*This is precious, you made me get choked up because you are such a darling couple.* *My first marriage I bought a $15 dress and I of course am fat, so a dear friend's mom added lace and it worked perfectly; but after 17 yrs he cheated so...* *My second marriage I thrifted a lace shirt and I used an old slip and then sewed strong but antique lace, even received some lace from a co-workers Grandma's stash onto the slip.**There is nothing more personal than having a simple handmade wedding and dress.**My eldest son officiated and my second eldest son was my "Mister of Honor," and my two younger sons stood up to give me away.**My sons wore all black and my husband wore a simple black suit with a black shirt with a reddish tie and a black Peaky Blinder hat.**We had it at a bowling alley/family fun center, in a private party room I decorated with hearts and space aliens.**We had the best time with 25 guests, the room was free if you ordered over $250 in food, then my twin paid for the food and my new Father-in-law the booze.* *We bowled and played the carnival games there, it was a blast.*

Tho I still respect people's ways on spending money on the wedding because that's none of my business. I just feel like all your focus should be on your bride or groom, and family. I have real respect for you. You’re kidding right? Those masks were made out of absolutely useless fabric. Studies show that wearing masks made with fabric with that loose of a weave is actually WORSE than if you didn’t wear a mask at all. The droplets that come from your breath go through that tiny weave and get broken up and spread more than if you didn’t wear a mask.

Wow! The sweater video was one of the earliest "viral videos" i can remember. Probably predates the term viral being used in that way. I wasn't subscribed until she began the thrifted transformations and i was so shocked to se the sweater video and mens collared shirt video in her archive. It was like learning the hamster dance page was now a midi music tutorial blog. Anyways, congrats on your marriage and your long youtube career!

Interesting how in the present age any minimalist wedding is called an elopement. The term used to refer to running off to get married in secret against the disapproval of the families, in a place without a waiting period. Spectacular dress, by the way.

In the present age, I most often hear "elopement" referring to a very short engagement usually with a destination wedding and, indeed, few to zero guests. I think the first time I ever heard the term "eloped" was in 20th Century Fox's Anastasia. At the end of the movie, Anastasia and Dimitri run away together to get married, but there is no negative connotation. The Grandmother's servant/companion even calls it romantic and the "perfect ending", and the Grandmother responds fondly that it's "the perfect beginning".
