Lol, so cute to see Hays yawning after his 'drive and drive' poem/song/rant :)) Looks like he bored himself :)) Also funny how Pete hardly has any surprise/reaction at his son going on like that and is all focused on driving :)) Good job! Scotland is beautiful. Can't wait to see more!
Man, you guys really lucked out on the weather! I have to say you can never have too many Scottish breakfasts (ditto Irish!), and what I love is that they are usually all slightly different, which makes it even more fun!!
Someone else said that! We drove a lot in our Cape Town series, but generally we're pretty anti-driving so choose most of our trips based on access to public transportation! But clearly sometimes that makes us miss out some pretty stunning scenery. (Back to a city in the next one!) ;)
Worth knowing that instead of of the steam hauled Jacobite train you can do the stunning journey much cheaper and without pre booking on a normal servos diesel train. BTW, glens can be big as well as small valleys . Fresh water lochs are just Scottish lakes, but lochs can also be sea water and tidal, like a fiord.
Thank you! Yes! Scotland is so lovely. It was never super high on our list to visit but I'm really glad that this trip worked out the way it did and I've been recommending it to everyone!
Your video began by Loch Nan Uamh Viaduct which reputedly contains the remains of a horse and cart thar fell into the wet concrete during contruction. There's also a cairn nearby to mark where Charles Edward Stuart first landed to attempt the overthrow of the monarch. It's near Glenfinnan where his supporters gathered to begin the coup attempt.
I'd take issue with your definition of 'glen' - small valley it is not. It's usuall steep-sided-you've been to Glen Coe. A glen is a narrow valley deep in the mountains. Glens often form streams. The top of a mountain is the peak, and the lower parts are valleys. A glen is a valley that's narrow and secluded-it's deep in the mountains. A glen could form a stream, or it could be lush and green.
Sad that Scotland has only become famous due too those Harry Potter films! I loved where you visited, as we went to silver sands for many years with our kids! We are pensioners now and even we haven't seen the whole of Scotland! We were born in Edinburgh 72 years ago and we know that God has gifted us and all Scots in having the best country/nation where everyone wants to live! You guys need to come back and visit the islands of Scotland - It will take your breath away Honestly! Haste ye back!
great vlog, you son will remember this, not all of it, i had 2 girls, one bit older one your sons age, we were at blackpool west coats UK, we had just visited the tower, bought some gifts, but there was a horse and carriage you could get on the seafront, hey lest get that, the girls can feel like princesses, we got of i left my bag of gifts, i realised, im running after the horse and carriage, girls laughing, that was 30 years ago, we still laugh about it great you experince everything, he wont remember it all, but he will remember the good bits
We Scots don't care what we drink out of ! We know our beef, shellfish and fish is amongst the best on Earth and ditto the scenery, education, sailing and whisky. But nicest of all most visitors comment on our friendliness. My (Southern English) partner (how the hell did that happen) has the astoundingly expensive G & T glasses (presented in dark blue boxes) but I refuse to wash them up....one crack equals 5 Easyjet flights to London !
@@StephandPete Not your fault pal. It is all you hear from the brit government. So much so that quite a few Scots think its true. You will have seen the word "Caledonia" in your tour no doubt.
Yes, Scots ARE Brits, whether we like it or not. The mainland island of the British Isles comprises Scotland, England and Wales. It is a geographic fact. Scotland ceased to be a sovereign country in its own right in 1707. Wishful thinking won't change that. Saying that you're Scottish, not British is wilfully ignoring the facts. Scotland is one of the four home nations of the United Kingdom, which is the sovereign state of which you are a citizen. If you have a passport, it is a UK passport, not a Scottish passport.
scotland's been on my bucket list forever for real. it's just a stone's throw from where i live and i still havent been there. and BTW hays seems to be a really smart kid. i like how he complained abt driving.. and driving 😂😂
@@StephandPete I live in Munich, Germany :) Give me a notification if you plan to visit Munich. Although I moved to Munich from Frankfurt just in 2018, so I'm not really any expert on Munich coz this city's culture and history is super deep. You need to be born into it 😅 And yes agree, good parenting 👍🏻 There are even adults who havent figured out that stating facts will make them get their point across much faster rather than whining and throwing a tantrum 😂😂 Hays will definitely have it easy later on!! Looking forward to your upcoming Scotland vlogs 😊
