I've noticed most of the other channels spend time fixing things that constantly break your aluminum cat doesn't seem to break anything ever no leaking windows hatches etc . Really good design .
Wow guy's so relaxing.... Yeah it can get chilly at nite in the summer an early morning... I really do enjoy your channel... Princess you have a beautiful voice✌🏼💗😊❣️
that far north if you are in the countryside as you are, the days get hot but the nights are always cool....we call it good sleeping weather, mid summer there is usually a week or two of warm nights. In the big cities the ambient heat keeps us much warmer during most of the summer nights. Montreal here
The breakaway rudder system you have is perfect and probably the main reason you don't see more cruisers in the canal system.... having to get hauled out to repair a broken rudder because you hit something submerged would be a royal PITA. I personally would always rather be cold than hot.... putting on more clothes is easy and makes the morning cup o joe more enjoyable! Cheers!!!!
It was/is so stupid, my country, Canada, wouldn't even let them in!!! There could have been nice shots of the Great White North. TO THIS DAY, I cannot get on a domestic flight, or ride a ferry or a train. My wife is getting fired from her government job, scheduled next month . . . . all because . . . . Anyway, 00:11:00, "it got down to 9°C last night", lol!! Good thing you didn't make it to Canada. P.S. - "we're pussy's" --> "we're pussies".
Hey Jamie and Princess, great film indeed, well produced. We left Hout Bay in March and are currently in Northern Brazil and heading for Trinidad and up to the USA early next year. The loop is a personal fascination of mine for many years and so its great to see your experiences. All the best Craig
@@SailingLifeonJupiter lol, we will have to go a lot faster then. Definitely will need a new boat to catch you. All the best for the Pacific and onwards
Glad you made that comment on the restaurants. i could not agree more. Middle summer in Upper New York! First, you are on the water and second, there are mountain ranges all about you so the cold air funnels into the region like a bowl. It is better though, Late July!!!!
Great video. I really like the rudder system. What do the Neel's have painted on them? "Just makes sense" Mumby rudder system? Yep. (Wonder if I can ask for that on my Seawind?) Locks? Three Gorges Dam in China, Five locks, 180m height change, takes a few hours. They're huge deep tubs that fill with diesel exhaust. Been through them twice 1999 (shallow) 2009 (dam in full operation) . Probably too dizzy from the fumes to remember all the details. The 'lake' above the dam to Chong Ching is bucket of coal and diesel exhaust- like breathing sand paper. I recommend against it. In '99 before the dam filled up we got to see the old river, our cruise boat fought the currents.
Top video Jamie & Princess, great cinematography - would love to look into one of the small towns you wander through, - IF videoing does not reduce your enjoyment. At least we know you are alive ( _6 months into the future_ ) if you're still posting. Best Wishes to you both.
New York went way overboard crazy with restrictions and lock downs. Far to many of those restaurants didn't survive and will never reopen. It's really sad what damage panic and well meaning but ill informed decisions can do.
The places that reacted strongly a rapidly had fewer businesses that didn't survive. China, South Korea, New Zealand, Australia all had very minor economic disruption compared to the US, Brazil, South Africa, and India who all dragged their feet.
Hey guys! I love what you're doing. I just got back from Carmen in Cebu. I had a nice visit with Andrew and saw some future dreams being produced. Unfortunately I missed Tim by a day but I'll be back. Keep up the great videos.
Great vid mate, i was never interested in going to the States, but that scenery was beautiful and so different to Australia. Personally I would like to see more interaction with the natives, just curious as I've had to endure American tourists! Maybe with your engine's you should look at additives to help with carbonisation? Thanks again ,cheers
Tks Luke…no drama with anodes…there are 2 on each hull (recessed) and they’ve been on for 7 yrs so far…. The rudder anodes, and prop shaft anodes I replace about every 6mths if we are in a marina (rare).
The highest lock on a section is called the Summit. Depth is always a problem on inland waterways and it only takes a shopping trolly Bike or a car or dingy to sink and any projections will suffer ...the rigging doctors behind you and keeps grounding his 6ft blue water fixed keel. Hes running electric... But has blown his portable generator . Best system is diesel generator and Electric motors buffered by a battery.. with solar power and regen under sail.🤔 That way the ICE motor only has to run at its optimum speed and can shut off for hours on end for stealth running.
@@SailingLifeonJupiter Whats your best speed under power on both motors and a single motor? Theres a bunch of divers that go round the US looking for missing vehicles and sadly their drivers that have gone into lakes and rivers. US police forces dont have the resources to search and recover such cold cases. As for smaller canals you should see what the magnet fishers haul out of Dutch canals and in the US its often guns.😬
Well guys, sorry about broken rudder...lost anchor, banksters, outboard problems, etc, I mean I d be scared to continue in such "calm" waters...after cruising over half around the globe and none such things happened...bests luck !..:)
Out of curiosity when was this filmed? If it was in June I am not surprised it was cold. End of July and August I would have thought 17c would be a low morning temp
@@SailingLifeonJupiter wow I am surprised it was that cold. We have some amazing scenery coming up is my guess. Oct and September that far north the trees all change. Looking forward to coming videos. Looking forward to when you all get to Gulf.
Hehe…as it happens it was the name "Jupiter2 "that we wanted specifically….it’s a "Lost in Space", TV show reference. I talk about it at the end of this vid…ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SRf08QXT3fw.html
sorry 49 degrees is not new york in middle of summer would be more like 80-90 your not seeing other boats becouse they go earlier in summer when its like 80s
