The fact that you said: "I hope that one day I can make it up to you guys" I mean, you literally spends thousands of dollars just to entertain us every week. You flip houses, you buy clothes that are worth more than my entire wardrobe. You make us viewers happy with just being your enthousiastic self and I honestly think you don't owe us anything!! The reason we watch your videos is because we love you and the content you make. Every time when I get a notification that you uploaded a video, I instantly get excited, because I've loved every video you've made for the past years! So if anything, I want to say thank you to YOU and I feel like I owe you something, because you do so much just to get us entertained ❤❤
Anne, thank you for writing such an eloquent note that represents (at least right now) the roughly 800 people that feel the same way !!! You couldnt have said it better !! 💙 💜 💙 💜 💙 💜 💙 💜
Exactly!! I think we owe her thanks for entertaining us and for being authentic and let’s face it just “nice” and beyond in this present world where everyone always changes at the top and things everywhere are filled with hate and drama. It’s nice to tune in to something drama free with people who love each other and laugh and are still humble. Truly a breath of fresh air. We need more like her and the whole family.
Turning that “dead” space in the upstairs bathroom into proper storage was brilliant. That’s what we did in our guest house, it has the same A frame structure. Good job!! I’d love to start flipping homes as well. ✨🌻
I understand finances are personal but I wish you broke down the costs and talked more about the business side of the reno!! Maybe do another video with your mom explaining this?
Mia is literally the most hard-working and generous RU-vidr that deserves all the love and support existed in the world I think we all agree that we love her to the moon and back❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love how honest you were! House-flipping is presented as such a get-rich quick thing on youtube and tv nowadays and that's definitely not always how it is...love the finished product!
Mia, you're my favorite RU-vidr because you always thank your fans and show gratitude. Not many RU-vidrs acknowledge that their fans play a big role in their success and it's just so refreshing to hear you thank your fans and acknowledge us. Of course you are very talented and deserve everything that comes your way, but I also like that you are still humble. Please, never ever change that about you! 💕
Mia next time film the process and take us with you, so in the end if you don’t make money on the house you still made it profitable because of the videos :)
I agree! You could make it a series on your channel with multiple videos of that house reno (ex. showing the kitchen reno, shopping for supplies...etc) and if you decide to flip more than one house make seasons of that series!
My husband stages homes for a living and they have done studies that show when a house is staged it not only sells for more but sells SO much faster. Some homes will be on the market for months then his company stages them and they sell in about a week or two its crazy!
That's funny cause I've been looking looking at houses and I hate when they're staged. It's so much easier for me to imagine what I'd want to do with the house if it's empty!
@@tourmii right it’s weird to me too! I like to imagine my own stuff in an empty house! But I guess some people need more help to see a house as a home 😨
I think its good to stage smaller spaces with no storage built in so that you could see how you can add storage and how the home could function. It can give you an idea of what size sofa you could realistically fit or where to store clothes and bedding in an ottoman bed if there's no closets/wardrobes for example. However for a larger home where that's not really an issue I like to see it practically empty with kitchens and bathrooms the only spaces that look almost done as the only thing you can add it small decor and a few appliances. They don't need much work. I like it too look clean and basic so white walls that are easy to paint any colour onto, no clutter or random furniture etc.
"I don't think you have to be an expert to TRY." That's it. That's it right there. That's an amazing statement and so true of so much more than just this project. Frame those words and hang them on a wall because those are some key words for life!
I’m surprised this video is so short... I was expecting it to be like when they redid her grandparents place. I would’ve loved to see the whole process of choosing each rooms carpets and accents and everything
yess, that would've been fun, but of course because it was over 2 years it would've been tricky to do so. It's only about 25 min because it's just tips and the before and after as the title states :)
I was literally prepared to watch an hour long video and I got so sad when I saw it's only 25 minutes (considering it took 2 years to make this video, I think this deserved more camera work). I would have really liked to see the whole process, expecially the flip itself but the idea of sharing the experience of flipping a house and making money from it is good as well. still, I hope we will get another video or she will do a more flip based one.
@@xkatzz I’m not saying the title was misleading, I’m saying a 2 year project like this you would anticipate more content to be yielded from it. Also, just from her teasing this project for a while now I was expecting a larger reveal. I’m obviously a fan because I was excited for it, all I said was that I was surprised that it was only 24mins long.
@@ashleighspurgeon2819 I agree... I was honestly really surprised that Mia didn't make a whole series on this. It would have loved to see the whole process. Dont get me wrong..I love Mia & her content... but the way she was hyping it up I was expecting something more.. like a series or a really long video. Because they video was so short, it felt rushed. Maybe filming it would have been way to much work. 🤷🏼♀️
You repaying us?? Are you kidding me, I feel like I should be paying for this amazing content more than just watch a few 5 second commercials. We love you and you dont owe us anything, it is because of your commitment and talant that you have what you have and you deserve every bit of it! 💪🏼❤️
I would have loved a financial breakdown as a separate video from costs to renovate, costs to professionally stage vs. costs to stage yourselves, contractor costs, how much you bought and sold for. I personally would have loved knowing this info! Love watching your videos and hope to see more house flips in the future! 💕
At first I thought the original photo was the Reno and was like ah it’s okay then my jaw hit the floor when my high ass saw the real after photos !! She did great
I was thinking as I was watching the video that they must have made a loss based on the fact that the house was in good condition originally and very big already so can't have been super cheap, and then the cost involved in adding in that many expensive bathrooms, redoing the kitchen, and making the basement liveable... And hiring the staging company as well. They must have spent a fortune!
