Still got my H had it for nearly 2 years as well lol never had a problem with it either. Used it for commercial jobs but then had to get a DJI P4P as the camera was better later in 2017. But now that I have the H Plus the P4P will be sold off shortly, it's nice but very loud, the camera is very good, flying is good if the wind isn't too gusty. Came in a carry case whereas the original H didn't. Done lots of flights on it but I hate having to pay $500+ for an iPad mini to use it, in total I ended up paying about $3500 AUD with a spare battery and iPad mini to use it for work. Now that I have the new H Plus I'm back to flying a Hex for work, after initial calibrations etc it's as stable as a rock in the air, it's now really smooth whereas the old H used to jerk when you moved the sticks. And the C23 Camera, yes it has the 1" sensor same as the P4P but on my copy the photos are sharp corner to corner!! Video is practically the same as the P4P and I think in the wind it won't get knocked around like the small P4P one does. One other BIG thing is the H Plus is it's sooooooooooo quiet! Compared to the old H which was fairly quiet and the P4P which sounds like a swarm of angry loud bees which could still be heard 400ft away! But that's all to do with the smaller props going faster on the P4P it's just the design of any quad. If you want to just fly for fun, not bothered about portability, want something that has redundancy, don't want to take your tablet with you all the time etc the H is a good choice for the current price.
PIXMO PRODUCTIONS so is something like the mavic pro or phantom series good for a beginners? I’m not interested in hex drones like the Typhoon H because they’re too big and am not a fan of it using android os to control your drone. I’m thinking of the mavic pro 2 or the zoom as it is incredibly small but can go about 6 miles or more (Don’t really plan to ever go that far) and plus it’s very small but packs a powerful camera. Drones like the typhoon are more of work or real estate jobs but even then ive heard the camera is horrible but don’t take my word for it
Captain- this might be my favorite video that you have done - great job. It was entertaining and really a good showcase for how easy it is to fly the Typhoon H. Keep flying -
Been flying a Phantom 3 for about 5 years. I just got a Typhoon H and I love it! It was kinda intimidating at first. Be sure to learn your ground station, ST16, the aircraft, and the camera system before your first flight. Lots you need to know. I really like this bird. Five minutes into my first flight, I lost camera signal and didn't have a visual on the Typhoon. I hit the panic button, I mean return home switch and waited. 30 seconds or so later (felt like an hour or two) she came into view. I let her get a little closer, took over flight control, and completed the mission. I had a fly away on my p3s once. She almost made it home. After a mile out, she made it to within 200 yards of me and I luckily found it.
I'm a new droner and just got a Mavic 2 Pro. But now I think I also want this Typhoon H as well! Thanks again for a great video. And shout out to Tammie! U cute!
Nice of you to have a guest Co-star. Good point of view, perspective, showing a person that has never flown a drone take on a big dog like this. She did well.
Very nice video. I'm happy when I saw someone learn how to fly drone specially Yuneec Typhoon H. I got my Typhoon H more than a year ago. Thanks Captain Drone.
Wow! Tammy is a natural! She's like a really pretty version of you! lol What a good sport she is for joining you on camera and flying this "tiny drone"! Everything about this drone is HUGE including the transmitter. I actually love that about it. You recently recommended I look for a used or refurbished one but I can't find a single one for sale. Kind of a moot point as my funds have dwindled recently :(. I know I'm late to the party on this video but I was searching for reviews on the Typhoon H and of course this one came up . Thanks Steve! Great work!
Great video. I just got a Typhoon H from Hobby Works and am very excited. Ive been flying quads for a while and have my rec. license. Now Im looking at the part 107 license so I can do inspections on buildings, bridges etc. This appears to be the best drone out for that. Thanks again for the positive video. So sick of seeing fails and people trying to shoot them down. Happy Flying.
Great video guys! Anyone who gives you a thumbs down is just jealous that you made such a good video. Tammy, you did a great job flying that thing! Now I'm headed over to ebay to buy one.
Your friend Tammy has a good technical intuition. Almost incredible how she flew this Typhoon H, her first droneflight. Not too fast, no brusk handling like almost everybody does the first time. But at the end, describing the controller she makes perfect remarks. About the size for instance. Why it has the size it has, screen, sticks, and so on.
