Hey hey ya’ll! This is the first garden tour of 2024 and I’m so excited to let you be a part of this growing, harvesting, preparing, and preserving season. This is how we are feeding a large family of seven without relying on the grocery store.
Come join our large family as we share what life looks like in a small town in the southern United States. We live in a double wide mobile home on a one acre homestead and share our way of living here with you. We're raising babies, chickens, and food and sharing it all with you.

Tiffany write everything down that your pawpaw tells you about gardening, which foods he grow up on , his favorite foods your mawmaw use to make and maybe ones he didn't 😅 ! Make it a weekly thing to just talk to him and ask all the questions! You and your children will be SO GLAD you did. I wish I had. ❤❤😊

I'm a first-time viewer and new subscriber here, and I totally agree with you. I'm 70, and I wish I had written down important information that my grandparents, uncles, aunts, and parents told me.

Tiffany..so very interesting. Reminds me of when I worked with my gramma in her garden…well, she worked, I pestered I’m sure! She used to give me a salt shaker and I’d sit in the cherry tomato plants, pick the ripe ones, wipe them off on my shirt, and salt them a little and pop them in my mouth. Best snack ever. Love the old ways! Take care. You’re a hard worker! Blessings, Miss Linda 💞💞💞

For any of my brassicas and lettuce, I always put the tulle fabric over it at planting. That way the insects cannot get to it. Works for us. ❤lifeatthenutthouse

Your gardens looking amazing Tiffany, and I love watching it progress. I'm fighting a losing battle against the slugs and snails at the moment, during the night they've eaten 6 more large squash plants and about the same in beans. I've tried washed egg shell's, sharp grit and beer traps, yet they are still munching through everything. I am reluctant to use slug pellets, but between the unusually bad weather we're still getting and the slug/snail problem I'm at a loss as of what to do. I'd be grateful for any suggestions. Have a wonderful and blessed weekend 💞

I don’t like resulting to non organic but I know my Papaw did. At some point it’s use them or get no food. I’m always trying to learn though.
@leekorten1791
@leekorten1791 Месяц назад
@OurSmallTownLife I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet, and use pellets. Especially as the slugs we've had for the last 18 months or so, aren't native to the UK, they are huge monsters of 6/7+ins long. I guess I'll press the Amazon button and get some reinforcements. Thanks for the advice, much love to Papaw. Have a wonderful weekend 💞

Tiffany we southerners know how to plant gardens and feed our families! I am planning on starting a journal this year with my husband’s parents. I want to write down everything they do gardening so it will be preserved just like the food. We are losing so much knowledge and common sense from the older generations passing. I realize I am quickly the older generation and my need to preserve for our future! My sweet Isabella, Betty and Webb will always learn on our farm! Thank you for sharing sweet friend! You are a joy and precious! I love everything you do! God bless and keep you. Your Tennessee friend and fan
