I think that yellow dress has potential if it was offset with a lower contrast color. Maybe Indigo? You could perhaps synch it up in front, add an indigo trim to the base and along the train, and then add in some petticoat layers in an indigo pattern as well and that dress would look stunning. Almost like a sunset sky with a golden aura around it.
