Love you Kyle. Thank you. Thank you for helping me through my dark times. Thank you We Came As Romans for everything. I'm going to miss you everyday brother. Do me a favor, and make some killer music with Chester up in heaven.
I thought he actually looked decently comfortable for singing in a small office lol Dave I believe his name is seemed more uncomfortable but I thought they all kicked ass! Thank you WCAR for saving me as a 12 year old and a 22 year old just this month. Love you guys and miss you so damn much Kyle.🙏🏼❤
I love this band and always will. Kyle has gotten so much better, and Dave is great for just now bringing his singing into light, band-wise. And for those who say that they're too awkward in a non-positive way, playing live is totally different. Live, people get to sing and scream along as loud as their voices allow. They get to jump along, throw their hands in the air, and whatever else people do at shows nowadays. During acoustics, it's about as awkward as playing a first show. Nobody does anything but stare. People rarely even sing along. It's a lot of pressure to sing in front of people, even a small amount. I have pretty bad issues with being shy and awkward so I completely get why it might be a little weird for them. But they did a wonderful job nonetheless. Yep. That.
They look nervous as HELL! I mean acoustic sessions are nerve-racking as it is, but then to be THAT close to the audience... gotta be so off-putting lol.
Alright, im a vocal major, and I have a really good ear when it comes to being sharp and flat. Kyle was musically SO much better at maintaining pitch and holding it as well as falsetto switches. Everytime dave sang, I heard a flat note. Kyle on the other hand was very pitch accurate although he struggled with vocal support. Not hating whatsoever. They are one of my favorite bands and dave has come a long way. Loved the performance!
stillwaiting55 A lot of people think that they should drop Kyle and stick to one vocal (dave). I like the band as it is, however I do agree that Kyle (Normally, not particularly here) is very weak live and in some moments Dave sings the soft parts better than him. Dave is overall a better vocal, he even sang all of their songs alone in the Philipines. However I think that if they keep practicing Kyle will be great.
+xGordzulax i think you are right. i heard them some months ago in munich for the first time and i like both of their voices . I think Kyle sounded great , not the best singer in the world but i like bis voice becouse it has some kind of emotion in it that like a lot.
stillwaiting55 wait it was disputed/a secret that Kyle just objectively is a better singer? You can prefer whatever, even talk singing, but doesn't mean that's better.
This is the most awkward thing i have ever seen in my life.. Still good dont get me wrong, but extremely awkward. Swear the vocalists need to be more confident and project more.
This... "performance" totally made me feel uncomfortable FOR them. They have been a touring band for like 6 years now (I'm not sure) and they literally look like this is their first performance in front of anyone. Kyle seems so out of his comfort zone and Dave just needs to stop singing because including him being consumed in nerves, he can't keep his composure singing and you can clearly tell he's straining himself. He's an amazing screamer. I'm just saying, they shouldn't be just standing there, as a musician myself, I feel they should be connecting with the audience a little better... For instance, Kyle and Dave should be singing to each other and gettingthe audience into it (How? I don't know, I'm sure they can think of something creative to produce more energy) and making harmonies and whatnot. I have loved these guys since they got big. I am not intending to pick them apart, I'm just saying that this performance lacks tons of professionalism and confidence on both their parts... Other Opinions??
Kolby Carignan aren’t you just one to judge haha I agree with comment below and I get this is an old comment AND an old video but I’ve seen them live many warped tours and they’re great, it’s a small setting, there’s a big difference and if you heard at the end of the video, Dave needed antibiotics so he’s clearly under some sort of ailment or was. Either way, upload your video, otherwise, BLAH BLAH BLAH.
Dave is a better clean vocalist than kyle. His tone and pitch are much more solidified and whole while kyles' are actually pretty shaky and quiver too much. His falsetto transitions are a but rough too. I heard a couple of them fade into very airy breaths. Not hating, just saying.
SurviveTheHour Kyle lacks the diaphragm support to hold his notes steadily though. It's not even a natural vibrato, it's just lack of breath support and control. Yes, Dave goes flat more often, but not a whole lot, and is also much more solid with his notes and breath support. Part of the reason of him going flat in this video could also be that he does unclean vocals and that takes a toll on the range of your register. I can verify this because it does it to myself as well. I have an approximate 3 1/2 octave vocal range and when I do both cleans and uncleans of various styles together or even switching out, it knocks my range down a half octave or so overall.
Ben Allen Just objectively wrong.. Don't think you have any experience or clue about singing or vocal techniques. Only Kyle sounded good here, and his parts are demanding as FUCK. Get a better headset or something.
Ben Allen Not really. His parts use way more headvoice, thus just doesn't have the advantage of using power. You try singing his parts in the same pitch, and then add power ti achieve mix, they are very different song parts. Kyle didn't mess up his pitch much at all and this was pretty good considering its purely acoustic. Dave fell flat and had sour notes and missed the pitch several times. I personally prefer Dave's style, but he just objectively didn't sing as well. Saying otherwise just demonstrates tonedeafness.
