He's gotta ween us off him for when he finally retires, so... yeah. We've come to like most of the cast over the years (notably Slick/Luke, Anthony and Riley), so it's working, but there's still a few that need more screen time, and in turn, more experience. Nothing can ever replace Linus, but nothing lasts forever.

I think IPad is playing the same game that you mentioned in your chromebook video, they are getting schoolkids used to their IPads, so by the time they grow up, they might chose to use an IPad, with all of its fancy features

@Jdrocco It will have a marginally weaker GPU than the xbox but the higher clock speeds hopefully make up for that. I am a PC gamer though, and it does make me salty both consoles are going to put my r5 3600 and rtx 2060 PC to shame out of the gate.

Daze I bought one of those $12 chrome books on eBay and it does what I need it to do pretty good, i use it when I just need to use the internet, but now I put an ssd in my main PC and it’s quicker, but still I’m using a copy of cloud ready in a gm just because sometimes I would rather just use chrome os

I literally just recorded, mixed and mastered an album for my music school using only the iPad pro 2018 and I only had a couple of glitches along the way (probably cubasis 2 glitches not Ipad ones). Super happy with this device. Just wish they supported windows layout keyboards and external monitors better. Oh and that they would finally give up on forcing everyone to use itunes if they want to directly transfer files to a pc.

I use FileExplorer Pro for all my file management on iOS/iPadOS/Android/TVOS, along with a great app called audioshare for doing audio related things that FXP doesn’t handle so well. Supports SMB, AFP, and all that good stuff (my home server is a Power Mac G4 with support for both SMB/AFP). Video playback over the network is great too! It’s amazing just how much you really can do with a tablet or mobile device these days. Not quite a replacement for windows or Mac OS, but it’s getting closer year by year!

You should make a similar video with Samsung DEX on the TAB S7 or Note phones. I daily drive a note 10+ and I haven't opened my laptop in a while. My phone is connected to a 32'' 4K display, bluetooth keyboard and mouse, works with any dock station or dongle and it is a real desktop like experience. The file manager is clean, you can connect to any server, dropbox, google drive and organise your files as you please, you can multi task with windows or google apps, Adobe premier rush for video editing, etc. With a decent internet, you can play xbox game pass games with a remote. I know it's not a very interesting subject for you guys but it is worth mentioning, as for regular consumers this can easily replace an laptop.

You guys should make one on the remote desktop capabilities. I would love to get googles attention as chrome remote desktop doesn't currently support iPad Mouse. However, Windows Pro Remote Desktop does work amazingly well! I've even been able to get some light work done in davinci resolve remotely. Also, screens works great for macs. As someone that remotes into different computers on various networks the iPad Air 4 has been a necessity in my life. Its so nice not having to take a laptop which gets the job done a lot better, but a lot slower too honestly. iPads are snappy af now

Luma Fusion is Awesome! It is designed with touch in mind. I realized most things still operate on a one input point and click fashion. I would imagine a mouse actually slows you down

I have the 2017 Ipad Pro 12.9" with a Logitech Slim Combo, a great mechanical & detachable keyboard. I've been using that particular iPad A LOT since I purchased it, at least 3-4 times more than my previous iPad -- but that model, as great as it is, doesn't have USB-C... and THAT makes such a huge difference. We seem to forget about it now that it's just there, but that port is actually the most important thing to this "pseudo-laptop" experience.

The Dell thunderbolt USB C dock does work on the iPad Pro. I bought the dell dock for Linux support and was pleasantly surprised how flawless it works with the iPad Pro. (No, thunderbolt only devices are still not supported but seems the iPad can use the display port lane for example)

I’ve used the exact same setup for the past 2 years and agree with everything here, I often didn’t use any Google services dedicated apps and just used the websites, also bought the shiftscreen app, at first it was a game changer but you begin to see its drawbacks. I agree with everything stated in this video, but when you simply need to get through a work day, the iPad is a powerhouse.

I think that playback problems in Lumafusion is due to the iPad connectivity and not to slow hardware and bad software, i personally edited a 4k video 60mb/s with RGBA fx, keyframes, color correction and all the possibile stuff, plus a Skype call for stress testing: it never had a framedrop. And It wasn't an iPad Pro, but the cheapest iPad 6 with 2 Gb of RAM and an old fashioned A10 fusion chip. And that's why I'm personally really interested in what Apple is going to do with ARM in its new computer series
