Good evening. Suggestion...put a camera out there near the emu eggs. At least you'll have an idea of who is at the "nest" and when and what they're up to.

The eggs are gorgeous. People buy emu eggs to etch them into decorative art. When you and Brooke were over by the emu eggs, Holly can be seen frantically running along the fence, I believe trying to get to you, Jason. She is a very special companion for you.

I learned that with some birds, touching,petting, and stroking their bodies is an intimate act that will trigger hormonal behavior. Perhaps, lay off petting below their neck will cause Nugget and Goldie to pair bond if that's what you want. So exciting and so very beautiful.

OMG two nights ago I had a dream that hubby took me to Cog Hill Farm to visit. In my dream I was following Holly around on the farm. We went in to the Emu pasture and I met Goldie. She took me to her nest and showed me 2 eggs. I thought to myself that my morphine was giving me extra weird dreams. Well I am glad to see that Goldie has given you all eggs. Now I will pray that they hatch for you.

Sring has sprung at THE Cog Hill! Geese eggs. Imu Eggs, fruit trees getting sprayed. Now if we can get Brooke feeling better all will be well God Bless

Emu typically stop laying just before spring. Winter time is emu egg season. It's a relatively small window. But they take about 6 weeks or so to hatch.

I could be wrong but I'm sure I saw 5 eggs. When the camera pointed down it was totally under the leaves. Or it could be an optical illusion. 🤷🏼‍♀️ In any case, it's very exciting! Oh my goodness little emu babies running around the farm! 👏👏🤗

@karenneely6518 just like Ostriches and Castlearies the males sit on the eggs and take care of the chicks. If you watch Jaime and Lesters their Ostriches Carl and Debbie had eggs.The first clutch didn't make it Carl and Debbie eat the first clutch. The third clutch of eggs was a success

Nugget sitting on an egg!❤❤❤❤ * Edit. That was my first guess but wow!!! What a clutch❤❤❤ My favorite baby shower gift was a blown emu egg. My sister cut the front out(on it's side), lined it with blanket material, and decorated with mini crib, blocks, bottles. Rosettes of material covered the blow holes. Lace trim around the opening. Still treasure it ❤

Beautiful Emerald Green Eggs. So proud of Goldie. I loved how she was struttin' last week. Sounds like they are similar to Bald Eagles. The male helps the female and sits on the eggs. This will be so interesting. Hopefull you can get a camera out near the eggs, whether it be a trail cam or the camera you had in the royal pigeon coop. So happy Brooke was strong enough to take a walk and spot the Emerald Green Eggs. Awesome job, Jason on cleaning up the barn. Looks really nice. Glad you gave us an update on the daffodils because I was just thinking about them the other day. Thank you so much for sharing this news with us.

The difference is, among eagles the parents switch off setting and hunting for food, and then feeding and tending the young. Among the emu, it's all on the dad. Seahorses do that. I just looked it up, and the male emu may lose half his body weight in the 60 days he devotes to hatching the eggs. And, then spends 18 months raising the young, alone. We live in a diverse world.

@@victoriabaker4400Male ostriches do that too. On Ima survivor sanctuary page, they had ostrich lay eggs and the Male sit on them and he got really pitiful in shape. But 3 eggs did hatch in Texas. Animal kingdom is so different but beautiful ❤❤❤❤

Just like Carl did at the sanctuary 2 years ago. Carl was an amazing dad and those baby ostrich’s were hatched 🐣 on Mother’s Day. The experts said it would NEVER happen in Texas but they were wrong ❤️❤️❤️❤️

🤠 when I saw the title, I said emu eggs! When you went to the house for the camera, I said I wanted to see 4. Not sure about emus, but ostriches have communal nests where several hens lay their eggs. With just Goldie, my guess would be 10 to 12 eggs. As you said this is egg-citing!
