This brought back memories. Bought a TI new in 1976. Great little car but started to rust in less than 12 months. Mechanically good in the 18 months l owned it. Lost £1200 on it which was a fortune in those days. £1200 would have bought you a brand new Vauxhall Viva. Had many Alfas since so it didn't put me off.

Thanks, it’s my first Alfa and it’s been great so far! Not a bad shout - it’s currently in the garage away from the weather after a good clean, I want to check it out underneath soon!

Not the car that I thought you had bought, the glimpse of the 132 threw me! Beautiful Sud and sounds fantastic. Back in the day a colleague had a red one, but it sadly went the way of the pear very quickly. Looking forward to part two.

My very first car was a '76 white AlfaSud 1.3 Ti but the three doors version with even better tracking. Didn't pay anything for it but is was in a rougher shape then ('81 or somewhere) than yours. I loved that car I really did and it was extremely reliable as well. That engine in yours is not original btw.

Good stuff! Yeah I’m fairly sure I mention somewhere in the Sud series that the engine is a 1.3 twin carb out of an Alfa 33 and there are various other upgrades also!
