Shanks beat golden lion shiki to be a yonkou if he was king of the underworld his bounty would be much higher and doflamingo and ceasar would have been working for him not kaido. fishman island would be under red hair pirates as well if did so much travel underwater as well since got the stuff there to help with underwater travel to coat ships.
Theory: The thing about getting too close to the bottom of the ocean that Brook mentions is misinformation spread by the WG to dissuade anyone from seeing the ruins of the old world. Maybe travelling along the ocean floor is even faster than regular underwater currents, which is how Shanks can just show up out of nowhere. And, since he has seen the old world himself, he is the only one who can talk to the five Elders directly - he knows their secret
I like how Buggy plays into this too - his focus on underwater treasure while in Roger's crew, his anger at accidentally eating a devil fruit, even the fact that he was unable to go to Laugh Tale with the rest of the crew (and shanks staying along with him, maybe out of guilt?)
When you are underwater in a strong current, if your ship break or if you fall of board for any reasons, you are dead anyway, fruit user or not. Not sure this is the explanation. I guess it depend on how deep these current are, but if I can see a One piece character swimming upward without breathing for 100 meter, I can't see it for 1000 meter deep (not even considering thing like pressure or deep sickness)
This all depends on if we're using real world logic or anime logic, pretty sure breathing wouldn't be too easy on an island in the clouds or on the moon but i see no issues there🤔
@@nekomiaou One Piece works differently. We dunno how sea pressure works in OP. But they also have defensive haki which...probably could work since it's a form of force like strong attacks from enemies etc
How about this, Laboon is the Strawhats way to Laugh Tale, I mean if it is underwater, and you need to get fruit users there. What could be safer than their old friend and crewmate of their musician.
It also makes sense why Rayleigh still coats ships, and does so quite well. He probably is the one who coated Rodger's ship on the way to Laugh tale. I've thought about that before. And IMO he is still doing it to wait for the person joyboy has been waiting for.
yeah he was def doing it because he knew a certain special pirate will come one day and he indeed met luffy (aka joyboy) and he reminded him of roger so im pretty sure at that point he knew he was special especially wearing the same straw hat roger used
@@Harryshotta1337 I've been caught up since 2020, I just don't care for digging around reddit (obvious reasons) or other places except for youtube which is the only place I hear theories. I know I'm not the only one who's thought of it, because it is a bit obvious, just would like a more in depth theory video with all the new information!
This would top the value of poseidon big time. Also this would explain why the only df user he invites is Marco: because he can fly anyway. (Also ofcourse, because he is a cool and strong af guy).
Wait it makes even more sense his lack of df crew more by the day, I know there's already many reasons... but this is putting the cherry on top, because they literally do their activities in the deepest parts of the sea. Shanks is the goat and for my doubters, that he's op, he even knew he only needed one arm to accomplish everything that's why bro just gave it up, like hisoka did against kastro, but instead of doing it for playing with his food he did it for drip. Coolest Unc.
I’ve had this theory cooking for a while but what if Laugh Tale is in the belly of a whale? Starting the one piece journey the straw hats encounter Crocus who has his own island in the belly of Laboon. As we know a core concept of One Piece is “two sides of the same coin” where there are parallels and inversions everywhere so what if the beginning of the grandline is mean to mirror the end? Futhermore there is EXTENSIVE whale symbolism everywhere (i.e. the whale tree on Zou). The marines logo is the seagull as they survey and control the seas, so what if the ancient kingdoms logo was the whale, living in depths, under the scope of our eyes. Let me know what you think 👀
Not that someone will see this but Shanks also claimed to want to go deal with Barto after Wano, whereas Kidd the next morning took off straight towards Elbaf. But by the time Kidd gets there Shanks has already been staying there and caught up with Dorry and Brogy who he thought were dead, and was about to leave. Even if he went directly to Elbaf after Wano, he apparently was there much longer than the difference between his and Kidds departure times.
