Rory is a legend he might be passing up Fab Rats as my favorite channels of Matt's offroad recovery cartel. Bleeping Jeep is sick too tho. rRobbie Layton is ok in short bursts lol
You know I was already impressed with the Hilux but now I’m really freaking impressed with that thing! Yeah I can see how the Toyota guys are upset with for what he did but he really did an ultimate durability test on that thing.
@@mikehourihan6659 Not really he only took it to water scrached it a bit and droped it with a building which was decent. They never shoved how really tought it was.
I’m so glad you guys are on RU-vid. I don’t watch television or movies, and I don’t even listen to music, RU-vid is the only thing I watch… and the only thing I watch, it’s educational content. Thanks Dave.
That AMC Eagle is SICK!!! This was probably the first shakedown run? She's gonna be a weapon once the kinks are worked out!! Awesome to see different shots of poor Cody hammering that Hilux🤣🤣🤣
Man this hurt my soul, that truck was kicking so much ass the whole video and was still kicking ass! I thought it was gonna be some already totaled truck that got dropped! There’s just something about seeing such a perfectly designed machine destroyed for no reason
Thanks for the tip on Rory's website. I can see Dave's new project to build a tow truck with some of the great features Rory had put to gather. Dave would be un-stoppable if would use one of his heavy tow truck. Have fun as always.
Serious props... (lol) to the pilots. Especially the lift pilot! That's some quality flying, aiming and handling with pin point set-down on a trailer that would make most military pilots grin. I would not be surprised at all if that pilot had a few tours under their belt :). Great video of some amazing team work and flying!
That turned out to be something worth watching. I never expected it to flatten out like it did. I did helicopter logging in Forks Washington and we lifted logs that were much heavier than the truck so when a log did cut loose at say two hundred feet or enough to clear any standing timber around and get to a loading zone. I never once suspected this
seeing the raw footage makes me realise just how good wd's editing is.. don't need fancy stuff just great content well presented. Great effort all involved, bravo!!
great vid nice to see 2 great teams come together. Big props to all the camera guys getting them angles and getting out the way trust me you guys don't go unappreciated
This would have been the perfect video to have some crew member call Matt's Off Road Recovery and tell them there's a wrecked truck that needs to be pulled out, then hide everybody else and watch. Or better yet, have the helicopter go set it down in one of his repeat business spots and then make the call.
Hahahaha that was crazy! Sucks you didnt show the first drop. But, wow. That was a wild video !! Hope you guys doing well, thanks for the entertainment!
The energy from that speed in free fall is 🧠 💥🤯 ING!!! If you imagine that the weight of the roof alone had enough g force to buckle the pillars like foam noodles. Incredible! Gotta give credit to those few that have managed to survive free fall with both chutes inop.
Another awesome video! That was really bad ass!! Love the videos. I really love that part when stuff brakes and everyone comes together to help fix an get rolling again. That’s priceless.
Matt's Off-road Recovery (RU-vid) is based on Hurricane, UT and does tons of off road recovery in their area and they have done some crazy recoveries in DEEEEP off-road/rock crawling locations, including Zion National Park and still of the sand and rocks out in that area. I think they were out at Moab too. Check those guys out too!
Thank you for not over-editing or over-producing your videos 👍 Much of what you do could be sensationalized, and I’m glad you keep it relatively raw. Also, Hilux is amazing at taking abuse. On the other hand, I don’t think AMC will be pleased with their mechanical failures being highlighted on such mild terrain 🤣
Lets hear it for the star of this episode, the helicopter pilot flying the truck around. What is that guys name he is amazing at his job. He placed that dead truck on the trailer so perfect and all those guys were hanging on it. What a pro!
It would be amazing to use that Helo to assist your amazing work cleaning up the canyons like you did just up the street from me in Farmington Canyon! I could only imagine the hourly rate to contract Mountain West and the K-Max
We need to see a sparks and whistlin diesel build. I want to see the most massive ridiculous truck parts can build. And I want to see it jump and float!
You need to see James May on Top gear when they put a Hilux on top of a block of flats then blew up the flats and then drove the Hilux out of the rubble
Spending my spare time rebuilding old trucks, I can’t bring myself to watch whistlin diesels channel. Hurts too much. That’s why I love heavy D’S channel
I'd like to see you take the fail of the year and the brodozer up to Wisconsin and go wheeling with BSF towing and recovery. That would be an awesome video. Eric with BSF is a shop manager for a Chevrolet dealership. So if you break anything he'll be able to help you out.
4:08 for anyone who hasn't actually been to Potato Salad hill, do NOT be tricked by the camera. That obstacle is STEEP as hell, sketchy as hell, and not near as much traction as the rest of Moab. I've driven on Potato Salad, I can't believe he just sent it.... I bet there were a ton of takes for that footage lol. Gotta work up the nerve to do something like that!
I really hope y’all made him clean up everything he dropped along the trails. Moab ain’t just backwoods like he’s used to, they’re national/state parks.
Rory has a pretty impressive tow rig specialized to suit Moab trails, he knows how to Wheel it for sure. I doubt any vehicle can survive even a 50' fall, just the amount of force on impact is too extreme.
Hey Heavy D i love your channel honestly i felt pain for that hilux and also the fact that it can feed my family for as long as its on the road anyway great stuff.
If you go find what your good at and work hard marketing yourself, maybe you can feed your family..... You don't have one of those trucks because you don't work hard enough and you probably work for someone.
That dudes helicopter skills are a1 he was about to stick that landing on the trailer at the end and he swung in clean connecting the car to pick it up that was good shit
Wow! THAT WAS the BIGGEST WASTE of a really reliable VEHICLE I have ever witnessed! So sad to me, as that Toyota that was demolished, is "my" dream truck! So much for helping folks out : ( Other than breaking my heart, You Guys rock!
