When I left Brazil after living and working there for three years I chose to make Salvador and Morro do São Paulo my final trip destination before flying back to Europe, spent a very enjoyable last week experiencing Bahian culture, food and people
My future wife is from Salvador, been there now few times, and Morro do SP, great place too, but need strong legs and not too much bagage. Why havent drink your first shot at the Gravinho bar? Love SSA and love Bahia!
E as pessoas acreditam nessa merda.
Hello everyone! Congratulations on your work. I am a journalist, I live in Salvador and we thank you for the loving and caring publicity that you have given to this beautiful City 🙌🏽🙌🏽 certainly, everyone who depends on tourism feels grateful for your generous attitude and respectful work👏🏽👏🏽
Estive em Salvador em 2015, 2016, 2017 ( fiquei por ai sete meses, aluguei casa etc) e 2018. Depois, veio a Pandemia. Pretendo retornar em breve! Salve Salvador!
Ivana, how did you play capoeira so well? You have "ginga", my darling!! Felt impressed here! Guys, you had a magic day in Pelorinho during the day but I recommend you to visit there again in the evening and walk until Santo Antônio Além do Carmo which is right above "Pelô" (that's how we Baianos call Pelourinho). In Santo Antônio there are many really good restauranstes and cafés, the sight is mesmerising, you have music to dance, art of all types to appreciate everywhere and also a lot of history! It is a super bohemian neighbourhood! Enjoy, Axé!
Woah the video quality and editing keeps getting better this was so beautiful to watch. I think this is one of my favorite videos of you guys in Brazil now.

Im SO glad to see you guys outside southeast.. It is kind of a different brazil... I know a lot of things might be harder there, but the moment you look past them you going to see unique people places not be found anywhere else
Hi guys, since you're in Salvador, one curiosity: Michael Jackson recorded his video "They Don't Care About Us" at Pelourinho, with some Olodum players, when he came to Brazil in 90's.
Salvador has a sad history because it was build by slaves hands but yet its one of the most beautiful cities in brazil the entire northeast is a paradise.
I knew you would love Salvador, I was sure that many amazing videos would result, some more will come, certainly. I got married at the São Francisco Church, the most beautiful in Brazil, back in 1977. So nice to see it shinning in the video!
In Pelourinho, they have little doors that look like small places, but through them you get to huge backyards with restaurants, shops and museums. It's like the Narnia movie wardrobe. You must go to "O Cravinho" that have a lot of delicious handcrafted liquors. And I did not see you try the Acarajé, Abará or Moqueca. Are you afraid of the spices? :D
Salvador. Truly Brazil's Lisboa Portuguese but mostly African Influence shown in beautiful sights of beaches and outstanding architecture. Salvador, the first capital city of Brazil
As a Soteropolitana that has lived in Miami for 25 years and has not been to Salvador in 20, these videos made me tear up. So amazing how you immersed in the culture. Once you experience this, there is no forgetting. THANK YOU for exposing to the world, and for reminding me why I have been depriving myself. Can’t wait to watch all the other videos! ENJOY YOURSELVES ❤
Thank you 🙏🏻 thoroughly enjoyed this video as it’s taken me back to some of my best times in Salvador. Stayed a couple of times in Pelourinho and Santo Antonio (nearby) I also had the pleasure of staying for a lengthy period at the HIT Hotel overlooking Praia do Porto da Barra
I guess your overview on Brazilian culture kind of changed since you guys went to Ouro Preto, especially Mina do Chico Rei, , and I think it was for better! Indeed, we inherited all of the joy and colours and sunny spirit from the Africans that were forcely brought to the American continent, but also we kind of use all that joy and colours and sunny spirit to cope with the painful past of our ancestors. Despite of the "European" vibe of some Brazilian cities and towns, we cannot (and we should not) move away from that past, because it is part of what we are. I am glad you guys are having the chance to face our culture considering those historical contradictions, because it allows you guys to face both our past and our present. Enjoy your trip and enjoy Salvador (which is one of a kind!),
You guys should definitely give carnaval a chance!! the energy and overall experience is just so unique. Maybe go during the day, to a smaller "bloco". Even if in the end you conclude is simply not your thing.. If you guys have energy and (most importantly) some comfortable shoes lol I would give it a shot! Great video 💖 beautifully shoots
You guys got some incredible images from Salvador, very beautiful. Regarding the bracelets thing, I also had to deal with some pushy vendors when I was visiting as well. But overall, most people selling things to tourists are very nice.
There are 3 wonderful places to visit in Bahia: "Moro de São Paulo", "As grutas das Chapadas Diamantinas" and "Boipeba" (an island with natural beauties for those who like to do eco tourism on their own)
Great city, great Vlog! I was able to do Carnival in Feb 2020 for 4 days, just a week before lock downs. Enjoy. Question, what do you film on, preference, GoPro Vs Camera? We are about 4 months form starting our 3+ year global journey, first stop Taiwan May 26, 2023 ✈
Woo! So happy for you. We use GoPro, Canon M50 with 250mm lens, iPhone 11, and DJI Mavic Mini 2. Depending on the scenario, each one can be best to film on. To vlog on, GoPro is our choice. It’s got a windscreen, tripod, and software stabilization so it’s best to spin back and forth and do the blah blah bits. Although, the newer iPhone with a tripod is also great to vlog on. My friends have it, it’s great. Goodluck on your trip!! I hope you have a great time 👍👍
My girlfriend and future mother of my first child came to visit me in western Europe end of november 2022 , N.L. she was born in Salvador Bahia , 40 years ago .
Just one thing, i don't think "Pelourinho" came from english pillory, but from Latin Pilloria (which got to english by french influencies on the language). Anyway, excellent video!
Yes. I thought of that when I was editing the video. I said pelourinho came from the word pillory, what I meant was it is related to the word pillory. I was going to correct it in the edit but I just left it. My mistake
@@JetLagWarriors i see, these things happen but good work anyway, keep it up bro! ❤️❤️❤️ Love from João Pessoa! You guys should definitely visit more Northeast region cities, there are beautiful beaches here.
Ivana, I think you gave it away now, you’re actually Brazilian and have been pretending to be a gringa all this time! That capoeira ginga is something you’re born with, and girl, you’ve got it big time! Hugs from a homesick Brazilian living in the UK. XXX
Just a curious question, do you plan to visit the Amazon too? It would be interesting to see your experience. (And don't worry because most Brazilians have never seen the Amazon in person either. lol) I love your channel, it's amazing
I can't believe I was in my hometown on the same week visiting the same places as you guys, I'm a huge fan of the channel and would be amazing to meet you two. I'm from Salvador and although I'm living in another city for a few years now I just love this place, everything my people do is musically and spiritually passionate ❤💙🤍
Incubated racists or closet racists. There is a very common type of racism in Brazil, veiled racism. Where they speak in a non-committal way. The typical implication of saying that we are lazy is just an excuse to criticize without showing their racism.
