We finally found out Pinky's breed!!! Rescue Dog DNA Test RESULTS! 

I'm convinced every dog telepathically convinces their owner to look like them. Soph literally looks so much like Pinky lmaoo. And when I got my brown dog I suddenly started loving the color and buying everything brown

Pinky’s mismatched ears are so adorable 🥺🥺

The doggy DNA tests are kinda like the human ones. The more tests that get done, the bigger the database gets, so the more accurate the results will get over time. Also, even though the results don't matter with how much you love them, it can tell you about breed standards and possible issues that can come from them. Also, I have a background in genetics, so I'd totally be willing to answer any questions you have about how the tests work if you want!

German puppies go through a time of "ear awkwardness" 😅 their ears eventually go up but it usually starts with one. Pinky's ears are adorable so I kinda hope they stay how they are now.

Wow 24 breeds! My dog is a mix of 19 breeds according to wisdom panel, pinky is the first dog I’ve heard of with more breeds than ours!

My parents got a rescue dog from Romania in August called Dougal. He actually looks a lot like Pinkie but is Ginger. She’s super cute 🥰

Hi Soph! A lot of strays in Romania have Pinky's build! I feel like they've literally created a "breed" from just so many strays mixing, like you said happened in Greece. They're so cute. A very popular breed here for the past many years has been the pekingese and I feel like their short legs have been passed on to strays and now so many of them have this feature. I feel like the breeds that came up in her test might not be very accurate cause I saw some breeds that would be very rare if not not even exist in Romania, I guess some of them are the ancestors of other breeds that are common. Anyway she is so adorable and I'm so glad she lives such a lovely life with you♥️

I loved watching this. Pinks is a special dog! Also I'm from Romania and on the streets most of the dogs look like Pinky, ones are bigger, ones shorter, but in average they look like her.

Soph, my heart melted. I ve been following you for so long and now seeing you adopted a dog from Romania it melts my heart. I was a volunteer to a charitable organisation for stray dogs in Romania and i can tell u save her life and changed it forever❤️

I'm really surprised there is no Kokoni in her! I have a Romanian street dog rescue, we adopted her in February 2020. She's been incredible. Never been in a house before us but she settled in wonderfully from the get go, she is the most gentle girl with zero prey drive, she's been a dream. Couldn't have been better if she'd been from a fancy breeder! We had her DNA test done. She basically looks like a small flatcoat Retriever or black golden retriever,, and her brother who she was rescued with looked like a golden lab/retriever. Her DNA results showed her to be 62% golden retriever which makes sense, 10% lab which also makes sense, and the rest 'sporting breed' but they weren't able to detect specifically what for sure. Their guesses were collie or spaniel, and I reckon it's spaniel for sure as she looks so much like a large black spaniel, and has a lot of their personality traits too. Romanian street dogs are the best dogs 💖

Its definitely beneficial to find out what breeds are in a dog due to known illnesses that affect certain breeds. Though smaller dogs it is less of an issue

Hiii, I'm from Romania and I volunteer at an Animal Rescue NGO. We don't really see dogs like Pinky too often, a big part of the strays here are some sort of shepherd mixes, quite often labrador, bichon or some kind of pitbull/amstaff mix, usually the breeds that are found easily, come from illegal breeding and are abandoned more often. Pinky has quite rare features from what I've seen so far on the streets of Romania. She's a lucky girl to have you as family.

I would recommend putting pinky in doggy day care once a week if she’s not going already. my nearly 2 year old dog has been going for a few months now and it’s really helped calm him down!

I’m from Croatia and I have a rescue Australian Kelpie dog! I never heard of them until then and joined a Facebook group to find more about then. They helped me a lot with how to train him. You got her in the most “problematic” years as she was becoming a teenager and loves to rebel. And then after one year they tend to stop arguing with you and actually starts to listen.

Aww she is a cutie 🥰. We got our Romanian rescue in July and when we seen him he was tiny and he was described as a small terrier mix. Fast forward 8 months and he has stilts for legs and is completely bonkers but we all adore him x

We had our gorgeous German Shepherd for nearly 10 years until 2020 when we didn't anymore. 😢 When he was a puppy one ear gradually went up, then the other just stayed down! It was the sweetest thing ever 💖 He had a course of antibiotics one time and it finally went up! 😂 I can see some similarities with pinky, especially the ears and head/neck shape! She's lovely

I have miniature pinscher and a chihuahua. My min pins ear are the same way, one up one down. He still looks like a puppy even though he’s 12 years old. My chihuahua is the smartest dog I’ve ever had with the best memory I’ve seen on a dog. They are both the such little cuddle bugs always wanting to be on someone’s lap.

Hey Soph I’m an assistant dog groomer stylist and I think I may be able to help you control Pinky’s shedding! I don’t know if you do use a dog groomer or take Pinky to a grooming salon, but most groomers will have a deshedding package to offer which usually consists of specialised shampoo, conditioner and brushes for dogs that shed a lot of undercoat, this is particularly popular for German Shepherds! It basically assists in getting as much undercoat out as possible while in the salon which in turn will mean less hair around your house! There is also a brush called the furminator which is so so good at getting undercoat out, you can get these on Amazon. Hopefully this may be able to help you, because I know from owning a border terrier how much hair shedding dogs can leave around the house 🤣 also love seeing Pinky in your vids 🤍

Dogs of all shapes and sizes are great. I have a boxer bull mastiff cross, and even though he weighs 135 lbs he is the most cuddly lap dog ever.

