Our experience on a first descent of small but pretty El Mamey Canyon in the northern Dominican Republic. Canyoneering (or canyoning) is a fun and sometimes exploratory sport using ropes to access waterfalls and slots around the world. This canyon turned out to be much smaller than I anticipated on satellite images, but was a fun day nonetheless.