i really like shanks being an illegal merchant, it makes a lot of sense even in the live action he had quite a lot to things goods on his ship for a peaceful pirate, he also has enough money to throw Parties often again as a pirate who isn't raiding villages(Probably) . he also isn't on the news so he is probably not finding legendary treasures or saves kingdoms like luffy
Using the currents to fast travel also puts the territories into perspective. Whitebeard couldn't possibly stretch out to those islands without the ability to come in if needed. For big mom this could be compensated for her scary information system.
to be fair: devil fruit user or not, a fight deep down under the sea is dangerous and very deadly to (almost) everyone - even in the world of one piece. you won´t have a nice diving experience 100 m deep down or even deeper without special equipment. just remember what Rayleigh said on Sabaody that many Pirates don´t survive their trip to fishman island just because their ships wheren´t coated properly.
If Shanks really was a spy for the Gorosei, literally nothing he has ever done during the course of the series would make the slightest bit of sense. That theory is funny as a meme but it doesn’t hold up.
The title specifically says "we finally know how Shanks became an emperor" The contents of the video theorize about his methods of travel, thats right. But bro took the bait. Fair for them to give us their headcanon on the title
They told us his ship sank, and he swam the rest or the way to Amizon Lilly. What if he intentionally sank the ship to use deep sea trickery and then swam a short way to the surface.
When i saw this title i immediately thought about Parvision's "godfather shanks" theory, im so happy you shouted that out, I havent seen you interact with that side of the community for a while
What happens to any devil fruits that are underwater? Do they expire? Do they lose their power? What happens? Make a video speculating on it. That would be great.
I love this for explanation of why Shanks was able to make Kaido turn back seemingly so straightforwardly. Makes perfect sense to me. This now my headcanon
Your content is getting closer to Oda's level, minus the weekly break. Oda is like Garp (with his excessive holiday) and you are like Koby, the one actually doing the heroic stuff on daily basis. Keep up the good work Liam and keep being our hero
@@elbabayaga1928 He had eaten it, as that's where him and Shanks got dropped off. After the rest of the crew went to Laugh Tale, Roger turned himself in and the crew disbanded.
@@BE.Official1__ Roger was sick before they went to Laugh Tale. That's *why* he wanted to try to find the island one last time. I'm sure his sickness will be plot relevant in time, though
before i start the video i just gotta say i absolutely loveeeee the parvision praise at the beginning of this video!!! he definitely needs to make more videos🤣. even his first few videos ever are still connecting more and more dots to the modern story as it progresses!!
I love this. THIS is when the One Piece community truly shines, when they compliment each others' theories, not bickering like children about pointless power scalling I support this 100%, good job Dude in a Room and Par
hey man i just got out of the hospital recovering well but my mood was down until i saw u uploaded love ur stuff as always it puts a smile on my face keep it up
I imagine Shanks has a crew of non devil fruiters because It might be cumbersome to recoat the ship every time. So they might just decide where they are going and... hold their breath.
There's only one reason the gorosei allow shanks to live and meet with them, besides his heritage. If they kill him, something will happen in the underworld. They don't want to open Pandora's box because I'm sure there are some very powerful pirates down there. Blackbeard will be the one to do it and will cause mass chaos. That will be the final straw before the big war. The final of the original emperors falling and the underworld finally coming to the surface to join the war.
I think "Transportation" might be too broad, but Supplies and smuggling would make a lot of sense, I mean we first met Shanks stocking up on supplies for like a month or two, and everytime he pops up, he's bringing someone booze to share
This also explains why Shanks was stuck in East Blue for so long. His ship may have been able to sail normal seas but something happened to the coating or whatever he needed to navigate the undercurrents.
Considering what we know about shanks and his observation haki it would make even more sense that he is using the under water currents because he could use his haki to forsee any issues before they happened and it would also explain how he had trained his observation haki to the level it is.
The one piece could be Joy Boy's map. Whether it's a treasure map or just one his crew made while exploring, idk. It would show the world before the great flood, explaining why Roger would have liked to have loved during Joy Boy's era. Roger had explored all the current world offered, however, he had just discovered that was only a fraction of what there once was to explore. Potentially, the map is dated and there was a message with it saying in the future, there may be a way to reverse the flooding. Since that hasnt happened, Roger was too early and had no way to accomplish it through any power he knew of. He started the great pirate era to fuel exploration and have a better chance at somebody discovering a way to unlock the old world.