When she was saying how she could ever repay us I was like we should be repaying you!! You're content is incredibly amazing and you're so inspiring to watch xx You help me get through the day so it's we that should be repaying you! Xxxxx ♥️♥️
I have a tip for the future: if you would have showed us before and after “blue prints” of the house it would be easier for us to understand all the changes!
@@lauralanthalasa7 I agree with this. It looks nice, don’t get me wrong, but it’s always a very trendy Instagram page type of decor. I’d love to see her do a more moodier vibe instead of light neutrals with pops of color
@@bananasareblue5619 Are you serious? Of course she is. Even if the poorly researched net worth Google spits out is wrong, there is no way in hill she isn't worth over a million with her subscriber count and sponsorships etc. Don't be naive.
@@bananasareblue5619 She does have merch.... I genuinely can't believe you don't think she's a millionaire. A 5 second Google shows she is for one thing
Miaaaa how did you not turn this into a whole series?!?! It would’ve been so much more informative and fun to watch. My favorite kind of videos to watch ♥️ You did a great job!
my boyfriend and i are currently completely reno’ing our first home together, i showed him this video as my inspiration and we’re both blown away!! love this so much
It is amazing and that idea is amazing. I know there’s people like me working my butt off full time trying to get myself my own place and it’s so incredibly hard. 600$ a month for one person to live, eat, entertain themselves, be able to keep in touch with family, travel, it’s nearly impossible. Something like this could help someone like me or someone who has it even worse. Like what if she flipped a van/motor home into a tiny home?!?! I seriously would sacrifice a leg for someone to help me flip a motor home into a tiny house 😭
@@hanamcclure2153 Omg yes! This has the potential to be an amazing series(s) and help so many people at the same time! I've been struggling to get out of poverty for a long time now; I'd kill for a studio apartment even, and my dream is to own a tiny home someday also!
This is an amazing idea, she could turn this into multiple series'! She could film the whole buying/flipping process, maybe even start a whole new channel just for her house flipping and decor videos. She could flip houses, tiny homes, vans, RVs, outdoor areas, etc.! She could also film the staging and selling process too. I could definitely see her with her own HGTV type of show and I think if she sold home decor at like home goods or something, it would be really successful! I also think if she did a series helping low income people get into some of these homes, like you suggested, she could possibly become really well known for it and be able to reach so many more people that she could help! Not to mention, when it's charity, it's a tax write off, so that's helpful for her to fund all this too!
I've never enjoyed someone's content this much. Subscribing to this channel was literally one of the best decisions I've ever made. Appreciate all the effort and commitment!
I would love to watch you flip another house but more in detail like weekly updates/vlogs that way we can come along for the ride with you. You did a great job Mia
Me too! I would love to follow the journey with you all! Seeing the things you struggle with, decisions you have to make, dilemmas, difficulties, fun moments and just like stupid normal things we can all relate to and learn from if we would renovate our self!
I love the idea of like monthly update vlogs or somethings, even if things don't quite "move" or seem special enough for a video. I would love to see how you did the stairs, the build in cabinets in the bathroom, the kitchen, floors, walls and tiles. That what I miss on the renovation tv programs, they always rush those parts and hurry into the reveal, but I love to see them. Not the fake drama but just the real things that can happen when you renovate.
This is intelligent, intresting and eye opening at the same time. I am so here for this type of content. Mia is a very young and very bright girl, such an inspiration.
This was a hugely missed opportunity Mia! Should of taken us on this journey with you for the past two years. Please document the next flip. We need it 🙏🏻 The house is stunning. You guys did a fantastic job. Your renovation/DIY content is my favourite. 💕
The fact she spent all that money on that house, spent 2 years of her life making it, and she didn’t even get a profit shows how pure and warm hearted she is 💕
it shows she was a first time flipper and didn't budget well, but that's how you learn. if you are able to break even, that's ideal, but most first timers lose at least 5k before getting the kinks straightened out. Mia is a quick learner and adaptive, so I'm hoping she has some more flip projects for us to watch!
I think if I’m not mistaken she’s stated before that she’s taken interior design classes online I think. Or maybe a whole course but she definitely has the eye and finger for it!
Love this video so much!! Right before covid my husband and I bought our first home. But we had a ton of repairs to make in our old house before his parents could sell it. And we did a lot of the safe repairs ourselves, with the help RU-vid!!! Honestly it all happened at a good time for us and once we were done it sold within 6 hrs of being on the market in the middle of Covid... plus I think my husband and I learned a lot and got really close to each other!
Great job. I come from a family of civil engineers and contractors and my husband and I owned rental properties that we did all the work on ourselves. The hardest thing is compromising on materials to keep costs down. It helps when one person is very strict about budget so that the other one (me) won’t go overboard buying what they like. Your staging was just as good as the professionals.
