That really would be our luck, wouldn't it? There's a species advanced and friendly enough to reach out to other civilizations, but by the time we get there, they're all dead or dying and then we get screwed over next. :(

Oh! The super tall alien was shoo-ing them away. It was trying to tell them to go away - to save themselves! Poor creature.

So this is the story as I understand it, A friendly race, similar in intelligence to humans but obviously way more advanced than us, wanted to reach out to other races. So they may have located multiple races and sent the orbs and the gateway stuff. But by the time the humans received the orb that activates their gateway. A different orb had reached a planet of possibly parasitic or just simply evil beings that completely or almost completely eradicated the friendly race. The tall creature that I think was limping, was trying to get the humans to leave, that's why it was shooing them. Sad honestly and an amazing story! I wish there would be a part two to this. Edit: A person asked me to do this on every Mr creeps video. Obviously I have not been Doing this, the reason is is that not all of his stories have this level of deepness, a feeling of a much greater story. I'm glad so many people thought this was interesting, but I will only do this again if I find another AMAZING story. I don't imagine a horde of oversized centipedes would be able to construct the interstellar gateway and insert the key, the centipede creatures could have only been a creation of whatever else lay past the broken portal, imagine.

Generals: we are ready to make first contact and save humanity if need be! (Centipedes come out of the gateway) Each general: Nope, I'm out!

I was expecting that the portals weren't a kindly invite, but rather a desperate attempt to evacuate from some horrendous planet-ending cataclysm that we wander into. Close enough.

Those creatures remind me of the flood from Halo. The only thing I can't grasp is how the parasites were able to construct the portal on their planet. Their intelligence sounds more instinctual, yet crafty. I wonder if they're controlled by a central being. Like a hive mind.

this is written like an episode of the twilight zone, just the way the dialogue is drawn out and a bit obvious. i dig it immensely.

At first, before the parasites showed up, I kind of thought that alien race was a human-like race that made their way to Earth, then proceeding to mix with the neanderthals or something to create modern humans.

Man this should be a movie or a show. I would pay to watch this

I love this story a lot, partially because of a story my grandpa told me when I was little, he told me that Nasa had received and SOS from another planet far out in space, but by time it was decoded it was too late, he didn't work for Nasa or the military or anything so it was probably made up but I love how it fits with this a bit lol

I just wanted to say thank you sir. After bindging on every single story you uploaded. My kids both 5 years old want me to tell them spooky stories all the time. So we light up the fire barrell out back (i live in the sticks of MD) and make amazing memories and scare the living shit out of them. You made those memories possible by sparking the flame with your storytelling

Apart from I would have thought any nuke would either be on a dead man's switch system or remotely detonated from a safe distance, very good story. The description of the destroyed alien city reminded me of Rendevous with Rama for some reason.

Yo is this seems like an extension of "The chernobyl disaster was a cover up for something terrifying". That would be cool, the soviets had portals and gateways all around the country that were powered by nuclear reactors and most of them got shut down or abandoned apart from a few, chernobyl and this place in siberia are just some extreme cases of some of the experiments going wrong.

A cosmic parasite, a life form so destructive yet so unintelligent. I couldn’t imagine a scarier fate, despite all the technology and knowledge of the advanced race they were torn down by an unthinking creature. Almost reminds me of the flood from the halo universe.