Uroge being the only ruler of the "higher world" being the only pirate using the white sea as his main path for travelling makes him the "Sky Emperor". That's what the video is actually implying. Uroge > Shanks agenda starts now
Ho-ly sh*t ! You gave the absolute best theory of how Shanks "stopped" Kaido from going to Marine Ford, and why the WG fears an alliance between the Yonkou. Brilliant !
theory? Laugh tale is underwater, the path is so treacherous they needed an advanced bubble coating that wraps the ship like a coat of paint>big and bulky cause…air and floating and stuff…the crew gets bubble helmets for air but only bubble helmets exposing them to the deep sea which is why the devil fruit users became Ill 😅
This makes me wonder about how Shanks and his crew are navigating, as in whether they are calculating the course on their own or whether they (or Roger) created a tool like a log pose for it. The deep sea lacks natural light sources (as far as I know) and you cannot, for example, use the stars as a fixture to determine where you are. So, there has to be someway Shanks and his crew are preventing themselves from getting lost. This also makes me wonder if the Straw Hats will be able to catch up with them or whether they will have to rely on Shanks' help (which would be disappointing, actually). Because if you recall, before the time skip, the story made a big deal out of the fact that Nami was, for all intents and purposes, and exceptional navigator. She mapped out islands for Arlong, but *also* the sea currents around them. Her stint in Weatheria has helped her get better at predicting the weather in the New World (and increased her fighting abilities), but to my recollection, navigating the New World was not a major focus during her training. In fact, whenever we see an interesting ocean phenomena, while it *should* be Nami explaining it, it is often someone else. And that would make sense if navigating the deep sea currents is something most seafaring people don't bother with and are the equivalent to myths, like the Kraken or Mermaids in the real world.
Can your haki be so strong it repels your own devil fruit weaknesses? Like, you're so determined to do something, not even the sea will stop you. Boom!! You blast through the "big wave" and beat the bad guy.
when your notifications go off at 6:30 in the morning ITS LIAM its at the point, where now, me watching this show is like getting to watch one piece xD i love it!
I remember when shanks having the time stopping devil fruit was peak theory crafting lol. also I remember during the beginning of the story shanks said that if you wanted to join his crew weren't allowed to consume a devil fruit. Which always led me to believe that to get to the one piece you had to be able to swim which goes in line with this theory nicely. He knew something way before everyone else, so him being able to get around via underwater passages makes sense. Also if he is able to use these currents to his advantage he could've already been to laughtale and not told anyone
Whoa.. I was just thinking about Sabaodi, and the ships coating. We jar the bubbles can’t survive outside of the special forest. What if Roger or shanks have a “special room” on their crazy ships that have a “tank” full of tree sap and the special atmosphere required to maintain it. The coating works underwater so obviously there’s a more “mystery” (fantasy?) element to what is happening, but it could be as simple as “sea water”… Have to go watch Pars theory and whatnot, but he regularly does a thing, not like his traditional videos but a stream, where he talks one piece chapters and whatnot with syv
It's actually also interesting that BUGGY first as a Warlord and then as the leading captain of Cross Guild, has capitalized on export and information and trade globally. Something he APPARENTLY had plans to do and something that would benefit pretty heavily from having to the same theorized underwater fast travel as his fellow childhood crewmate.
I Called It! Months/year ago! Hehe, my theory was that the giants seem to love war, but show no conflict between themselves, and they rarely leave… so who have they been fighting? The next clue is Mariojoa, more specifically the nobles living at the very top - sure, but why? Could it be to actually distance themselves from something? So the theory is that the Giants have been defending the "gate" between the underworld and above, and as such some of them are actually able to damage the Elders. This would be a solid plot point for Elbaf, as well as the connection between the Underworld and the power of Darkness… I smell Gear 6, the real Nika!
I feel like Nami still has a long way to go now to become a world-class naviagtor, becasue if the navigator on Shanks Crew can deal with all of the underworld bs then he'd have no problem with literally anything above seawater.
