A random thought I had: This place was horrid as we san see, but if most (if not all) of the prisoners died at the gallows I wondered for a moment if that's why there's little activity. A place can carry the energy and essence of what took place there, such as the atrocities here, but the prisoners died outside and so maybe all (or most) of the spirts of the dead were able to be free (whether ascending to the sky or elsewhere depending on your belief) rather than being trapped in the place, hence minimal activity.

Charlie being resistant isn't something only a nonbeliever will experience. A good friend of mine had the key and permission to "the most haunted" Octagon Hall in Kentucky. I was raised in Pentecost so wild spiritual activity was an atmosphere I was prepared for. I didn't go in trying to make an effort to communicate but just observe and listen to the stories, he knew, about what happened there. An hour or so into it (just me and him w no lights) he told me I could get "them" to throw things and respond to us. I wasn't interested. As we left he begin telling me about bringng others in and activity being off the charts but with me it was the most peaceful he had ever seen. Multiple times I've been in places where people had been virtually harassed by whatever was there and I would be unbothered. A few times it was someone right next to me. If you don't ɓelive or seem to not believe they don't want you to. And Eddie..... you know your limits on entertaining these things and potentially bringing a "friend" home with you. Becareful brother. Go with God. It is better to have not known the truth, than to know and still stray. I feel like you know man. If not from growing up around the church definitely from your experiences here. As a Christian though I wish we could get a group up in a church with some rich a** worship music and try to Invoke a movement from God itself. Could be fun ❤ Love from Kentucky brother!!

For a bit of background as to why they likely claimed it's the most haunted place in all of Florida. The entire area of St. Augustine in and of itself, is a very haunted place due to war, disease and death. However, my personal opinion is that Fort Augustine itself would likely be more haunted. Also, St Augustine's lighthouse is said to be haunted, but I'm doubtful of that. The reason why I think it would be more haunted is thus: Castillo de Dan Marcos, more commonly known as Fort Augustine, was built in 1696 and is still standing till this day. When the Civil War broke out in 1861, it was originally being occupied by Confederate troops, it was quickly overrun by Union troops in 1862, just one year after the war had broken out. In the battle for control over Fort augustine, 122 soldiers were killed 16 soldiers were captured, 14 soldiers deserted battle and 56 artillery pieces were confiscated by the Union and 1 schooner was captured. From research, many people believe that the dungeon of Castillo de San Marcos is one of, if not the most haunted places in the fort itself.

From a psychological perspective, I wonder what it would be like if you guys did the investigation prior to the tours with as little information as possible about the site. One commonality I've noticed is that, by doing the tour and/or research prior to investigating the site, the information previously obtained is highly conducive to confirmatory bias and availability huristics. By doing the tour/research, your brain is essentially prepped to attend to specific stimuli that you know are likely to occur based on previous knowledge or experiences. The brain is also prepped to seek out specific keywords or terms and interpret words in a way that fits the specific preconceived notion of what is expected to happen. As well, it preps the brain to disregard any occurances that contradict or simply don't fit said preconceived notion. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love these paranormal videos... However, what if you were to investigate and later compare experiences to see how they fit or differ from known historical facts/lore?
