We Climbed ACTIVE Volcano! Hiking Mount Sibayak #sumatra #indonesia #volcano
Mount #Sibayak is characterized by a large #crater that emits steam and sulfurous gases; creating a dramatic #landscape. The #geothermal activity in the area results in hot springs and fumaroles which are vents that release steam and gases from the volcano
Hiking and Tourism:
Hiking to the summit of Mount Sibayak is a popular activity especially for those looking to experience the unique volcanic landscape up close. The #hike typically starts from the town of #Berastagi, and it takes a few hours to reach the top. Along the way, hikers can see various geothermal features, including hot springs, and fumaroles
Trail Access:
The trails are well-marked, and the hike is considered moderate to difficulty making it accessible to most visitors with a reasonable level of #fitness
Scenic Views:
From the summit, hikers are rewarded with panoramic views on clear days of the surrounding #highlands as well as #gunungsinabung
In Indonesia #volcanoes are integral to the region's natural beauty and #culturalheritage. Mount Sibayak in particular offers a unique combination of geological #wonders and accessible #adventure, making it a must-visit destination for those exploring Indonesia's volcanic #landscapes. However, it is crucial to balance tourism with environmental preservation to maintain the pristine nature of these remarkable geological features

please tell me, approximately how much time will it take from the beginning of the trail, where registration takes place, to the rise to the puncac antene observation deck? going around the crater lake on the right, is it easy to find the path to the observation deck? the fog is very confusing, they say that the acidic fumes in it are very harmful and have been tragic cases. I'm also interested in your time of visit, maybe early summer morning would be better? Thank you!

Honestly, it depends because in our case we took our time. When we got next to the crater some locals were camping , so we spent around one hour with them. When we got to the top, we spent almost 3 hrs on the summit waiting for the fog to clear. Some people do not hike towards the summit. They just stay in the crater to see the fumaroles, and enjoy the majesty of Sibayak The path is easy to find towards the observation deck If you guys would like to do it quickly from the registration to the summit back and forth is around 3 hrs max In regards the acidic fumes, I am a Geologist, and the level of acidity is not massive. I even got some sulfure pieces since it has a lot of healing properties. I was very close to the fumaroles , but limited exposure. I should say it is a risk because it is an active volcano, and they are unpredictable. They can erupt anytime, but still is open for tourism, and you will find people camping next to the crater and fumaroles We were in the month of May, and we left our HomeStay at 6AM. If the sunrise is something that you guys are interested in then you should go around 4AM, but it is not guaranteed because most of the time is cloudy. We came across with a couple of tourists while we were on our way to the top , and they could not enjoy the sunrise Fun fact: After we left Berastagi, we met some locals whom mentioned that the mountain itself has diamonds Be aware! You may find some 💎 😂

@@Flow.Travellers we plan to walk from the berestagi fruit market in the early morning, without waiting for bemo kama, which only takes you to the forest.after walking 7 km to the check-in point. We need to get to Tongging village on Lake Toba before evening and find a place to live.plus the ascent to the volcano and the return trip to the final kama to get to berestagi.Let's hope there won't be clouds..but about the acidity of vapors...there is a stand with the dead and missing.such a small volcano, I can't even figure out what happened to them.thank you so much for the detailed answer.as I understand it, at this time, hardly anyone will give you a ride to the check-in point if you leave at 4-5 o'clock in the morning.

@@aleksanderdehor5286 Yeah! We started walking at the beginning, and later a Kama pass by, and we took it with some kids from school. We were thinking to walk all the way , but we were not sure the level of the trekking, so we decided to take the Kama. He dropped us at the entrance of the Park, and we walk all the way to the registration. On our way back, we took a Kama from the registration point to Berastagi. He charge us 30,000 IDR because usually we bargain the price It sounds like a great plan guys! 👍🏽

Thank you for your #comment There are many factors to your question, but one of the main reasons is that we do not have other social media platforms to promote our content which almost all RU-vidrs have to attract viewers and followers. Also, RU-vid is not an easy platforms to build an audience because of its guidelines. Any #suggestions?

Still remember me? This is your mom 🤭 in sibayak? are you still in Indonesia? If so, I highly recommend tourism in Sibolga, Central Tapanuli, North Sumatra. namely Mursala Island, a waterfall in the middle of the island, and there is also Kalimantung Island, very beautiful, if you want you can take me there together 😁😁
