Wow this idea is really similar to one I had the other day. I was watching this clip of a guy freestyling and his boost meter running up as he spent it. In the end he used like 275 boost on this one shot and this got me thinking about what a fundamental mechanic boost is and how changing some parameters could change the entire game. So since you're my favourite RL content creator and this video kinda touches on it I'm gonna just drop this here: What if boost spawned 2-4x slower...but the boost tank capacity was 2-4x higher? Boost management would become crazy because it'll be harder to get boost, but if you manage to gather enough of it you'll be able to pull off some really long intensive offenses or nutty plays. I expect those games would be really interesting so I hope you'll give it some thought. Love from the Netherlands.

This goes to show the skill gap between ranks and why smurfs need to be addressed in ranked by Psyonix. The skill gap shows just how unfair it is to lower ranks running into an SSL on a smurf account to boost his friend and or being paid for ranks. Yet Psyonix has continued to do nothing to aid the community by taking action against these players. Great video though and I look forward to the revenge!

Leth, try to find out the average amount of boost used in a 5 minute game, for example 4000. After that, create a mode where a player gets that amount of boost and there are no boost pads in the map. So the player needs to be careful not to overuse the boost. If they run out of boost, then they're out for good.

@@thaddeus1519 fact I was just telling a guy at work that it's not like other games where a few hours and you know how to do everything and I compared it to the rank systems of other games. One or two ranks in other games most of the time comes down to luck especially in shooting games. Rocket league one rank is literally a few hundred hours aways when you get to diamond if you are training and getting coached by higher ranked players where as if you aren't it could take forever to never

Rocket league is also a mind game Lethamyr. Danny & Trev were already low on morale at 50% boost so of course it will affect the outcome of the experiment, the gap of skill + the amount of goals scored it affects almost everyone, and of course it will transpire into the game, that's why they were for the most part so quiet... it still sucks to be stomped so bad, and worse is getting stomped with less boost. We are just humans after all.

One time I (barely GC1) was playing an in-game tournament early in the season and ran into a full CRL team in the finals. Like these guys had just played on ESPN the week prior. They beat us like 11-0 in game 1, then played game 2 without using boost and still beat us like 4-1. Very humbling experience!

Negative boost percentage (-25%): throughout a game your boost bar slowly drains equal to about -25% of the average boost you use normally in a game. You can use boost but whenever the meter goes below 0 it starts giving your opponents free boost (you can fill the meter by collecting pads). Edit: Oh, and the boost meter would start at 0, with your opponent naturally having an extra 25.

Ok weird video idea: What if instead of you being able to freely use your boost the game forces you to use it in x amounts for instance you press once and use 5 or 30 and can't use any less with the button press. You could go over 100 per button press with unlimited boost or raise the cap. You might want to multiply the amount you get by the pads it the big ones (or you just eject your boost when you press once that would be funny as well). Something neat to this would be that you can't hold the button so you have to "feather". It would make some plays Impossible due to you not being able to make small adjustments.

Leth you should also try something similar. Instead of capped boost make your cars like 10-15% slower than the other team and see if you can win. Keep boost strength as normal but the actual acceleration + speed of your car slower