What if there was a "Highway" within the red-line? Shanks could easily travel each sea within the greatest amount of land mass. His possible connections to being a descendant of the holy knights might have knowledge of a source of travel within the red-line. Kinda like Finding Nemo. Marlin: "I need to get to the East Australian Current - E A C." Crush: "You're ridin' it dude. Check it out!"
The sea contains tunnels where the current is much faster and stronger. In the film Finding Nemo, turtles "surf" in these tunnels, reaching their destination much faster than swimming. Roger did the same, and probably Shanks too.
I like the idea that if this is true, maybe Uta was canon and had to get left behind somewhere for her own safety if Shanks is constantly underwater and she has a devil fruit. Also so she can do her music. That'd be a plus.
The locations that the poneglyphs point to is probably a whirlpool that leads to the current that takes them to laughtale. I imagine each of the poneglyphs also have a hint of some of the obstacles that they have to face on the way down.
Given all of the Nordic references surrounding shanks I wouldn’t be surprised in any capacity if there was a specific whitstrom called jorgunmander (or some fun word play on that name that Oda made) that essentially encircles the entire world and ONLY shanks knows how to use it. I know that’s purely speculative, but it just fits so nicely with this theory and all of Nordic mythos surrounding shanks. This is one theory I believe to be absolutely true.
Shanks meeting Whitebeard without any sense that he was in a fight is not necessarily an argument that there was no confrontation with the marines when Shanks can one hit K.O. someone with a bounty of 3B berries with not much of a sweat. Think about how many marine vessels he could destroy. Plus his monster team too. His team could easily destroy the fleet of 100 ships that was sent to destroy Egghead island. It's a very interesting theory and would explain how Shanks intercepted Kaido and arrived at Marineford on time and how Whitebeard could sneak his way to Marineford.
The biggest issue with this theory is that shanks would have to have his ship coated with resin from the sunlight tree eve. As far as we know you can only do that on Sabaody, fishman island and wherever Whitebeard got his done
Not ironically whitbeard had lots of things under his name, including restaurants , resorts , and other business , almost like an Yakuza, this is talk about in ace novel .
Makes you wonder how Blackbeard keeps slipping from his grasp. Blackbeard is truly a threat to everyone. The final saga might be Blackbeard vs all other emperors + the revolutionaries + The Marines led by Coby 💀
It's more feasible to think that Shanks uses Cloud Dials and travels by air, the only people who Shankses crew faced in Marineforrd were Kaido and King, both can fly.
Ello Liam, Good morning everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful day and continue to be great and stay blessed, Thank you Mr.Grandlinereview for this work of art the content always brings me joy and it's certainly nice to have for background noise or brainstorming:insight into topics I'd usually brush off, Very appreciated as always!! I will become a content creator myself if I can find a niche that suits me lol
Great video. My mind just wants to wander and I get all nostalgic whenever the sea currents and other geographic phenomena in the One Piece world get put into focus. Adventure vibes out here.
you don't want problems with the red hair pirates because you'll get a underwater ban, which also means no underworld access until shanks permits it or die trying.
this pretty good under water idea because this would also allow them to go through the currents where there is no travel through the calm belt but this gives them easy access in and out.
That would explain his mastery over haki as underwater combat between ships in one piece is extremely dangerous. With shanks use of long range haki he could cripple a ship before its even in sight.
All of this also lines up on why Shanks wasn't going to let Luffy on his crew back in the first chapter. He was an awful swimmer even before he ate his devil fruit and Shanks even asked him "What kind of Pirate can't swim?" I am sure he would have let Luffy join once he could swim but after Luffy ate the Devil Fruit and it hit him that this was the person he was looking for his plans changed.
This plays heavily on why Arlong was so obsessed with Nami sea charts and her ability to draw them so accurately. Why he genuinely felt he could conquer the world with those charts
One possible issue with the underwater combat stuff for non fruit users: pressure. Depending on how far down they are they might not be able to do anything. Remember it’s those bubbles that protect them. Now could those bubbles handle a clash between two yonko?