Great video, I just got my Typhoon H a few days ago and I love it As well. I also have the Typhoon Q500plus and had it for almost three years. I let my wife fly it while I was flying my Typhoon H and she did very well for her first time. I had it in smart mode under headless control for her so she could just focus on moving it around in the sky. She could get use to what the control input does without worrying about keeping the heading. She claims it was too easy, hhahah! She wants to fly in full control but I told her to get use to the movement first then we will focus on control.
Hey Captain sometimes it is information overload to your first timer - she did very well though -- ie: intel realsense and the many options could be left out on a first session. The first thing I introduce the first-timer to is always - setup to fly - on/off switches - the control sticks - let the person get a feel for and play with the 8 directions (up/down/yawR/yawL/moveR/moveL/moveF/moveB) - that's it for the first time. next session we can speak of obstacle avoidance and camera control But aspose you made the video for the viewers and not for your lovely girl; she was the lab-mouse. The video was fun.
It's fun teaching others and remembering our first flights. Nice video. Tammy did great. A lot of people panic and hand controller back to the instructor.
Very good idea to bring Tammie in to this, it shows how easy this drone handles. Great video i enjoyed it, all credits goes to Captain Drone for his cool video's, super good understandable explanation and the ton's of information, did a great job !! thanx to Tammie and yourself.
I got this drone when it was new. It fell out of the sky and broke the first time I took it out. I finally found a place that services this drone, and just got it back from repair not a week ago. So I'm watching your 2-years video in a long line of informational videos about this drone because I am SO paranoid about mucking up with it again!
Just take it slow and you'll be fine. I think the drone scares people and makes them push the joysticks because it can sometimes be rather twitchy. I'm so used to it, I don't even notice it any more.
I'm so jealous of how much room you always have to fly in. I live in Las Vegas, NV and between the airports and all the development, there's almost nowhere to fly.
That certainly makes it difficult to fly locally in your area. You'd have to leave the city some distance. I live on the outskirts of my city which gives me plenty of locations to fly.
I like when you bring these unsuspecting women onto the channel. Yuneec has some great potential, I just wish they would get rid of WiFi, shrink that remote and release more price point drones. I like Tammy videos she's a good sport!
Thanks! Yup, the Typhoon is a little long in the tooth when it comes to Tech, but honestly it is still a solid drone that is massively fun to fly. Tammie had no idea I was going to have her fly it, although nervous, she enjoyed it.
Nice vid captain. Nice to see Tammy giving it a go. Don't fly my h much as the spark is up out and back before the h has even connected the camera! It can take over a minute to connect for us poor saps in the EC region
The Typhoon is a great drone, just underrated. If more people would fly them they would love it. Fun video Captain! Did you see what happened yesterday when Ken Herron let someone fly his drone?
yea, wonder what a camara for that cost, with a MI drone you can snap a new one in , his had wires hanging out of his..kens giving it away to some unlucky winner.
Hmm Tammy, 7 inches?...it's not just the size that matters, but that 360 Degree gimble is quite satisfying. You might have to change the PG rating for more Tammy reviews..
I bought the Yuneec - Typhoon H Hexacopter Pro with Intel® RealSense in November of 2016. I have never taken it out of it's original case, let alone even charged it. This weekend I was just telling my GF that I'd like to get back into flying (I have the DJI Vision +) but I'm thinking that the H batteries are most likely no good. Is there anyway to test them besides flying to the scene of the crash?
You could just toss them in the Typhoon H charger. If they charge, you a good. However, they may only hold a half charge, so I would not fly too far away and just monitor your battery.
I still have my Thypoon RS and I got my hands on the Plus, but guys what exactly annoys me with Yuneec is that they still don't have intelligent batteries. Do you guys know how many batteries I messed up when leave them to store? More than 3. Still WiFi, I don't mind the remote controller. I would love to fly the H or Plus up to 4KM, why not? The product is really good to fly but the technology is still behind.
wifi...and that controller is out of size controll....what are these things going for these days?..my MI is like 100 times more modern than this for ease of flying..and not stuck with WIFI flying...thats for kids.
the MI? lol, funny guy, just like it has 360 camera, landing gear out of the way, 5 motor fail safe....yea right......go fly 10 miles away, just like the law allows..lol, funny guy....
