At the Santana Mine mineral exploration property, we found a large magnetite zone over a kilometer long and hundreds of meters wide! The rock contains massive to disseminated magnetite and minor pyrite and the occasional chalcopyrite. This is in addition to the adjacent 600m of copper skarn showings, which contain copper, silver, and gold.

Thanks and real interesting magnetite formations there!

I notice in your videos you're able to distinguish pyrite vs chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite, or pentlandite in both massive and semi-massive samples. Are there distinct characteristics that make it obvious even when the sample contains small amounts?

Hmm, visual descriptions of minerals are always lacking. The quickest easiest identifiable that you listed pyrite vs. chalcopyrite, you will often be able to see the cubed structure of pyrite. When it looks more like it has melted into massive mineralization, it will likely be chalcopyrite. If you are interested, check out the high-quality pictures and descriptions in "Rocks and minerals: a photographic field guide" by Pellant

I'm watching this in my truck & listening through bluetooth on my radio. @1:27 there is a very low vibrating hum. Could be aircraft, but sound isn't loud. The sound could be from the magnetic frequencies as well. Do you hear it?

In terns of quality how does magnetite rate as an iron ore?

Yeah, real rocks like they have back east, not this petrified mud and limestone we have over most of Utah.
