So sorry love's. To play it safe just order "arroz kon pollo" which is yellow rice and chicken with no other bits. Croquet's are made of ham or chicken with no disgusting bits. Also, you can order bistek de Pollo or res. That is chicken steak or steak. Bien kosinado, which means well cooked.

I almost fell out of my chair laughing watching this video, here is some information: Rule Nº1 Never order a Valencian paella in a restaurant unless you are in the province of Valencia and outside the tourist sites, Castellon is not in the province of Valencia although it is in the Valencian community. Snails are optional but only if you are served a paella made just for you, if you are served a paella from the menu it will surely have snails in some places. These snails have nothing to do with the slimy snails in the UK, they feed on mountain herbs like rosemary and thyme, they purge them for a week or so, and clean them thoroughly before cooking. Two plates of paella, some croquettes and four beers €70? There your shyness cost you at least €40 extra cost. The waiter will have thought that those crazy foreigners have run away without eating anything and have left me a €40 tip, surely they must have had some emergency or the police are chasing them. Another thing if they serve you a dish that you don't like, nothing happens, you return it and ask for something else. Greetings from Valencia (Spain)

I had paella in the canaries and it was lush ......i also had snails in france with garlic butter and they were lovely......if your struggling in spain god help you in Tunisia 😂 get to Benidorm and have a lovely greasy fry up 😆

We feel your pain but we am sure Benidorm isn't your cup of tea. To ensure you have edible food, we suggest you plan your route so that you can do regular bulk buys from hypermarkets and in between, head off into the smaller towns, villages and quieter coastlines. Sometimes there isn't going to be anything interesting to vlog about except a beautiful sunset and wildlife. We remember in Ireland you used your bigger cameras to film wildlife - did you bring those cameras? We really love the fact you show us the ups and downs of life in Spain - its real life and you two are brilliant at sharing your experiences.

Should you ever be in France and a waiter offers you the delicious dish of the day, Andouillette sausage with fries, then do not be like me and think “lovely, sausage and chips” That particular sausage is made of colon, tripe and pretty much anything out of the bin…it smells of death and tastes like poop. I still gag now thinking of it

25:05 you need to ask for a lemon (limon *leem-on) with a paella and they will give it to you. It brings out the zing. just squeeze it over the dish

To each their own when it comes to food but trust me, they don’t care what you leave on the plate. A good restaurant would have asked if you liked it and if not try to make something else more to your taste but you didn’t give them a chance. I have been watching since the day you bought your motorhome and I can’t tell if you are joking around for the video or not. If not you may want to reconsider your trip to Tunisia.

Hi both PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE look on RU-vid at tapas alley inBenidorm. Check out the tapas - most served on crusty bread with food you know and love - cheese, ham, peppers, black pudding, loads of different hams and cheeses. Ok I do eat snails when the option arises - I will try anything - but each to their own. I was going to say on Friday that Ben8dorm old town is nothing like the British end and REALLY worth a visit for traditional Spanish food. DAN - look out for HABAS FRITAS - deep fried and salted broad beans - a really n8ce snack. I think you would love tapas alley as you can just point to what you want - but English is abundant there. I was a Ben8dorm hater - until I went. Old worth a visit - beautiful church. And lots more..... Keep up great work Hels and Ian

Guys, croquettes are potato with ham, mushrooms or cheese. Spanish people love snails also the Spanish don’t take offence. It doesn’t matter if you leave the entire meal as long as you pay.

Think you were unlucky with the paella - though there’s a lot to be said for egg and chips! The ‘tram’ is what we used to call a trolley bus, when we had them in Glasgow in the 60s. Would have been funny to see the waiter chasing you down the street with your change! 😂

I know how it must have felt. It happened to my Husband in Italy when we stopped at a restaurant to have lunch. We decided on salads, thinking what could go wrong, it's just a salad and ordered, not entirely clear on what we would get. When they came, there was an octopus sitting on top of his with as yet unknown varieties of under if at all cooked fish and calamari throughout. Oh dear, you should have seen his face. There was a panic attack coming. Mine was fresh mozzarella and veggies, so we quickly swapped plates. I pushed mine around like Mazzy did hers, nibbling at what I thought I could which wasn't much. I'm sure that perhaps seafood lovers or those accustomed to the dishes of the region would have found it delectable. Me, not so much. You live and learn and I still love Italy.
