You picked a winner here guys. In 1969 Eddie recorded and released his own version of the song and it charted in the United States in 1970 at #2. Another soul group worth listening to is the Philly soul sound of the DELFONICS.

You have to react to his live version back in 2012. This came out back in 1969 when I was a 14-year-old freshman in high school. He blew everyone out of the water with his very high voice. And 43 years later in 2012 at an oldies concert in New Jersey...He was still hitting those high notes. Now that I am 69-year-old senior citizen, the song still rocks me to my core. Awesome!

One of my favorites from that era. Just a lovely voice and a sweet, lovely sentiment. Try Mel Carter doing "Hold Me, Kiss Me, Thrill Me", Tommy Edwards doing "All In The Game", Smokey Robinson doing "Ooh Baby Baby", and of course, Sam Cooke doing "You Send Me". For Sam, try the live black and white version from the old American Bandstand with Dick Clarke.

If you're thinking about doing It's All In The Game, it has an amazing piece of trivia attached to it: the melody was written in 1911 by Charles Dawes, who was Vice President of the U.S. under Calvin Coolidge and a Nobel Peace Prize winner! Dawes grew to hate the melody because it was the first thing everybody wanted to talk about to him -- not being Vice President, a Nobel winner, or any of his other accomplishments.