I really liked it. I hope your not struggling with ideas. Because whatever you have ready we are ready. I have always loved your concepts. Don’t loose your passion. Love you Mia!!
Damn it Mia, you are going to make me cry 😭 I think I speak for everyone when I say that you are a ray of sunshine every weekend and I love watching and supporting genuine, kind people like you. You put so much enthusiasm, love and care into to your content and that's why we keep coming back, so THANK YOU!
I love the reconfiguration of the kitchen and using the slanted ceiling as an opportunity bathroom storage. That's thinking outside the box. Great job Mia and family!
Do you know what Mia, out of every RU-vidr I watch, you literally deserve every door that’s opened for you! You really do. You’re such a kind human being, and you truly are grateful for everything you have. This is my favourite channel ✨
The part where you thanked your fans for all that you’re able to do was soooo sweet! I’ve been watching you for I’d say about 5 years now right before you got a lot more subscribers you’re one of my favorite youtubers! You’re so genuine and you like a lot of the same things I do! I used to watch HGTV alllll the time when I was younger and I’d still watch it now if it were on Netflix/Hulu. I LOVE interior design and watching your videos makes me really think about going to school for interior design.... idk maybe one day! Love the video as always Mia!! :)
I actually really liked your staging more than the professionals! They did good obviously but yours just felt more warm and welcoming to me. Turning that downstairs bathroom into a laundry room was brilliant!
Mia is amazing. she's probably the only youtuber i've been coming back to for years. Her videos are so well done and fun to watch, and her 'energy' is so nice
What an amazing project for you and your family to do together. So glad you shared this video, i just love all your renovations and furniture flips. This just took it up a few notches.😊😊
@@navya_ I know I’ve never gotten one before I was sooo happy that I tried to edit it to say thank you for the heart!!! And then I lost it!!! I couldn’t believe it😕
The flies come up through the drains when they haven’t been used in a while I believe they’re even called drain flies. You can pour a mixture of salt vinegar and baking soda in the drains if you ever see them again 💕
Yeah, i had issues with house flies in my basement last winter. They come into houses in the colder seasons so i had my AC at 18C for a few days and they started dropping dead.
Beautiful! I SUPER love how the house turned into! I am into interior decorating so I love these kind of videos and The Maple’s family could actually turn this into a family business 😍
This house is absolutely stunning. I have cold shivers. Between the kitchens and the bathrooms to how you made the rooms flow!! Rooms were an awkward shape but you did amazing!!
The “after” house looks amazing, the staged by you “after” i liked more. I think you didn’t make money cause the initial house was not a dump, it was already an ok house, it just lacked personality and finishing touches. As a fellow reno shows watcher I noticed they always start with a derelict/very dated house😁 The end result was amazing though, I’d 100% watch you flipping houses
You did an amazing job. It’s absolutely gorgeous. I love what you opted for in the bathroom with the slanted ceiling. The cabinetry was an excellent choice in there. You inspire me so much. I hope you had fun doing it as much as I did watching!
Mia, I'm floored at how high end you went in the renovation. The after is PHENOMENAL! It's so beautiful and inviting. I'm guessing you didn't make a profit because you guys did a very high-end remodel which is so much better than a traditional "flip." Just enjoy all you learned and the knowledge that you took something that was okay and made it gorgeous and functional and a place that some family will treasure. Way to go!
Why is Mia talking about repaying us when she makes our Fridays and Sundays so much better with her content? She treats her fans like her friends!! ❤❤❤
Now all the stuff she just had laying around her house like the tile closet in the bathroom makeover video and all the room flipping videos in general all year make sense
I'm obsessed with these renovation videos. You explain the process of what you're doing very well instead of making it look quick and simple. I'm 23 and have wanted to do interior design my entire life but I'm not quite there yet cuz my bank account has about 23 bucks in it. I've done a few projects tho and I do many cleaning and organization jobs. You've inspired me to get on my next project!
I honestly was shook with the outcome! The house is so beautiful! I like the neutrals with some pop of colors, it makes it so charmingly colorful without being too much. I also like the placement of the furnitures and the paintings. I especially LOVE the kitchen, it is so up my alley. Everything is so well thought and just so nicely done! Great job Maples family you guys should feel very proud of your selves ♡
The house is stunning! Love the tips even just for doing up my own house! The decor and reno you guys did is so beautiful and timeless. The kitchen felt very studio mcgee 😍😍😍
i really love people like this. they're willing to tell you their tips and mistakes so it's easier for you your first time than to let you struggle because they had to struggle. like something about that really warms my heart ♡
p.s. I've been watching you for years and you are my absolute favorite youtuber with how sweat and genuine you are!! my favorite channel to watch with my morning coffee!!
those flies tipically come from the dried out tubes of the toilet or tub, when they don't fill them up with water for a while, these harmless little creatures appear, they will disappear again after letting some water flow😄 I hope I was helpful
Honestly I think you did such an amazing job piecing all that footage together. I know that wasn’t easy! And I totally understood it all. Love all the tips and the final product is amazing. Love you Mia ❤️