You were lucky they were able to name that many breeds! When we DNA'd my sisters Romanian rescue wisdom panel offered our money back because they couldn't narrow down any breeds except 12% German shepherd. They classified her as a Mega Mutt. We didn't take them up on the refund but knowing they offered that and seeing how many breeds they were able to detect in your dog makes me realise just how mixed Lizzie must have been! They were really spot on with my own dog though, who had 4 breeds in equal measure, but I did her many years ago before she passed so I didn't get the extra info that you did

The switch in behaviour around 1.5-2 years is most definitely the German shepherd in her!

I definitely see the German Sheppard in her after owning a few of then in the past. Her ears for sure are like gs and the amount you say she sheds German Sheppards are awful for shedding! 😂😂❤ she seems like a massive sweetheart 🐕

German shepherd is a surprise but her back end looks like a stocky strong mini version of a German shepherd so I kinda see it! She's quite broad even though her legs are short. This is cute to have a lil pinky update! Xx

We have a romanian rescue, she turns four this month. Something to keep in mind.. we got ours at 4 months old and she had her first season at 9 months. 🙂

I have a chihuahua terrier mix she's nuts. The chihuahua part of her is very protective, loves to burrow, steals the warmth. Her terrier is super neurotic,high strung, strong prey drive, loves to run around and chase animals and lizards.

How did I flipping miss this, I have bloody notifications on! 😳 happy I'm here now. This was so fun, I did my rescue staffy for fun as he is kinda slight for his breed but has all the standard staff features and character but I was very surprised to find his great, great grandfather was a whippet which explains his longer skinner legs. Mixed breeds often look nothing like a mix of their parents, battersea once had puppies from a German shepherd and boxer and 2 of the pups in the litter were literally each parent so one looked just like a German and the other totally like a boxer, you could never tell they were mixed breeds from the same litter, totally different dogs. This is more rare but it does happen. It's fun to find out and dogs are just such unique creatures, they are all so different from size, colour, ear shape, body shape etc but they all recognise each other as dogs, it's madness, a great dane knows a chihuahua is a dog and vice versa no other creature on the planet does this besides humans and even we all look more alike than dogs do to each other in comparison. I love that's somewhere in pinks family she has some of those big dogs, it's really funny, she's the Russian doll of dogs 😁❤❤❤❤❤❤

My one dog is a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix!! They are popular breeds in Southern states of the US. Their breeding began in Louisiana and they were trained to hunt wild boar in the swamps! A really fascinating history actually

Catahula leopards we’re bred as farming dogs in Louisiana. They are still a fairly uncommon herding dog to see in the southern United States compared to Australian shepherds and blue heelers. I hear my blue heeler border collie mix looks like a catahula all the time.

Pinky most likely has Belgian Malinois in her because she has one ear up and the other down, and also you said that she is crazy. Those are the two main indicators for a Malinois. (pronounced Mahl in wah)

I’ve got a German Shepard cross collie and she has the one ear up and one down too. I got her from dogs trust she was 5 when I got her she is now 15 almost 16 and still amazing 💖💖. Love when people rescue dogs. Pinky is so cute xx

The breeds are so different from the ones here in the US! There was some overlap of the more well known breeds but there were some random ones in there!! She is adorable and I’m so happy she’s doing so well!

Thank you so much for giving a chance to stray dogs here in Romania. My country is a mess when it comes to educating the population about the importance of caring for our animals at home. There’s so much indifference and cruelty, you’d think this is a third rate country. I also have adopted a stray dog and 5 cats and couldn’t be happier about my choice 🙏🏻❤️

We used Wisdom Panel for our Bailey! We were told she was a Working Cocker Spaniel but she had no certificates so we knew she probably wasn’t a pure breed… her results came back as 6 breeds, but mostly spaniel and border collie - so very high energy! So interesting to see all the breeds in her and we love her whatever breeds she is ☺️

Soph, I'm shocked at how many breeds Pinkie has in her. I definitely thought chihuahua, terrier, and corgi. But wow that's blown my mind. We just done a dna on our cockerpoo and he is 94% poodle and 6% cocker spaniel he actually looks like a miniature poodle. Thank you for your very interesting vlog on pinkie I am blown away.

I'm from Greece and we rescued our dog Carlito from the streets some years ago. He looks like he is the lost brother of Pinky 😅. They look exactly the same, even the one ear up and one ear down thing. So I'm glad that you did a DNA test and I have an idea what my dog might be as well 🤩.

This is so interesting, I'd never have thought some of those breeds to be in Pinky, especially not German shepherd. Either way, she is one beautiful dog🥰 I'd love to do this for my dog, but I feel like it's been left too late. We met both her parents and she's a pedigree beagle from her parents but she's now 11 years old so it feels a bit late 😅
