I’m posting at 1 hour after upload and already 106 comments not including me ! Views are over 5,500 ! Your videos are doing great, your channel is growing, deservedly so. Great job guys 👍 ❤❤❤
I wonder if Maverick would like to have those pop-outs from the electrical boxes. They look like pirate treasure coins. You could even spray paint them gold if you wanted.
I wish they would. The problem is that the people who don't like us or our work are the top viewers. They make sure to watch every video and are often some of the first to arrive. For some reason they can't stop watching and become obsessed with being rude for no reason at all. They never have anything better to do and don't want to spend their time watching things they enjoy.
every time you drop one of those knockouts on the floor it triggers a great memory of my seven year old self following my dad around while he was building our home. we would chase those round little coins until we collected enough to play store cashier.....thanks for the memories.
Doug, you are one smart guy!! You know EVERYTHING about building! Everytime I watch I'm amazed of your extreme knowledge!!! I bet the guys on This Old House show would LOVE to have you!!! You know more than they do!!!!
Doug, you always think thru your projects. You are the only one who has to be accountable. 😊I know your first priority is keeping your family safe.😊 The panels and front door look 👍.
Love the siding. The green door is beautiful with the color of the siding. Love your channel! You never get boring. Enjoy watching whatever you are doing.
I always enjoy your videos! I primarily want to comment because the posts that have any comments about your clothing or how you should have done something differently are offensive to me...just rude! You two are some of the best workers and I appreciate how you do things.
I was going to comment about the bug, it looked like a roach, but it has been addressed. Maverick makes me smile, laugh at the end saying bye, he is looking forward to say it.
You could tell getting started on the siding made you really excited. I love that door on your terrace/porch or whatever you call it. Have a good day. Bye Maverick 👋🏼
Good morning to my favorite channel. Y’all are doing great on your projects. I love everything you do. Love the door and color. All I can say is always do you and both houses are going to be beautiful. 👏👏👏👏
why waste time posting negative comments? I have been following since the red and white trailer. Its amazing at the talent and things you have learned along the way, both of you. I love the green door. Also I learned from you both not to be afraid to try to dyi on my mobil home.
This primer ,I think was from when you guys did the back porch area and had primer matched to the same color as the exterior until you could paint later on, great job 👍
That siding looks fantastic.I had no idea guardian angels dealt in primer, but obviously yours are a cut above and a couple of them hefted that can of primer over to you for just this job. Heavenly ❤
It’s a water bug, are at least that’s what we call them in Texas. They don’t infest a house like cockroaches do. They love old wood outside to hide in. They are called water bugs because they can come up around plumbing or where there’s water
I didn't think I was gonna like the siding, but now that I've seen it, it do like it. You know that the video doesn't really end until Maverick says bye. There are still some old videos playing on endlessly forever out there in the ether.
You are doing great everything takes time and you both have a eye for detail and that's terrific! You do what you want and what makes you happy, we are just here to cheer you on! :)
My God! You can do ANYTHING!!! I continue to be impressed with every job you tackle and you are nonstop. You have confidence and your cuts are PERFECT! Your wife better know how blessed she is to have you. My husband can’t do anything, in fact, everything he touches he breaks 😖. I do all the repairs around here unless we have to hire out. It’s so much fun watching your videos! Just be sure to time to enjoy yourself. You work sooooo hard!
I enjoy watching you run the wire The whole process... I don't know if anyone said anything to you about not watching the whole process but I miss it I miss you under the house showing us how you're running the wire along and where you're pulling it up cuz I just enjoy it
Well, the views went down quite a bit on these last couple of wiring videos so to me that says that many people aren't interested in seeing this part. And it's a slow job, and it adds a lot of work to keep moving the camera around under the house with me as I crawl under the chassis and climb in and out over and over, if people aren't even interested. We feel like a lot of other channels can post anything they want and people enjoy it, but we really have to work to keep people interested in what we are doing. Most people skip through the videos and then we have to spend our days answering all their questions that we already answered in the videos but they didn't feel like watching. It's frustrating at times. We try so hard to make well edited, well paced, enjoyable videos. Along with that, we have seen a huge increase in complaining and silly questions with these videos. People think we are stupid and don't know what we are doing. It is discouraging.
@@diyfferent It seems to me that there has been a general trend to complaining more all across RU-vid videos, recently. I'm an electrician. Would I do some things differently? Yes. Do I think you two are doing a great job and appreciate your considered approach? Also, yes. I enjoy your videos, personally, I find the effort you have put into editing these somewhat repetitive sections shows - they flow well. It's part of the process. Oh, and, yes, your decision to go with metal boxes was not only the right one in terms of depth but also rigidity and fire safety. Now, a question. Are you going to put in hard-wired smoke alarms? You know there's a cute blue 14/3 cable for that..... Sorry, couldn't resist.
@@diyfferent I don’t know if people think you are stupid as much as people don’t watch your whole videos or haven’t been watching you for awhile, lol. Caught myself answering one of those questions for you the other day I definitely see how it can get annoying. Like you should hard wire for smoke alarms- what? Lol. This is the 4th or 5th reno I’ve seen you guys do, smh, and you have even mentioned several times in this series that you’ve done it. Just replying because I hate to think of you getting discouraged, I love your new channel also and think you are doing great and creative things and enjoying the journey.
I'm really sorry to hear that your views went down I enjoy watching your content I've been watching your videos for a long time...... But I think possibly the environment that are country is in right now is very sad and I think a lot of people are stressed out about the future after the elections in November I know some days I get on here to watch RU-vid and I'm frustrated and I start finding myself bouncing around and going back and bouncing around and going back were before I wasn't doing that I was watching the video all the way through..........
