maybe the bits you can find for $6-10 on Amazon? $160 can gather a nearly complete metric toolset on Holiday sales. Stuff with function and standardized quality you can actually use. I get that stuff like this gives the market competition and somewhat keeps prices in check across the board but don't even entertain the idea that it's okay to buy.

I’ll be honest I got one of these for Christmas and it’s saved my tail a time or two when I’ve had to work on cars at my work (Autozone) so I decided it’s probably the best place to use this tool set because if someone was to steal something I wouldn’t be too sad bout it but for changing batteries and head light and tail light it works surprisingly well for that application and all the odds and ends it has in it are great tbh I mean u get what u pay for don’t get me wrong just in use it has surpassed my expectations on what it’ll do

Another great video guys. Yes the electrical screwdriver that you were looking at the has the metal cap is an electrical test screwdriver. You put the screwdriver tip to the live & then put a finger or thumb on the metal cap & it effectively earths through you but it SHOULD HAVE a resistor as well as the test bulb inside so that enough power goes through to light the test bulb but not enough to harm you. Can't believe how bad the sockets were. Bear in mind with the last test you did the 14mm actually measured 14.05mm on the one set & 14.13mm on the other set & now this set is 14.37mm !!!! YUCK !!! So you say that if you're going to put your daughter's bike together & then put up a picture the next day then you'd think about that set, but bear in mind, in the last test you had 2 tool sets :- $120 & $220 (or thereabouts) & surely the $120 set was much better than that set & it was cheaper too !!!!!!

I actually bought one of these, quality is well... Terrible and you DEFINITELY shouldn't rely on this as your main tool kit if you do a lot of work. BUT it is awesomely inclusive and compact enough to keep in the back of your car for the day that you need it. And even tho it might not last forever, and not all of the tools are as useful as others. Some of the most commonly used ones are acceptable. It truely has saved me from being stuck on the side of the road on multiple occasions! So for that purpose I believe it's actually a pretty great investment. Especially if you drive an old car where you never know what might fail.

10:01 These are pretty old ways for testing for voltage. Usually used for AC systems, mains, etc, often have a resistor and a neon bulb/incandescent bulb in and you touch the thing you want to test with the tip and you put your thumb on the contact on the end

After excluding all the ties and screws, nails and clips you probably have an 88 piece set while still counting box, trays and keys. Real value price is about $40.00 which makes it fine for a trunk monster that spends it's existence waiting for a vehicle breakdown. For $160.00 I would expect a smaller but much better quality set of tools in a less ornate but indestructible nesting case.

At my work we don't use 3/8 inch drive sockets. Most is done with half or even 1/4 inch 😛

As a long tooth, I've used plenty of chocolate spanners way back in my 'yoof'. They do their job once or twice, but you soon realise that the tool maketh the gearhead, and invest in things that hurt to purchase, but will last down to your grandkids +. "Buy once, Cry once!" 👍 Love the content. ❤

Tavarish should have read the Amazon ad a little better. It specifically says 799pc in total includes 187 piece tools. So yeah, the zip ties and everything else is included in the count

80s and early 2000s asian would know diamond branded hand tools. Its $5 for a set of crescent double ended wrenches, $9 for double ended ring spanners. Its THE tools to get if you really hated yourself. Mine's a dedicated bolt rounder, its 10mm is actually 10,79mm. The tolerances are way off, its the perfect loaner tools. 😈

You must not have "borrowers". Be they some kind of familial relation, neighbor or friend of the family. The ones that always need something but never seem to return it once that it is given. This is a GREAT toolkit for a that specific group of people. These tools at a price point where I simply don't care if it gets returned or not. So,

Get your money's worth out of that bargain basement chineesium tool set! Now you get to see what it takes to break to tools in each set! One video where we see what it takes to break the pliers, another to strip the screwdrivers, how far will that level twist before failure, etc. Maybe rope Project Farm into some of it. :D

I was watching this on my TV and that set was bad. It looks like something you would see at the 99 cent store at the top shelf like its something very valuable. The lack of sockets was the most insulting aspect of this tool kit.

Pack up that tool set and send it back to Amazon for a complete refund! There is no way I would personally keep that very very low quality tool set! The Harbor Freight brands are much much better! Just my two cents worth! -Rob