Hey buddy nice flight of the Typhoon H. Glad she didn't stomp it out!!! 🤦♂️ Would you know anything about the advanced settings such as the expo/rate/curves? I know this is an old video but I can not seem to find much info anywhere. Thank you!
Hi @Captain Drone, love your videos. After watching just about all your videos on the Typhoon, you have inspired me to buy the Typhoon H Plus with the Intel Real Sense option. I do have one nagging question I need help with, Can the Typhoon H Plus detect water as a surface? What would happen if I flew the drone 1 to 2 meters above the water? Part of our requirements is to film boats whilst travelling along the water. If the Typhoon H is no good for this purpose which drone would you recommend. Keep up the great content. Thanks Chris
All drones that use an optical sensor on the bottom for height, have problems over water that is smooth. Water that has waves or ripples is no problem. Drones that have ultra sonic sensors on the bottom have no problems over any type of water. Drones that have no sensors on the bottom also have no problems over water.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thanks for getting back to me. As far as I know the Typhoon H Plus even with RealSense has no sensors on the bottom, is this correct? If so, does the Typhoon H Plus have the ability to program a minimum altitude setting (i.e. set a minimum altitude that it will stay above) If so, have you tried this function over water? I really want to buy the Typhoon as we will also be using it over land. I have over 10 years flying RC Planes and drones more recently, I flew RC Planes with no gyroscopes or computer aids. Having said this, flying a $3,00 bird over water that's not waterproof is daunting. On the water, it will spend most of its time at altitude however there will be times where I will fly the drone at low altitude when filming boats travelling at speed. The only other option we are considering is the SwellPro Splash Drone 3+. Have you tested the Splash Drone 3+ before? If so, what are your thoughts? Whilst this bird is waterproof it floats on water and can self right itself we are giving up a fair bit in terms of picture quality and range. Any advice you can give is greatly appreciated. Thanks again
Funny video. Hey Capt Drone, I know you from the Typhoon owners forum. I used to have this drone and flew it probably 100 times here in Spain. I had nothing but problems with the “soft camera” focus issues, plus the wi-if dropping out when actuating the landing gear. Had sent the damn thing three different times to Yuneec Europe for “repairs”, which it never was. Got so pissed off at the crappy soft video that I finally decided to end my pain by intentionally flying my Typhoon into a rather violent thunderstorm. Although I threw 1300€ away just like that, got to say that it felt really really good! Will not even consider the over priced Typhoon Plus, or whatever the hell they’re calling it.
Very true. Yuneec had a massive quality control problem when they first launched the Typhoon H. Lots of crashes, glitches and cameras with problems. In 2017 they fixed most of that. If you buy one today they work much better. Mine is the original from May 2016, but it has received service and a new camera.
I'm coming up on two years with my H. Wish I wanted to fly it more. I have smaller, more portable drones with better cameras, but lacking the versatility of that 360 gimbal. Really wish Yuneec would get on board with intelligent flight batteries, too, better telemetry connection and flight time. Large drones are often a necessity for pros, but they trade off portability for a huge gain in quality which is well beyond that available on the H.
Yeah, my 2 yo Mavic scoffs at this thing. Except for the handheld gimbal and extra motors (unnecessary these days), there's really nothing that advantageous about the Typhoon.
On any given day, which one would you prefer, Typhoon H Plus or DJI Mavic Pro 2 Zoom? Pick any one and reply please. I have these two options in front of me!! Thanx.
@@dipakkothari8393 Nope, Mavic Air 2. Due the price of the drone and features, it is the best value for the $$. The Zoom is great, if you need 360 obstacle avoidance and some higher end flight features, but even though the camera has an optical zoom, the image is no better than the Mavic Air 2.
Did you have any issues with the controller not connecting to the camera? The last two times I fly my Typhoon H I had to fight to get the video working.
Ha! I got notification of your new video today when I was at work, but couldn't watch it until I got home. I enjoyed it much. With your experience and knowledge of particular drones, in all total honesty, how does the Typhoon H compare to the Phantom 4 all together?? I would love to get your feedback. Thank you.