I'm with you on using 14/2 for the bedrooms. Really no need for the extra expense of 12/2 for bedrooms, however, I thought I heard you say you were going to use a mini split system. It may be a challange to get the air in the bedrooms if the door is closed for privacy . My brother heated with a wood stove and bought through-the-wall electric vents, which was mainly a through-the-wall kitchen or bath vent with a decorative cover on both sides that was super quiet and it's purpose was to move heated or cooled air from one room to the other. He placed it high on the wall where the heat gathered to move the heated air into the bedrooms. Worked out well. In your case since moving cool air is more of a concern because of where you live, placing it lower down toward where the cooler air is would be better. You may want to ponder on this and if it's a possibility, go ahead and run a wire in the wall before you put up your wall coverings. Just a thought.
You always try to explain everything to us...That's nice, very easy to understand your intentions. I just am amazed at all that you juggle and through it all you are husband, Daddy, and superman and superlady that does all these projects for us to watch. You are admired by alot of folks, please know that.
When I saw the bug go by my first thought was is that one of those giant hissing cockroaches (knowing Belle's interest in Entomology I thought she might have one as a pet.)
So thrilled with the siding! I love that door and the color. It's gonna be so darned good!!! HI Mav! Hello to Belle :) Can't wait guys. God Bless. Love, Granny
I agree with your comments regarding the bedroom. My kids think I’m crazy for not having my cell phone next to my bed. When I sleep, it stays in the kitchen. My dad and I bought an EMF reader and I was shocked at the output just coming from the plug in alarm clock!
I LOVE a mobile home! Many moons ago, that red one caught our eye, and we watched you rebuild it to perfection. The home, barn and property were completely restored. What you have done with this house and property is simply unbelievable. Anyone else would have passed it by as a total loss. PS: I wonder what became of the old school house…🤔
Yes! I have been watching all this time too. I like how Doug thinks. The plan man and he knows the value of quality. Admirable! I absolutely love this family! And my Gawd! Have you seen Maverick’s art? Wow!❤
When I was in trade school in the 1960’s one of the guys took a knock out and worked to the exact size as a quarter. Tried it in a vending machine, it worked! My old shop teacher would really like your work. He always emphasized that we were to do our work in a neat and workmanlike manner.
This video was packed full of accomplishments. Extra trips to purchase additional supplies always annoy me. It also impacts my momentum. I end-up feeling less prepared than I should have been. The RainGuard product is new to me. Of course it makes perfect sense. I will add that to my DD List aka Doug Data List. I honestly cannot fathom how Eevee and Doug accomplish so much both on video and otherwise, videos are edited and posted, homeschooling Belle and Maverick, research and plan future projects, maintaining their home, etc. No small accomplishment! I am thankful they share their journey via RU-vid.
3:26 OMG .... Break out the Advion Roach gel NOW! Best stuff ever for here in Florida!! I used it 2.5 yrs ago after maintenance replaced my fridge in my townhome apt ....it was infested, German roaches. It was a horror show in my kitchen. I promise Advion is THE BEST.... I've not seen ANY bugs in 2.5 yrs!
Florida is the best place we've ever lived. Cockroaches don't bother any of us. I picked that little cute guy up with my bare hand and tossed him outside later that day and he flew away. It's wild that an insect made you move to a different state.
Oh I love, love that green door. It is beautiful! You and Eevee work so well together. That siding looks like the siding my husband put on a building he built to put all his tools & odd & ends into. That was about 30 years ago and it is still standing. May not have been the same material as it has been so long ago, but it looks the same. He painted it a pale green color. We’ve never had to repaint it. I did repaint the door last month when I got some green paint the same shade. But the siding is still ok. The work is going so fast on the trailer. You know just what to do whether it is framing, wiring or whatever. I’m going to hate seeing it finished because I am enjoying it so much!! Hope you understand what I mean. Until next time. ❤❤❤❤
Lost my comment. Love the siding choice, that is going to look modern and sharp. I'd try to finish the siding on that house, mainly because I cannot wait to see it finished, Also, though we are in hurricane country, the winds can lift roofs off and peel them like a sardine can, and it will peel the walls without a solid surface. Been known to push walls in too, seen in Hurrican in South Carolina large holes in walls that were solid, objects sticking through the side wall in the middle of a wall. I think about it and get her done. Rain coming down so hard it is flooding the house from small gaps in foundations, window casing, door edges because the winds push it hard against surface. Hugo, they actually nailed doors close using 3 x 4 during the storm because it wanted to blow the door in. So, think about buttoning up those outside walls, getting the house sealed and safe. What I believe causes most damage is the wind getting into the house, like doors or windows going, it will help to lift the roof off. Just something to think about getting done for safety reason. Other I wise, I would not stay in home during huge storms. Not trying to scare you but been in so many hurricanes I cannot count them. peace!
The home has been like this since 2021. We're not scared of hurricanes where we are. The people who have to worry the most are the ones who live closest to the shoreline. We've come very close to being hit by tornadoes in other states (New York and Indiana). For some reason we're just not the scared type. But we're just ready to get the siding done just to get it done once and for all :)
Good morning, Family. I was watching and saw a bug that looked like one of them, Florida cockroach. I don't know if you saw it or not, or maybe a big beetle. 😊
I love working with 14 gauge! My bedroom has life support machines in it for my husband. Dialysis machines that need heaters and pumps. Im glad it’s 20 amps for that. I’m sure that’s not common but there are lots of old people in mobile homes.
