The Guardians of the Galaxy went from one of the most obscure properties of Marvel's to one of the most beloved. Vol 2 is also really good and Vol 3 that just hit theaters was amazing. Easily the most soild MCU series IMO.
@@todddober The winter soldier is my fav MCU film and i have a soft spot for TFA but Civil war doesn't come close to GOTG Vol 3 for me. issue with Cap3 is it was more Avengers 2.5
@@nextgenkilla7645 exactly cap 3 doest feel or fit as a captain america so basically the cap trilogy is kind of imcomplete and not the best one i guess
James Gunn does disappoints, he got rid of Henry Cavill as SUPERMAN.... TRUST ME HE'S LOST MY RESPECT #BoycottWBD #FireJamesGunnAndPeterSafran #GunnAndSafranOut #BringBackZackSnyder
@@bloodymarvelous4790 did you watch the same reaction I did ? They had tons of fun and they caught onto little things when others did not like delivering him to his father.
When this movie was made, everyone thought it was gonna be a failure, including Disney and James Gunn That's why they gave him more freedom, and Gunn treated this movie as his last
It then changed the whole perspective of the MCU, meaning every movie that came after had a lot more humor and dared to be more emotional. You can see a clear contrast between the films in phase one compared to phase three.
@@ThisIsMyFullName Not sure if that was good though since Marvel has relied on humor to much lately especially because the humor got really cringy and sometimes ruins otherwise serious moments when bad quips aren't needed.
Naw... 2 fell off pretty substantially and the 3rd was a huge letdown for the end of a trilogy... tons of loose threads, nothing new happening, playing on all the old jokes and treating them as much funnier than they are, and a decent story about rocket that also goes nowhere... Very lackluster considering how solid this movie is (though not without it's issues and corny dialog to rival Lucas writing)
I never knew anything about Guardians of The Galaxy when it came out. Went into the movies very skeptical, we walked out with this being at the time, and still today, one of our favorite MCU movies ever. We have probably seen it a dozen times, and its just as good every time.
When Starlord showed the sphere to the Collector...and dropped it. That was by accident and not the script, but Chris stayed in character so they went with it :D
@@dies3156 - I feel there was a bunch of humor that falls flat or goes on for too long, and the great music selection doesn't always feel as organicaly placed compared to the previous two volumes, but the movie is phenomenal! The High Evolutionary is a great and really utterly hateable villain (in a good way), and a great performance. Everything about Rocket's backstory is gosh darn tear-jerking and kind of upsetting/disturbing for any animal lover. There is a bunch I want to go on about, though best I let you enjoy it for yourself, but this is a fantastic cap to this trilogy, and so so very emotional; movie had me in tears several times.
I remember my buddy and I going to see this opening weekend, not thinking it was going to be anything of importance or really all that special. Boy, were we wrong. What a fun movie that was.
Gotg is basically a group of misfits that become a family. It was a group that wasn't very popular but when the movie came out it immediately became S tier I'm ngl they just did gotg vol3 and it is heartbreaking. It'll probably take you guy a year before you react to that movie but I can already not wait
Aside from the great music and humor, part of what makes this movie work is that they are constantly showing you something new, and it's either cool or important. The story never sits in one place for very long.
I barely knew the guardians before this and I was more impressed with this than I thought. I was already crying at the beginning since I love my mother very much.
Djimon Honjshou pronounces his name "JAI-munn HONN-soo." He is an amazing actor. The Guardians of the Galaxy started as a comic back in the 1970s, and there are some of us who are amazingly glad this movie got made because we've been reading it since the 70s.
I think they perfectly wrote every character. I wish Drax was a lil more of a monster but he’s still a good character. When this first came out I was like who are these guys? So glad I gave them a chance. Great movie, Soundtrack, and reaction from y’all
Marvel's best film, thanks to a very competent mix of pacing, unique and lovable characters, music, drama and humor. No surprise, since James Gunn had previously directed the not-for-everyone masterpiece "Super".
I'd never heard of Guardians of the Galaxy before seeing this movie either and they are now my favorite team of superheroes Moreso than even the Avengers
In the end scene, when the dog is licking Tivan, and the character says "what did you let him lick you for ?", is Howard the Duck. A nod to the film from 86, The FIRST Feature length film with a Marvel character.
This movie is so groundbreaking that it completely reshaped the MCU into what we later came to know and hate Because everyone wanted the movies to be like GOTG
You could even see it in Age of Ultron. The Avengers got more quippy than usual. Got the same cinematographer, SFX supervisor and production designer as GOTG too. Studio also forced Whedon to cutdown his more dramatic and character moments.
@@ThePrinceofHisOwnKingdom I thought Whedon was just doing what he did with the first movie, but bigger and more excessive to the point of exhaustion, breaking him
Never been much of a fan of the GOTG comics but this movie did good. Can't wait for you all to get to Captain America: Civil War. Couple more movies to go before that
As soon as I heard “come and get your love,” I was sure, I knew I’d love this film. Incredible movie in all ways ❤🎉😊. Zoe Saldana is the only actor involved in 3 two billion $ grossing films 🎉 James, the genius, wrote down several ways for Diesel to say “I am Groot,” depending how James wanted Vin to express it
I swear, that "We are Groot" at first made me feel sad, but in each future re-watch as I knew these characters more, only made me more and more emotional 😭
This New group is gonna be a different experience for You Guys. The Most underrated group in mcu. This movie is Sick, thanks for giving us the chance to revisit this thing is awesome! Cant wait for more
Y'all should watch Howard the duck so you'll understand who that was in the post credits although it's two totally different portrayals of that character
no one had heard of these characters apart from big time comic readers. Everyone thought it would be a failure but Gunn and his team managed to turn it into one of marvel's biggest names.
After the success of the first Avengers movie, NO ONE expected the Guardians of the Galaxy to be the first non-Iron Man, Thor, and Cap MCU movie because even in the comic book realm, they were so obscure at the time, especially compared to a lot of the characters in the movies you guys will be coming up on in the future. Marvel put the fate of their future and their chances to really become an expanded cinematic universe into this movie, and if it had flopped like alottttt of people thought it would, the MCU would probably look veryyyy different than it does today. That’s what makes this movie so special, is it was just so unexpectedly great.
This movie was not as heavily promoted as other MCU films. When it came out the word of mouth from movie goers was like a wildfire and it has become a huge fan favorite franchise.
I forgot what marvel movie I seen at the movie theater and the trailer for GOTG was shown and most people were confused by what was going on. I remember even telling my cousin this looked dumb especially when I seen rocket and groot. I was like they have a talking racoon and tree? Then on release day my cousin was like let's just go see it, we seen all the other mcu movies, so why not. I'm glad I went because the reaction everybody had and I after the movie ended was crazy. I think most people thought it would be stupid but it ended up being a good/fun movie.
tbf the guardians were considered deepcuts of marvel comics till this movie. as someone who is obsessed with marvel i only very briefly knew of em from 1 episode of ultimate spiderman (an animted show on disneyXD) and the first lego marvel game
I love your guys reactions to the MCU, this movies are totally awesome. A little bit disappointed that you didn't finished the video like you said you'll finish a zoom meeting 🤏 Guardians of the Galaxy, has completely the best soundtrack of all the MCU. Fun fact, Vin Diesel made the voice of Groot in every language, so no matter what country you are from, you heard Vin Diesel say "I am Groot" (Yo soy Groot, Je suis Groot, etc.)
Coming back to this after watching the new one reminds me how peak marvel was during this period. New one was also great but likely to be the last decent marvel film.