I've had the Typhoon H for 2 years and the Phantom 4 Pro+ for 1.5 years. The Typhoon H is the more fun drone to fly just due to its size and the way it handles. In addition the ST16 controller of the Typhoon H has many physical switches whereas the Phantom 4 you have to select them in the App. When it comes to filming, the Typhoon H is the best for getting the shot. When it comes to picture and video quality, the Phantom 4 Pro is much, much better (the dynamic range and image quality of the Phantom 4 Pro is outstanding). If I was only posting videos or photos to RU-vid, then the Typhoon H would be sufficient, but for anything more you'd want the quality that the Phantom 4 Pro produces. Also, the Phantom 4 Pro can fly farther and longer.
Thank you for your reply. It is very much appreciated. I don't have a drone yet, but I plan to purchase one in the near future. I have been doing a lot of homework and your channel have been very instrumental in that exciting process. I personally like the big controller of the Typhoon H and I am aware of the Typhoon H Plus as well. You indicating that the many features of the Phantom 4 is done through the app, which I think takes away from some of the fun because of one not actually moving and flipping switches. I know the ST16 controller of the Typhoon H have many buttons, dials and/or switches. I LIKE THAT! I also like the 360% of the camera rotation on the Typhoon H. That is a big plus. One of the drawbacks I hear online on the Typhoon H is the absence of a smart battery. I hope Yuneec design a smart battery for the Typhoon series. I want to say thank you again for your wonderful videos.
Yuneec Typhoon H Plus i'm buying my first drone, need to use it to take pictures of construction sites. some say I should choose a DJI M 2. but I think maybe it's too small. how many Db noise Yuneec Typhoon H Plus with versus DJI. can Yuneec fly in ATTI mode whit the Yuneec Typhoon H Plus with best regards Heino from Denmark
The camera has been replaced (the first one was faulty) and the GPS module was replaced, again it was faulty. Many of the original Typhoon H models had quality control issues. It took Yuneec about a year to fix such issues. The ones you buy today should not have any problems.
You are a cruel instructor! The size of your fist???? This *is* a great time to pick up an H - I paid $600 for mine a couple of months ago, and have seen ads with even lower prices since...

Please let me know if i can add it to my collection. In2019 i just love fun to fly quads a always have had a good spot in my heart for this one when i had already was collecting those dji ones. This one i have always wanted it for my self to try it. But i was on a dji kick in high gear. And im well satisfied with all the ones over the years that i just love all of them. But this one has always picked my interest, and the h pro. Now. Give me your honest advice. About the one u been having for2 years and the h pro one and your im put on that one.for me im a hobbyist .That fly for fun i dont need it to up load u tube or making holly wood type films or for commercial use or nothing other than flying it and having fun,WITH IT, AND FILMING WHAT EVER IM EXPERIENCING, WHILE FLYIN.I WANT ONE . IM A BIG QUAD LOVER.
I have flown and compared the Typhoon H and the Phantom drones and the one thing that always stood above the Typhoon with the Phantom was video quality. The Typhoon just lags a bit in quality. I also noticed that the Typhoon is not as steady in flight as the Phantom IMHO. But, that being said I still would buy the Typhoon today because the price has dropped a lot on Ebay and I am a collector of higher end drones. The last time i looked on Ebay the Typhoon could be bought for about $400. Great video but you should have let Tammie fly for a bit longer so she could get more used to the controls. She only went forward and backwards.
When this drone was first introduced, Yuneec originally told customers that the battery would be $80.00, but after customers placed their orders the price literally doubled. At least DJI never has mislead customers about costs when they debuted new products (ie: Osmo, CrystalSky, etc.). I also never liked the camera quality and controls of any Yuneec drones, they are always subpar compared to DJI. My recommendation to anyone new would be save your money and buy a Phantom 4 Pro instead.
When I said "Save your money" I meant as in a "waste of money" Secondly, I had a Typhoon H for 3 days and returned it for a Phantom 4 Pro, so I'm very experienced in the difference of actural camera quality differences.
Hello Captain, you showed with this video why most of the users of drones are men, excellent that your wife is interested in them, mine is not encouraged, greetings to both.
