Remember the two-fisted original Whopper? It was huge and a deluxe one with everything was about a $1.50. That's what I want again, a real flame-broiled burger with all the fixings on a giant size bun, known as the two-hand Whopper!
@@faerieSAALE yep. im pushing 70,the original whopper was gimormous, its shrunk at least three time since the 70s. plus they microwave them now, unless you specify "off the grill" which increases wait time and pisses off the employees.
The last order my brother and I made at BK was 6 Chicken Jr. sandwiches and two value fries at under $9 after local taxes. A fair enough value since we had soda (and other drink options) at home.
When I look at the listed price for their stuff on the board; it shocks me to see what a comparatively good deal I can get with the coupons. It's like all the extra things, I wouldn't ordinarily order, are free.
Don't know if this is the same overseas - but have you ever counted the number of staff a typical BK has vs a McDonalds? I have seen more people running the front counter at a McDonalds than the entire staff at a BK.
Yes, it's the same where I live. They look like the most depressing place to work. There's just something about the atmosphere and the apathy from the employees that makes me not want to eat there. Also most of their menu items are sub par.
@@Liz-wz8dh You summed it up. I live in California, and those are exactly the problems I've seen with Burger King. That's not the way it used to be, though. When I was growing up back in the 80s, Burger King was definitely competitive with McDonald's and their food was of higher quality, in my opinion. I actually preferred BK to McDonald's at the time. Now, I feel the opposite way.
It has long been known in the industry that if a burger chain just sold burgers at the prices they do, they would go out of business. The money is in the drinks and fries, especially the drinks. Contrary to another comment, Burger King has the highest labor cost in the industry.
This is so true. When I worked in fast food, the employees were not allowed to drink any of the specialty drinks because they were considered the profit makers. We could have cheap sodas all we wanted though.
@@robertbarrows8847 The B/K here routinely has a Manager? aka: someone one in Charge, a Front Cashier and 2 in the kitchen with one rotating between it and the drive thru window. Not a huge amount of employees and a drive thru can easily take up to 20 mins! Our "In-N-Out" Burger has a Manager, Shift Supervisor, 5 Front Cashiers, 4 -6 working drive thru, and 4 - 6 in the kitchen... Yet their Burgers are only $1.89? Go figure...
@@robertbarrows8847 labour cost is indeed a factor, but choice of ingredients is also one. BK is cheap quality. the contrast with entire McDonald communication/marketing in France, based on locally sourced ingredients and meat/cheese.
The only thing I bother getting at BK is the 2 for $5 breakfast deal because it includes small hash browns and coffee as well. McDonalds can't beat that. The only problem is that the closest BK isn't worth the drive.
Burger King....cheap...lmao a Whopper, their signature burger is fucking $6 by itself. Massive difference from the mid 2000's when it was $1. They raised the prices of their nuggets while also lowering the quantity. Whoever made this video is working off old data.
When I worked for the railroad in 1998 I was 18. There was a BK literally across the street. I would run an buy 2 whoppers for 2 bucks. Just mustard ketchup and pickles. Man I loved BK. Now it tasted like garbage
Heard they are raising it again. I rarely stop here and just stopped. Over 6 bucks for a Burger? And a junk Burger that Overall. While, Doubt I'll be coming back. I rarely come to Burger King or McDonald's anymore anyway. Such junk food, and the prices getting ridiculous
@@miragexl007 I have really been into Steak and Shake. I stay away from fries and pop. Burgers are my weakness. You can get 2 double cheeseburgers for around 6 bucks. And fresh.
Nearly 11 bucks for a number one in it's default size of small, add cheese it's a buck more. The bacon king combo in medium is nearly 14 bucks. The whopper junior is nearly 3 bucks without cheese, add cheese it's 50 cents more.
In my area, both McDs and BK did away with their self service kiosks because of how bad they were at dealing with people who didn't speak English. It was faster to just get a paper print out with the options and just have people point to it. The McD even uses some official plastic ones for breakfast back from when they still served bagels and just have the bagels crossed out.
Did anybody catch on 0:58 that Burger King's Wi-Fi costs money to actually use it while in the restaurant? Like that's not fair why pay to use " Free Wi-Fi " ?
It’s like Buffalo wings. Wholesale the wing is the cheapest part of a chicken. So it’s about all profit. BK is smart not to overcompicate their menu. Look at Wendy’s they use damaged Bergers in the chili. I think it’s great
Burger King’s old fries and chicken tenders from the 2000s and 90s was better. The thick fries and chicken fries suck. Also they used to sell larger size and fairly prices slushees.
On the BK app it shows that it is $.50 for cheese. I order on the app. It's faster. In fact where I live I have the BOGO whopper. I add cheese to one and I paid $5.49 for both. Then I go to McDonalds right across the street and get free large fries with a purchase. I order a cheeseburger and pay $1.50
Do not forget to look on those McDonald's receipts, you can sometimes get two quarter pounders for whatever the price is in your area or two egg mcmuffins for the price of one in the mornings.
@@rorobobo8401 You know, that is what I am noticing. I am getting all these "good deals", they may be making less profits to get me to buy it, but I am the one getting fat over it. So really, I am losing the game.
@@wewhoareabouttodiesaluteyo9303 yeah it’s definitely not worth it lol. Just my advice as someone who loved getting the deals, but ignored my waist line.
