Guys it was just goofs! We didn't force Mrs. Hathaway to do anything! We wouldn't dare. We just watched a movie about a magical spell that causes her to do anything anyone tells her. That wasn't a command. The command was "tell no one about this ability" then she went on to say "I don't want anyone to use it against you." She wasn't commanded to not let anyone exploit her. But it does raise the question of what would happen if she was given directly contradicting orders?

@@benjaminmorris4962Honestly a huge slip up on the mothers part. She knew about the curse so she could have given a command that nullified it. Something like you will only obey when you want to. Meaning she could still do magic. People would just have to ask her nicely go summon gold for them or whatever.

When I was 12 I had a really cool dragon shirt. It was always the first one I wore on a fresh laundry cycle. Eventually, I outgrew it and my mom gave it to Goodwill. I'm glad to see Mitch has since given it a good home. Treat the shirt well, that's my childhood you're wearing.

I love that she never realized she could give herself commands. Like it wasn't anything else helping her in that moment, right? It's just such a predictably dumb way for her to break the magical curse. You'd think she would have tried everything already. Also I love how the snake CGI was only lit somewhat realistically in some scenes. There's no shadows in most of them. The movie does have a certain Char to it though...

Wait a second ; Why didn’t her mother command her to obey no one else but her unless it was of Ella’s own volition? She would die soon meaning that although she was still cursed, she’d be free from the curse by technicality. Poor parenting on her part if you ask me.