@@rorobobo8401 But what if....there is a way you can watch the waist line AND take advantage of the deals in moderation, thereby using the calories for good. Hmmm
At least they offer their hamburgers as hamburgers with the cheese being optional; Wendy's only offers its junior hamburger without cheese. I like cheese, just not on my burgers, and I can't stand that orange stuff they all use.
Burger King is great value size and cheap. Always use the app or coupons that they mail u. $5 whopper combo with fries and a drink my go to or $1 or $2 whopper Wednesday lol
Burger king is not cheap! They wanted 5.00 for a large drink and 3 french toast sticks. 4.00 for a medium drink and 3 french toast sticks! With no refills downtown Charlotte, NC!!!!!!!
Never caught food posioning so much in my life from different BK locations had to permanetly cut BK from my diet.I use to eat Md twice a week for 2 years at work never once got sick at MD.I cant do fast food no more espically BK
One time my small fries came with a total of 9 fries ...so at 19 or so cents per french fry totally not worth it...try the numbers yourselves .. pce :)
It's kind of like those chicken nuggets that are ultra cheap at Burger King like I'm sure you don't want to actually know what those are made of. There's got to be a reason why everything is cheaper at Burger King
Cheap where do you get cheap at I bought two single whoppers Not combos just two single whoppers with cheese cost $17 and some change I said you got to be kidding me and they said we’re sorry!
They used to have 2 whoppers for 6 bucks! Now It's 2 quarter pounders for 6 bucks, but you can have it on a whopper bun with the fixings. I got mine, and they put taco sauce on it!
I work at bk and the way ur food is handled stored and prepared u would never eat there again it's far worse than u think what u get is not worth what u pay
1:15 why did the dude snatch his food from employee? Ive had to wait for my food behind "another" customer while my order was already ready and getting cold. So i can understand if thats what happened here😁
McDonald's does the same with the breakfast menu with extra charges. I usually have my own coffee in the morning, but whenever I go to McDonald's (which is very rare now) They always ask with my breakfast "COMBO" meal, what I want to drink with that. I asked if it costs more and they said "No." Then I see a specific price next to my "Additional" coffee for the "COMBO!" Hmmm! Kinda defeats the word "COMBO" huh?
I used to have to explain this to people constantly when I worked at McDonalds years ago. If a Big Mac meal is $4 (like it used to be), the receipt will say "Number 1 . M Soft Drink ". It's like this because of how things are typed in. Nothing about the combo changes, except if you want a more expensive drink, like a shake. I don't know what their system looks like now, but this was between 1996 and 2007.
I don't eat fash food anymore but the last BK I went too made me so sick, I had to take sick days off from work. I went to a different BK and the guy at the drive through window was so gross, he had some type of green goo in his ears. That was more than enough for me. No more BK anywhere!
No where is cheep to go out to eat. Their chicken nuggets went from 1$ to 1.99. That is a 99% increase. GOT a whopper Jr. and the meat was so small I had to look for it hiding under my bun. Not again. Won't eat out I'll just cook at home cause I can't afford it.
Cheap? Within last 2 years a double cheeseburger was $1.69 and now $2.99 10 piece nugget was $1.00 now 8 piece for $2.49 Little Debbie haven't bought one for like 10 years. Use to get them for 25 cents. Now I see them at the gas station for $1.79 are they serious. I mean they paid for the building, employees, electric, supplies, shipping and room for the gas station to profit off the sale for 25 cents. Now yes prices will go up so I can see 5 10 15 cent increase but $1.79? As a CNC programmer I make the same as I did 20 years ago but I get 1 little Debbie for what I could of got 6 for. I get 1 double cheeseburger at McDonalds for what I could of got 3 and half. I'm going to start doing this with all these fast food places (stop buying) McDonald's can take their $3.50 double cheeseburger and shove it. Dollar general family dollar should change their name because nothing seems to be a dollar and they can't even keep up with their price. I get my pop at a gas station cheaper then they are then something is wrong.
what the heck is wrong with the BREAD? they flake. they are either so old, or stored incorrectly. The buns are HORRIBLE whats up with the buns, can we have a conversation about it?
In what world is burger king cheap? It's way more expensive when compared to other fast food places. I wanna know how much burger king payed for them to make this video lol.
Without a doubt my favorite restaurant. The food is so tasty. It’s so much cheaper than buying food and cooking it yourself. Healthy and convent, locally sourced, organic, fair trade and fast. What’s not to like?
They use cheap meat is not the same Burger King from back in the day that's why they're so cheap. Have you not noticed the burger does not taste good anymore? But chicken nuggets are way too skinny. I miss the old Burger King Burger.😓 Krystals has stepped it back up. But at one time they will also using that cheap meat.
Cheap? 6 bucks+ for hamburgers/impossible burgers, sm. Fries 2.50+!..and poor quality/junk stuff. might be last time I come. Yes...let's increaseminimum wages on such places to15+ /hour..lol
It’s actually really good especially when the food’s fresh. Get a double whopper no cheese a fry and a coke. Something about no cheese on the whopper makes it taste so much better
They're unskilled labor. Minimum wage jobs, which are for teens to start out and for retirees to get some money to augment SS. These franchises aren't responsible to "pay a living wage". That is subjective, depending on where you are. It's entirely YOUR obligation to raise your value as a worker.
